Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Lobot replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Hi Nick6314 As Hold0511 mentioned, Bricklink has a full part list for each set which is usually very accurate. Occasionally, some sets will have 'alternative' parts and these are listed at the bottom of the page. For future reference there's a general Q&A thread pinned to the top of the forum. I'll merge this with it in a bit -
Great work Miro78, and.....

Hi Mikeyjames28, and welcome to Eurobricks! There's a full set of them available here; credit to gaut1202 who put it together a couple of years ago. For future reference, there's a general Q&A thread pinned to the top of this forum. I'll merge this thread with it in a bit -
Thanks for the great review, Bob Unfortunately, even your excellent photos don't make this look anything other than mediocre. And, as I've said before, the cost is totally indefensible but it seems to be following a trend of significant price-hikes amongst other licensed sets. I really don't know what TLG were thinking when they decided to release this; hopefully the UCS Snowspeeder will be in a totally different league, otherwise I might need to find another hobby.

Please can we keep this thread for 2016 Pictures and Rumours, thank you. I'd also appreciate it if discussions about pricing or availability etc could be kept to a minimum, as this inevitably causes problems! For future reference, if anyone feels that a post is inappropriate, there's a 'Report' button which can be used to bring it to the attention of the moderators

Just a gentle reminder that this thread is for 2016 Pictures and Rumours only. If you want to discuss future sets (e.g. those that you'd like to see from Rogue One etc) there's already a dedicated thread for it (here). I'll move some posts shortly; thanks for your understanding

Hi Jedi Master, as stated in the forum guidelines (link) please can you refrain from 'bumping' old threads unless you've got something significant to add - this one is 8 years old! I've included the key section below. I'll lock this thread shortly - please feel free to PM me if you'd like to discuss anything. Posting, spam and off topic topics: Off topic posts can be great fun between friends, but they do run the risk of making a topic unreadable to other members. We ask you to try to stick to the thread topic. In most cases we are happy to leave this to your judgment, but we will step in if we feel you have gone too far. Posting in "old" topics is generally frowned on, but it's a complicated topic. Read here for more details on this. Remember: Eurobricks is a LEGO fan site, thus we want most topics here to be LEGO related. If you find you are posting mostly non-LEGO topics then maybe you have picked the wrong site. (Just to clarify, M%g^ Bl&ks aren't LEGO....)

75017 Duel on Geonosis: It's one of my favourite playsets, with lots of useful parts (link) and an interesting build. It also includes a decent range of minifigures; a correct (non-CW) Yoda, Count Dooku & Poggle The Lesser. I'm not sure why it didn't sell well - I managed to buy 3 of them at 75% off!

This isn't really the sort of thread that we need in Eurobricks so I'm going to close it. Please feel free to PM me if you'd like to discuss anything. For future reference, we already have a thread to post photos of your collections (link). -
I've just noticed that the limit for 75098 has been reduced to one in the UK, whilst all other Exclusives have increased to five. I'm not sure of the logic behind it, but I didn't expect that! My only thought is that TLG may have already decided to scale-back production, and focus on sets that are in higher demand. Personally I think that it's destined to follow a similar timeline to the UCS B-Wing, and I'd be amazed if it's available in 18 months.

Much to the annoyance of Mrs Lobot, my hobby room is half-full of large delivery boxes which are my own personal collection. Most of these are still unopened - I'm hoping to build them all and make a suitable display at some point, but it's become a very long-term project! I blame my sister actually - a couple of years ago I commissioned her to paint a ROTJ scene for me as a centrepiece and I'm still waiting; it will include an incomplete Death Star floating in the blackness of space, an Imperial Shuttle landing on the illuminated platform, the patrolling AT-AT, the Shield Generator dish and a few Stormtroopers enthusiastically drumming on the heads of a dozen furry inhabitants! And, yes, I'll admit the other half is used to hold parts for my store which helps to fund my hobby, plus the odd 10179 -

Hi DrJones, and welcome to the Star Wars forum! According to the Bricklink inventory (link) an extra 92738 blaster is included as standard (additional parts are located at the end of the list). I really ought to open my copy at some point, it looks like a great set -

I prefer 75137 myself and Ugnaught would make a nice addition to your UCS Slave 1; there's a nice review of it on Eurobricks (link) which may be of interest For future reference there's a general Q&A thread pinned to the top of the forum. I'll merge this with it in a bit -
Hi brickmasterben11, and welcome to Eurobricks! I've merged your thread with the 'Future Star Wars Sets' as I don't think that Rebels needs a dedicated one

That's a fair point, the cost of sets seems to be creeping ever upwards for both current sets and those in the aftermarket. However, you need to bear in mind that although the set is $249.99 in the US, it's considerably more expensive elsewhere. For example, the UK price is £219.99 which is currently $317.46 US according to Google! In the UK, the set is also £20 more expensive that the Ewok Village which isn't helping; it just makes it look ridiculously overpriced. If it had been around the £180 mark ($260 US) I'd have probably ordered it straight away, but I've decided to wait until the inevitable sale in 6 months as a matter of principle Interestingly, there's been several new 'negative' reviews of the set added to the LEGO website in the last 24 hours, with the overall rating at 2.2 and only 38% recommending the set... I don't recall ever seeing figures that low (even 75096 scores 3.6 and 56% which looks quite good in comparison, and it isn't the best set!). I'll be interested to see if TLG respond to all of the negativity about it; hopefully all this will be forgotten about when images of the new Death Star & Snowspeeder surface.
-
I've just noticed that the purchasing limit has already increased to 2 in the UK, after only 4 days! It will be interesting if they relax it further, or remove it altogether Perhaps it's a direct result of the dismal reviews that the set has received, or in response to the comments added to the main LEGO website. I'm not one to bet, but I think there's a considerable chance that it will be discounted heavily in the next 6-12 months and have a reduced lifespan compared to the usual 2-3 years for other Exclusives.

Excellent work ISC, I was very impressed by the earlier version of this but the additional sections have taken it to a new level. Mos Eisley has always been one of my favourite locations, and you've captured the feel of it perfectly. The Slave 1 lifting off really adds to it; is it a standard 6209? Also, do you have any photos of it combined with the Docking Bay 94 - it would be great to see them

Hi itsnickg, and welcome to Eurobricks! If I recall correctly, there's a thread about Bricklinking a 10212 somewhere and it included a discussion about whether it was feasible to Bricklink it in Light Bluish Grey. I'll have a look for it in a bit and merge it with this thread. Personally I really like the original UCS set, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone . If you're looking for a parts list, there's one on Bricklink (here) which you can import into a 'Wanted List' and then update the colours to LBG; that should give you a useful starting point to work from.

Hi drawen22, and welcome to Eurobricks! There are sometimes subtle differences in the colours; the parts of my 10212 are all one 'shade' but they're definately closer to cream-white than pure white. I bought mine new and it was like that from the start. My last UCS Falcon was a mixture of greys, and again was bought new so, personally, I wouldn't be worried about it. For future reference there's a general Q&A thread pinned to the top of the forum. I'll merge this with it in a bit -
I finally ordered 10236 Ewok Village today, as it was 10% off and I had some VIP points waiting to be spent. I've never been a fan of ewoks, but I just couldn't order the new Hoth set at full RRP I get the feeling that it's been quiet at TLG today - the website has been running well and when I called them earlier there wasn't any delay in answering it. Perhaps we'll have a better promotion next year, including a half-decent polybag!

Brickset has just published a review of the set (link). It mirrors most of the others that I've seen - essentially a very expensive playset and totally unworthy of the 'UCS' designation. I've been in two minds about buying it since I saw the first images of it, but I just can't bring myself to spend £220 on this..... hopefully it will be significantly discounted in the next year, otherwise it may be a pass for me At least the UCS Snowspeeder is now showing (again) as a UCS for 2017 on Brickset which is something to look forward to, although what's the chance that it will be from Episode VII?

CM4Sci posted a couple of days ago that the 75144 UCS Snowspeeder was being delayed until 2017, but the 75159 Death Star will be released this autumn. Brickset has both of these within their database, so it's very likely that's correct. However, someone spotted recently that the Snowspeeder had lost it's 'UCS' designation - hopefully it's just a glitch! For future reference, we have a 2016 Pictures & Rumours thread, plus a general Q&A thread which are both ideal for this sort of query. I'll merge this with the Q&A thread in a bit -

In reply to your question, it's anyone's guess. Historically UCS-type sets used to run on a 2-3 year lifecycle, but TLG has ceased production of some very early in the last few years (e.g. B-Wing and Town Hall) which I'd expect was due to poor sales. The Ewok Village is the oldest of the current 'Exclusives' and personally I think it looks the most dated - certainly in terms of the minifigures so I think there's a decent chance it will be the next to retire. As has been mentioned in the 2016 thread we don't tend to discuss 'investments' in this forum. We also have a general Q&A thread pinned to the top of the forum which is ideal for this sort of thing. I'll merge this with it in a bit. -
It's possible that the set may be available at either Argos, TRU or Smyths within a few months (other exclusives have been - X-Wing, R2-D2 and Slave 1) and so you could find it on sale at some point, but you'll need to keep an eye out as they'll sell out fast. Alternatively, there's just a chance that TLG will discount it although this seems to be less common in recent years; the best I'd expect would be 10-20% but if you can catch it at the same time as other deals (e.g. free polybags etc) it can become quite a good deal. Usually the sales happen on 4th May, 'Brick Friday' and 1st January. A few years ago the UCS B-Wing was sold at 50% off in the US - but it was eventually sold in the UK at 30% off a few months later. If I recall correctly I managed to get my X-Wing at 20% off. This may be a good contender for a 20% discount at some point in the next year - I get the feeling it may have quite a limited shelf-life for a 'UCS' set but time will tell.

Thanks for the review, Sariel It has re-inforced my initial thoughts about it - a very expensive playset, but certainly not worthy of the UCS label. I've been looking forward to buying it since I heard the first rumours last year, but like the overwhelming majority I'm very disappointed by the final design. There are some nice little elements, but it looks very unfinished overall - the reverse of the blast doors look awful! The exposed technic parts, and combination of Black and Grey just looks cheap. I'm not usually that bothered by minifigures but the selection seems quite odd. The one highlight is K-3PO, but the others are quite forgettable. I'm still undecided about buying this on 30th April; I'm highly tempted to wait for the inevitable sale.
