You're welcome! Oh, and another thing: I really like the idea of water and boat. It really makes my fantasy work: is the tower accessible by boat only? And if that's so, then why? Is it a refuge and are the inhabitants living in a real danger? Or are they just weird? Or, is it that the tower is accessible by foot, but they live very close to lake or rivulet, and maybe they're just having fun in a boat? Very, very nice build!

You never cease to amaze me! This is so lovely, so much! But it's also really really grim and sad, the trees got an excelent "dying" color, namely in the first picture. Idk if you went for an autumnal mood, but this is soo Hound of the Baskervilles! I really love it!

Lovely MOC! Thor was my childhood hero, I still got Kon-Tiki Ekspedisjonen in my bookcase. :-)

Thanks for the info! I'm searching for some nice javelins, spears and halberds, as I don't really like the classic lego stuff, and these look very nice! edit: Wow, that's amazing shop! I remeber seeing it a year or so ago, and I drooled over some of the stuff. Fortunately I was able to overcome the urge to spend all my money oh their products!

Yeah, it was such a pain! :-D Here's the one last look at The Empyrial Cavalry: Centre: 49 Heavy Cavalrymen + 1 General Wings: 2x 25 Medium Cavalrymen Scouts: 50 Light Cavalrymen in four troops Archers: 2x 25 Mounted Bowmen In all: 200 horsemen. Also, I heard about a horrible deed of necromancy being commited in the North!

"Finally, consider what likely drives The Northern Horde. You have a culture who fill up a landscape until starvation or competition drives them out. These are not people who are terribly frightened by death. During the battle, they may not even know that half their number have fallen. The best way to defeat the horsemen is through a policy of razed earth which denies them utterly the option to forage the landscape. It means evacuating and burning your own crops and slaughtering the herds and women and children of the enemy. 'Just passing through' is still fully enough to back foot our civilization and where this becomes an active presense as with The Horde, you have to cut the cancer out by whatever means necessary or it will form a continual raider presence that butchers and torches everything and everyone around it. This is 'success' in the ultimate military sense of disrupting the rule of the existing govenment and supplanting it with chaotic effects that pull down The Empire by increments. This must not happen and I will stop this. I will destroy The Horde." - The Emperor It took years to defeat The Northern Horde, and it wasn't until the new strategy was developed and implemented. At the height of The Horde's threat, The Emperor raised a highly mobile force, The Imperial Cavalry, elite assortment of the best knights of the realm. These pursued The Horde wherever the Northmen moved, and slowly, through their sheer power and through the genius and leadership of their commander, they drove The Horde out of the boundaries of The Empire. The Emperor, personally commanding his army. Head of the Dragon. "If it's good enough for my man, I can use it. If it's not good enough for me, then my men shouldn't use it. Give me the same armour, same lance, and same shield. I just want my horse to wear the colours of my family." Light Cavalry. The most valuable men of the Empyrial Cavalry. Eyes of the Dragon. Scouting, pursuing, and liaison are the duties of a light cavalryman. Wearing just an ordinary gambeson, a small shield, and a light helmet, he isn't meant to join the melee. "What's beyond those hills, beyond the forest? Who's hiding in the marshes? Be it Death himself, I shall take a look." Heavy Cavalrymen. Main hitting force of the Army. Maw of the Dragon. Each lancer wears a cuirass over a thicker gambeson, as this proved effective enough against the enemy arrow fire, while being light to wear and cheap to manufacture; the great helm and large shield are necessary in the melee, He uses a long and heavy lance to outrange the short spears of the Northmen. "I put my trust not into the talismans, spells, and prayers, but into my horse, my sword, and my shield. Not into the invisible gods, but into The Emperor that always rides before me." Medium Cavalrymen. Split into two groups, these are the Wings of the Dragon. These men use lighter lances and faster horses as they need high speed and agility. They support the main force after the initial clash, but they also pursue the fleeing enemy. "Always think flank, flank, envelop! And always move, never stop!" Mounted Bowmen. Extremely mobile support units. Claws of the Dragon. Capable of delivering an intense hail of arrows, these cavalry archers are the scourge of the lightly armoured Horde. "I saw the Northmen ride their horses, and I wasn't impressed. I saw them shooting their bows, and I wasn't impressed either. Then I saw them riding their horses AND shooting their bows... and I still wasn't impressed." Best regards! :-)

@zoth33 Thanks for your support! I am not totally happy with the photos, they really didn't capture the atmosphere I wanted to achieve, but speaking of the numbers... yeah, I got them! I'll try to make a bit more detailed photos on Sat/Sun of the particular dudes, and I'll give some bit more ideas about the Imperial Cavalry. @richchie Those are lovely soldiers! My favourite part is the merry-go-round horse. I wanted to use one for a princess - oh, that shiny bridle -, but it definitely works amazingly well as a commander's horse! Where are those pikes from?

Ok, so I finally got myself to choosing and uploading the photos of my army. Honestly, I'm not happy about the result, and I hesitated for months before sharing the stuff. Small remark: what you'll see is inspired by a famous and lovely The Northern Horde, a barbarian cavalry force that you may see here and here. To have an overal idea what kind of effect I was trying to achieve, look no further than this: My idea was to create a counterforce, the polar opposite of The Northern Horde, an Imperial Cavalry. I tried, but well... uhm, well, I think I failed. My cataphracts have all the shortcomings of the usual clone armies, while having very little of their spell. Idk, maybe the photos just suck, I wished for something different, but whatever; this is the result. I'm more into your Castle creations, but this fort is nice! Well done!

Hello all! I made a small moc, it was a birthday gift for a friend of my son. It's his own family in a lego medieval setting. His dad is a knight in full paraphernalia, his mom is a lady, and his small brother doesn't have a pointy toy yet, coz he's too small. I know that it's nothing special, but I like it. :-)

Yeah, indeed, the contrast with hull is nice, and the big plain blue sail really shines!
-
It looks really good! Maybe it's due to hue or maybe thanks to lighting, but it really looks like a piece of cloth! Man, this is so nice, I really like it!
-
That bird is cleverly done!
-
Wow, a neat build! Really clever!
-
btw, where is the sail from? Is it lego, is it diy?
-
That's lovely!
-
Yep, that's true. I don't know why lego was so hesitant about using brown, after all they made wheels in that color, so the possibility was for many more stuff.
-
What pantelis wrote! I really like the ship, and it'll be a nice 1980's set!

Shame the two tails. I get that it's a folklore thing, but yeah, I'm more into real-life animals... :-) -
That's cool! Both the build and your forthcoming newborn! :-)
-
wow, there's more than just them, very nice!
-
I'd also love to see those cavalrymen!
-
Black Knights. There's something special about them.
-
Aanchir, that post was golden! It was also very very true and sad...
