  1. It looks nice!
  2. @THERIZE it seems that 1100.002, https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/BBÖ_1100 has pulled Orient Express. It is related to the LEGO Crocodile https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crocodile_(locomotive). .
  3. Couldn't they eat surströmming? instead of destroying a minifig, or some plushie?
  4. If LEGO did 1 gauge locomotives, then I know whose builds I would compare LEGO's locomotives to. And I would be interested in buying too, if good. I do not have 1 gauge, tho. But, anyway.
  5. I, actually prefer the Orient Express, locomotive.
  6. Nice build :) The bed? either IKEA, or some other, that can be built together. The attic, maybe a ladder to access it? Maybe half of roof removable?
  7. @*thomas* cheers :)
  8. Big Boy with XXL #13 Drivers?! 1:40 scale?! #13/XXL would give 1728mm, in 1:40. IRL size 1727mm / 68inches. Your locomotive you posted, that, could very well fit the Orient Express. @*thomas*, do they have real photos of it? That one seems computer generated.
  9. Yep, it could have been a bit different. It's simple, but not bad. And I do like it anyway :)
  10. @Sven J Well, closest. But hard match? That, we will not find. The Ideas locomotive in real bricks and working, that I would like to see. With non LEGO driving wheels. BBB or BTD wheels. I actually like the passenger cars more, than the original. ToledoRails's video, I do agree on it.
  11. @Sven J I think that so far, Bayerische P 3/5 N, is the closest to the 21344 locomotive? From that german wikipedia article.
  12. A blue "Emerald Night" might look quite nice. @Carefree_Dude Well, modified version.
  13. @Sven J Well, I can understand small bits here and there @Yperio_Bricks Or, just mod the locomotive, to be a bit longer? One axle more of driving wheels? Or maybe add an axle of trailing wheels?
  14. If you have checked H0 model trains, then atleast some makers, shorten the passenger cars. I think I read somewhere that 1:100 in scale length, vs the locomotives 1:87. @LordsofMedieval It would be nice, if there somewhere, would be a list of locomotives that have been used with the Orient Express passenger cars. Even if it would be country based.
  15. @samsz_3 Ahh, yeah, Belpare firebox, on the SNCF 230's. In Sweden, most seem to be Round-topped, or Pacific-type's. This, might rather have a Round-topped firebox, than the originals Belpare firebox. Well, IF this is inpsired by SNCF 230's.
  16. Ok. And here I thought that the black part is the smokebox. If it is not the smokebox, what is it then? @Yperio_Bricks Regarding the length of the locomotive? It is too long, vs the passenger cars. The passenger cars, should be noticeable longer than that locomotive + tender,
  17. Ahh, hand of god, steering. Cheers.
  18. Very nice, but, what happened with the sleeper part?
  19. @R0Sch, so we both agree that it reminds of https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/230_PO_4201_à_4370 230 G.
  20. Whoa, that is a short locomotive!
  21. LordsofMedieval. What I read, about the steam locomotives for the Orient Express, is that every country, used their own locomotives. So it was never? the same steam locomotive all the way. samsz_3, what if you added a 4th driver? flange, blind, blind flange? But that would give a longer locomotive too. Unless taking space below the cab.
  22. Looks nice. How well would it handle R40 curves?
  23. You all, definitely need a 2m long train. ;) Boiler sizes, there's a lot of them. I have tried to see if there is any list of all steam locomotives that have been used for the Orient Express, but sadly, I have not found any, so far.
  24. Yes, it is different from the submission. Yes, it is wider than the 6 wide some seem to prefer. Original submission was +10wide. Yeah, the locomotive is quite different. Original, display piece only. This, this can run on the tracks, it seems. Original locomotive is nice, but I have seen better on ideas. IRL 231 K 8 locomotive. Myself, I was sure that LEGO would change the locomotive, but how, that I did not know. The LEGO 21344 Locomotive reminds a bit of SNCF 230 G, too. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/230_PO_4201_à_4370 Did Orient Express, have something to do with what locomotive was chosen?
