  1. If you use an air compressor, it is best to have some sort of water trap, as air compressors tend to fill with condensed water vapors as well.
  2. Looks great, T-buckets are one of my favorite alternate builds, that and F1 cars. I was pleasantly surprised with this build as I am with most of the stuff you build, keep up the great work and thanks for showing it off.
  3. What a great idea, some of those look really amazing and sounds like so much fun, I think I will try my hand at it, thanks.
  4. Happily working on 42131 the CAT D 11, about 1/4 of the way done so far and although I haven't come across any thing amazing, it is a truly satisfying build, so far. What is special though, is it was gifted to me by a small group of friends for my recent birthday. It was totally unexpected and quite the surprise, as I usually don't even get a card, lol. This will always be one of my favorite sets and holds a special place in my heart, being a gift, that I would never purchase for myself, I rarely spend more than $200 for any set and as much as I like the big sets, I simply can't afford them. I literally almost teared up when I got it, very special. Sorry for being so corny but it really is a great set and I can't wait to finish it so I can tear it apart and make something else, this is my biggest set I have ever built as well, other than a few mocs which always seem to scream for more pieces.
  5. I would echo this advice, as that is generally how I start. I tend to build to get away from the daily grind of life, I love to get lost trying different techniques and building styles, as such I try to also avoid screen time and using any kind of tech, when building stuff. That is just me though and your experience may be completely different.
  6. Really looks great and is perfect size, looks well built to.
  7. As the 1980 world freestyle frisbee champion, this is the set I most look forward to.
  8. Speaking of the air intake, on the roof, mine is quite wobbly and a real pain to keep correctly oriented. It's so bad I had to triple check I put it together right.
  9. Nice, I do the same thing, I once bought every Ninjago Ice Tank polybag on clearance, for the chain link pieces, ended up with about 16/17 bags for less than $50, now I have like 10 foot worth of chain and a bunch of other useful parts. Can never have enough chain links, lol.
  10. Yes I do that as well but usually only pick up one or two sets, maybe more if they are small. I would never buy multiple copies of a large set though, even on sale, much less all of them on the shelf. I just don't need that many parts, many of which may or may not be useful and of course that is just my personal experience.
  11. Like I usually wait for a sale, all sets at one time or another will be available for a small discount 20% or better, at alternate stores. I have seen people clean the shelf of on sale sets as well, I assume to resell. Anyway I am sure most sellers operate the same as any other retailer, so discounts should be expected from time to time. I am also sure there are many aspects that I am not even aware of.
  12. Looks good and is a great idea, I would however suggest downsizing it some as it seems unnecessarily large. A couple of other things too, it looks like a rather boring and very repetitive build. I would recommend trying to make the build more interesting, add some more complex building techniques and a little more variety to the overall look, maybe focus a little more on the day to day operations and less on the military aspect as we all know how TLG feels about such things. Anyway best of luck with your project and don't be discouraged, it is a decent start.
  13. I am amazed how similar my experience is to others. I definitely "finish" very few mocs, even though I work on a great number of them, some gather dust for years, lol, then I return to them and either finish or disassemble. Like others once I work out most of the problems, I seem to have little interest in the finishing touches. Also I tend to keep all my mocs to myself, don't really care about recognition or boring people to death with endless pictures. I do very much enjoy others pictures and reading about their build experience.
  14. Well there is the long running thread in Community along with some other similar ones. Apparently at one time that was the place for it, although anymore, I don't think anyone posts in there.
  15. I have often wondered myself how popular they are, just because I don't like them doesn't mean everyone else does as well. Thing is I have never even considered buying them as parts packs either, as I often do with other sets I don't particularly care for.
  16. Yes, or transparent background stickers and metallic reflective stickers if you choose. These work very well on most all colors and since I don't mind cutting them most all pieces. Do I do these all the time or even often? No but it is an option I will absolutely use if necessary.
  17. Now you just seem to be acting contrary for the sake of being contrary, lol. As someone that actually does exactly what you say nobody does, especially with clear stickers, I am not sure what to say but I have more than once even cut part of the leftover sticker sheet to make my own stickers, love the chrome reflective ones for this. Anyway good luck with your cause, I would love to see more printed parts with no price increase.
  18. No, just stop, nobody is falling for it, lol. Why would you even perpetrate such obvious fraudulent claims and not just this one.
  19. Interesting concept and you have a good start but I agree, reducing the steering offset, would greatly improve steering and maneuverability in general.
  20. So now that LEGO has given us specific movie cars and their associated named drivers and most people seem to really like these sets and are okay with the price increase that goes with it, do you think that now we will start getting actual numbered race cars with specific named drivers to go with them? Sure seems like a natural progression and would surely make certain sets much more popular and I would for one love it.
  21. There is a thread somewhere, I can't seem to find it now, I thought it was in general discussion, anyway it goes quite in-depth to how different colors are susceptible to breakage and why, reddish brown seems to be the worst offender.
  22. Simple question, which is preferable prints or stickers. As a simply answer I am sure most would say prints, especially if building the intended set. However it does concern me that someone would say, see everyone prefers prints regardless. When in fact it is only the people that actually respond to the the question that prefer prints. As I said before I do like stickers for some things, I would hate a heavily stickered Speed Champions set to be all prints, it would make the parts unusable for other things. To ask all considerations to be set aside and just pick stickers or prints, is no different than asking people their favorite Ice cream flavor, Vanilla or Chocolate, which doesn't really mean anything. I do know if I did prefer stickers over prints I wouldn't say so in this thread, lol.
  23. Sorry couldn't resist, lol, it's hard for me to find play features as I really don't play, much but I have used LEGO for stuff it was not meant for.
  24. Hmm, I use a brick separator to scratch off lottery tickets.
  25. Lol, they really should have come up with a different word for it, as the word Illegal really seems to trigger some people. When in fact nobody gives a flying hoot what the hell you do to your little plastic pieces. The problem arises when the illegal technique gets unwittingly passed along as acceptable, from moc instructions or other ways to someone that doesn't understand. Anyway I have never concerned myself about it because there is certainly nobody out there actively looking to punish offenders, nor would I care as the plastic is mine to do with as I please.
