  1. Hey @Digger of Bricks, congrats on becoming an Archduke! Me, I'm here, stuck at knight with 950+ posts for a year, can't become a count! Excellent stuff, some great detailing on the facade! I'm not too fond of those pink flags though and agree with @paupadros's comment on Flickr: Gosh, this is unbelievable, and thinking that I would have missed this without you posting it! I was inactive lego-wise (Gray Ages I guess) between around august and november 2019 where this thing was posted! Have you seen that they've collaborated to make out of this a whole layout? Looks absolutely magnificent which is not a surprise as it's built by some of the top MOCers in the community! ~SKYTOPIA by @Vaionaut, @modestolus, @steentje, @Rolli, @Sylon, @Willem van der Marel and @marcu22 SKYTOPIA by Vaionaut, on Flickr
  2. Hey guys, very long time no see! I wanted to revive this topic and also my EB account as recently, I've spotted some excellent re-renditions of some official modulars that I wanted to share here as well as hopefully some other great MOCs! ~Apocalypse Green Grocer and Apocalypse Diner by Keith Reed Apocalypse Green Grocer. by Keith Reed, on Flickr 20200409_195343 by Keith Reed, on Flickr Keith wrote about his Apocalypse Green Grocer that it was a part of an ongoing project so hopefully we can expect more of these! ~Parisian Restaurant by Paul Nicholson Lego Parisian Restaurant Corner Building by Paul Nicholson, on Flickr The execution may not be great in this one but I absolutely love the idea and the way it looks from that angle! ~Green Grocer MOD and Cafe Corner MOD by @Palixa And The Bricks Green Grocer MOD by Palixa And The Bricks, on Flickr Cafe Corner by Palixa And The Bricks, on Flickr P.S. I'm discovering back some other great MODs so will likely highlight them soon as well!
  3. I was just logging to Eurobricks to ask if someone would @ me to notify when we’ll have a photo of the new modular! Now I don’t need that anymore, what a great surprise! That’s what I instantly thought as well. That two story townhouse looks so unusual for an official modular in my opinion (not in a bad way though). That roof technique, the architectural style chosen... I’m not a huge fan of the macaroni tiles on the third floor of the dark orange building but other than that, I really like this new modular! A lot better than the Corner Garage for sure even if it’s not my favorite modular ever! I’ll try to write a more detailed post about what I think about it when I get back to home. EDIT: It started growing on me and the third floor of the dark orange building looks a lot better from this angle:
  4. I was thinking about something: wouldn’t it be better if they posted small teasers of the new modular instead of hiding it till the last day? This way, fans would be both happier and more hyped, won’t they? As teasers, I don’t mean seeing one half of the modular as that would make it possible for bootleg companies to copy it. More like a minifig reading something in the library, the background would be very blurry. Or like a minifig walking to the library but the we wouldn’t be able to see details of the building as the camera would only be focused on the minifig.
  5. 3 Great Architectural MOCs that were recently posted, day 2: --Sci-Fi Desert Outpost by @MassEditor Sci-Fi Desert Outpost by Patrick Massey, on Flickr --Boonie Bears: Logger Vick's home by qian yj Boonie Bears:Logger Vick's home by qian yj, on Flickr --Space Fortress by @hellboy and h2brick Space Fortress II by hellboy.lego, on Flickr This guy has some interesting ideas architecture-wise but I'm personally not too convinced with the way they are executed... The first looks decent though! What do you think about them yourself? Thanks for sharing by the way!
  6. 3 Great Architectural MOCs that were recently posted, day 2: --Hogsmeade Village by @TheLordOfBricks - Love those windows, the snow, the stonework and the pines! Hogsmeade Village by Roanoke Handybuck, on Flickr --The newest addition to Venice Italy (WIP) by @Barthezz Brick - Such a huge project that keeps getting better and better! (Wip) Venice Italy by Barthezz Brick, on Flickr --Winter in the Shire by @Balbo - Such a natural looking MOC - the photo editing is a great touch too! Winter in the Shire by Patrick B., on Flickr This looks great, I love how he didn't push the tiles all the way through! It gives such a great texture.
  7. Well then I wish I was one of those websites. It’s killing everyone. (love that emoji by the way ) 11 recent browsing members and probably a few dozen lurkers. No surprises to me it’s a bookstore, someone already wrote was going to be a bookstore according to their local store manager. That was exactly 4 weeks ago. I know that guy was telling the truth because the same thing happened with the Corner Garage; someone wrote that their store manager told them the 2019 modular was going to be a garage with a pet shop above 3 months before the reveal of the CG. Me too, I love the idea. So much potential with the architectural style but my biggest hope is Art Nouveau! There’s an idea I don’t like at all though - it’s to keep this modular so secret for so long...
  8. What about having some special awards to be able to encourage more builders? For example the best first MOC, the MOC with most NPUs, the MOC with the best color scheme, the most unusual looking MOCs and so on.
  9. Wow @koalayummies, when saying "if someone else is interested and enough courageous to do the collecting work, I really wasn't thinking someone would do the work that fast! There should be a special prize just for you for doing this work! Also to @paupadros for creating this topic! You also made me discover some great MOCs I haven't seen before as I wasn't very active on EB for almost half a year! Just a small thing; did you collect all the minifig scale architecture MOCs which didn't differ too much from the core concept or just the ones you thought were worth? Just to make sure!
  10. Reviving this topic once again because got bored waiting for the reveal of the new modular... Not only because of that but that definitely has some impact on the reason I'm reviving this topic... 3 Great Architectural MOCs that were recently posted: -Buffalo Phil's Brick City by Paul Hetherington - Even though architecturally speaking this is not my cup of tea, I just love the colors and the some of the smooth details! -Who live in this cabin? by mamax711 - Such an unusual style, I love it! -Fallen Temple by @jaapxaap - The angle, the textures and the signs of abrasion (hope this is the right word) put this MOC into another level! Some nice details on the ground and the first floor but the second floor and the staircase look a bit off to me... A pity because otherwise it's certainly a nice MOC!
  11. Great topic idea @paupadros! Just a few questions: So, would snaillad's and similar style MOCs count? Or other minifig scale architecture MOCs which don't have the real modular standards such as ...x32 baseplates, thick bases and the sidewalk tiles? (What I mean by sidewalk tiles is the 1 stud and 7 studs shown below): I'll try to post a few stuff I can think of as worthy modulars to be part of this topic but this is a quite subjective topic and it's going to take some time to collect every good modular MOCs posted this year... Can you think of some easier way of doing the modular collecting work except what my solution in the last sentence of this post? I'm personally a bit afraid that some of the MOCers who built and posted some great modulars this year may not login till mid-december or may forget to do so. Perhaps Eurobricks could index in every single modular MOC from now on and the ones that get the most votes at the end of the year get the first, second and third places with some prizes as you mentioned? It would be great to have a such system in an automatic way so that moderators don't have to spend extra time on that. Also we could have all the modular MOCs posted on EB since the beginning of 2019 in a single topic that way... Oh, also is this going to only be about modulars starting from 2019 or end-December 2018 modulars will count as well? Because if this poll doesn't include modulars that will be posted after mid-December this year, they would need to go to the poll of 2020's best modulars, wouldn't they? What do you mean by this? Making the contest also on Flickr, Instagram and other platforms? Would that mean including this year's modular MOCs which were exclusively posted on those platforms in the contest? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anyway, if yourself or someone else is interested and enough courageous to do the collecting work, this link should send them directly to the page 15 of the town forum where the first topic of this year can be seen at the moment I'm writing this post... I can try to help with the work too when I get responses to my questions!
  12. Very Parisian looking indeed! I really like your experiments with different tiling techniques! Keep up the great work
  13. So it's the end of November and we still have no photos of the new modular to my knowledge... The DD two years ago was already leaked nine days ago and was going to be officially announced in two days... And last year, the inventory sheet of the CG was going to be leaked tomorrow and it was going to be officially announced in five days... And when is this one going to be announced?
  14. Hmmm... That police station description is pretty interesting... It indeed has a lot of similarities with @Bricked1980‘s MOC but has some differences and has a surprisingly detailed and a long description. It doesn’t seem legit to me though as 10269 is an already existing set (Harley-Davidson) as mentioned. Also an interesting find: someone called Wabbajack_47 on the Reddit topic of @Bricked1980‘s MOC wrote this following comment: And for those who haven’t seen the Wikipedia description, it goes like this: Look at the beginning of the Wikipedia description. 32x32 + 16x32... Oh, I don’t want to sound like I’m trying to say it’s Wabbajack_47 who wrote that description on Wikipedia. I just found that interesting so wanted to share it.
  15. Another long time supporter - congratulations for this huge achievement! I wish you the best for the review!
  16. Oops, sorry. My bad. I hope it served as a reminder at least... Anyway, for those wondering when we may see some kind of information about the new modular, I’ve gone back and dug these two posts which seem to be the leaks of the previous two modulars (if we don’t count @AllanSmith who was told by someone that the next modular was a petrol service station with a pet shop above). Hope I got it right this time with the posts... Corner Garage: Downtown Diner: And the press releases: Corner Garage: Downtown Diner: So looking at all these dates, we can (hopefully) except some info/leaks by the end of November in one or two weeks and an official release a few days later!
  17. Don't know if this has already been posted (sorry if it was) but came across this video while searching about the new modular and thought I would share it:
  18. That would be amazing! It would be so cosy and charming! I know I need to stop with that but maybe an antique store that sells Art Nouveau furnitures and decorations (as well)? The only thing I'm not sure about in your idea is that we already had a small cosy cafe/tea room in the AS even though I personally would love to get another one of (if it's different enough which it can easily be)... Sounds great as well! Your modulars are always packed with great stuff!
  19. About the book shop rumor, that may be true. A similar thing happened the last year with the CG and it was true. I found this post as the proof, couldn’t bother to find the original one. Book shop as a subject would make sense too as we didn’t get anything like that in any modular yet, am I wrong?
  20. Still no signs of the new modular... Keep seeing @Bricked1980‘s great modulars whenever I look for “LEGO 2020 modular”, lol. Maybe he signed a contract with TLG without us knowing? I don’t know what they’ll do as the subject of the modular but architecture wise I hope it won’t go any plainer. I would love/adore to see an Art Nouveau or an early Art Deco building if they are going back in time or a contemporary building with some strange shapes if they’re going to the present even though we’re unlikely to see something of that kind without a few transition modulars... I mean in which style could it be? Which possibilities do we have?
  21. Hey guys, haven’t been online for a few weeks, do we have any information about the new modular?
  22. Thanks so much for highlighting this one as I haven’t seen it before! It instantly became one of my favorite Ideas projects I’ve seen in a while! Would absolutely love to see this on shelves! Hey @Digger of Bricks, do you still remember about this project? I've got some great news for you! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/f76d3a06-e9a8-462d-9f96-d6cc0fe8d5fa/official_comments#content_nav_tabs I love the roof designs of all these MOCs!
