  1. From what I know, it was in the balance as to whether his channel was going to survive the strikes for copyright infringement, etc...
  2. The content was voluntarily pulled, but from the way things were headed, Youtube weren't too many strikes off doing so anyway...
  3. Very true, I think that needs explaining to his fans... The "why" part is the problem now and how to address it. I feel his subscribers deserve to know. It saddens me it has come to this... As you say: A proper discussion on do's and don't do's of using others Mocs and LDD files is called for, in my opinion...
  4. I thought it best to tell you all that Jimbricked has infact removed all his content. Do people think this was the right decision?
  5. Update, so as to keep people in the loop: @Brother From Another Brick is going to do an interview on his Youtube channel with @Jimbricked.
  6. I have explained this to him, and I hope he is taking this fact on board... As I said: "if too many people send copyright strikes on your channel, Youtube is within their rights to terminate your channel... I recommend you cooperate with this or Youtube could in a sense 'slap the book at you' and you'll be left with no channel at all. I have seen this happen." I'm waiting to see how many videos have to go, I'm sure it'll be a fairly large number from what people I've been speaking with have been saying... I'm looking forward to the video explaining all this in great detail! ?
  7. Topic created: Ok people, good progress is being made: Thanks James
  8. Right, I have been asked to create this thread to raise awareness. I am spearheading a way to solve this, as I have knowledge in this sector. We have someone in our community that has been taking LDD files that don't belong to him, has been making videos on them without the original designers permission, and most importantly has been selling the designs as instructions when he has no right or legal standpoint to do so. Now, this is not giving anyone the right to give this guy 'hate' as it will not make the situation any better. Firstly, I recommend you read the thread created by @Tenderlok, that started nearly a day ago, and has brought this to the forefront: And especially this bit that I wrote just recently in there: "I stayed up late trying to sort this and eventually went to bed. I'm now ready to get back to it... Today I am incredibly disappointed by @Jimbricked... It seems he isn't listening, he seems infact to be saying one thing, doing another... I'm beyond frustrated with this situation, so this is closer to the line that we as community should take: Therefore, I am going to post in here and also create a thread in general. Here is his youtube channel: https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCGzMhduUjLlnpBRHTaOJ8Aw (Hope the link works, if not, tell me and I'll correct it, I'm doing this fast.) This is not to open the door to giving him 'hate', this is a group approach to solve this, and I need help as I am only one man. In terms of consequences, this will now be in a far less beneficial light for @Jimbricked, because of his lack of action. He is now likely going to have to remove videos on people asking, or otherwise get an awful lot of copyright strikes... - Right, the plan: 1. Go on his channel. 2. Look though all his videos, and: (a) If they're your LDD designs, contact him and ask him to delete them, as it doesn't look like he's going to be contacting you anytime soon... If he doesn't respond, fill out the infringement form on Youtube. (b) If you directly know who the LDD design originally belongs to, could you please find contact details for the designer in question, and pop them a message explaining the stolen material is monetized and also has instructions being sold by Jimbricked. From there the designer needs ask him to delete them, and again, if he doesn't respond, they should fill out the infringement form on Youtube. - Therefore, we have legally forfilled the correct approach, by asking first, then if no response, using Youtube's tools to deal with it. - Now @Jimbricked, as you may know, if too many people send copyright strikes on your channel, Youtube is within their rights to terminate your channel... I recommend you cooperate with this or Youtube could in a sense 'slap the book at you' and you'll be left with no channel at all. I have seen this happen. - The other approach which could save everyone time would be to delete every piece of content (video) in which you have used LDD files without permission. That would leave you with the designs you have created entirely yourself, and the possibility of being able to continue uploading your designs in video form to Youtube. In this scenario, you can sell your own designs, but not those belonging to others as well... - I hope I have made myself abundantly clear... Regards, James - P.S. Any questions please ask." The "plan" part specifically is what I need help with. So, any would be much appreciated to solve this. If you know anyone affected in the form of stolen material please do get in touch with them, if you don't have contact details for them, please refer it to me and I will either search for info and contact them or get someone else on it with more links. Thank you for reading this, I love this community and want this whole situation in a better position in the next 24 hours than it has been in the last. James

  10. That aspect annoys me... Exactly! But should he really be called out? Not sure that will help progress... This has been explained to him, via message. If only that was enough for people to realise... Overall, I hope things turn out ok and the individual does the right thing. From what I can tell he is quite young and has made mistakes... As he's said to me: "I did something I love in a the wrong way and I admit any wrongdoing." So give the guy a chance to fix this, he shouldn't be alienated at a time like this. Regards, James
  11. I hope it doesn't have to end up with this, I have been trying to avoid this scenario happening... I also hope the private strategy between myself and Jim (that I have meticulously constructed) is followed as it should be the best overall situation for everyone concerned... This is taking up a decent amount of my time, but I feel its worth it for the good of the community as a whole.
  12. I would like to update you that action is being taken, and this is being handled in the right way. I would also like to thank Jim for his cooperation in a strategy to deal with this. James
  13. I've been doing a considerable amount of research and there are grounds, if each original designer of each creation wishes it, for a whole raft of videos to be removed... I'm currently doing analysis into the original owners of a vast swathe of his 'content'. @Jimbricked This will be resolved... And this is not the way to be going about it: (I am subscribed to keep an eye...) As for your previous post that appeared and then was deleted, I find this wholly unacceptable and not good enough: This is not a witch hunt, this is happening because of an inability to ask for permission to use something created by someone else, and then also having the cheak to profiteer and sell these designs... If I really have to spell out the legal framework for doing this, I will, it largely revolves around the 'end user licence agreement' for the softwares used in brick based design... I recommend you look at the possible consequences, as I am now decidedly 'genned up' on how to go about this. Permission is everything, 'fair use' doesn't come in to this due to the commercial gain from sale of material... Regards, James (If anyone has a problem with this approach I am prepared to take, message me privately.)
  14. You will in the future! But only in brick built form, and thats down to me having the funds to do so! My first one I intend to post: "60154 + 4564 = 37?" is coming soon! All will become clear when I post it! You shouldn't actually be able to find the videos in question now as they have been deleted by the individual.
  15. @Tenderlok Your 2 videos have been dealt with... If anyone else has particular issues they would like addressing regarding this type of thing, please don't hesitate to ask me... Regards, James
  16. @Tenderlok Oh wow... Its him... I'm going to deal with this for you... That is outrageous...
  17. The problem (if it would be called that) is a lot of people watching Lego videos on Youtube are quite young and don't even know of sites like Eurobricks, Flickr, Bricksafe, etc... Therefore they wouldn't realise the designs didn't belong to the content creator... They probably think this guy is a Lego designing genius! Out of interest, what kind of views has this terrible person made from these videos? If you have rights on your designs, you could in fact copyright strike his channel and cause him a headache! Do you know of any of the other designers he has stolen off? If you contact them and get them reporting him too, then ultimately Youtube could remove offending videos and/or demonitize his channel, cutting a revenue stream and make him consider his actions... (I know quite a lot about Youtube as I'm a moderator, advisor and promoter for multiple channels and networks... If you'd like specific advice on the matter in question, I'd be happy to help or direct you to useful information!) Very good point, if that had been the case it really would be tough to do anything about it. It's happened before though! The company of zero morals (Lepin) has done that with individual's designs off Lego Idea's for instance...
  18. Hi @Tenderlok, Thats terrible, I didn't expect anyone to stoop that low as to claim it was their own, I've seen people sell other peoples moc files before though. Annoys me immensely... Thats one of the reasons why I've become apprehensive to share some of the files I've created in Stud.io and other softwares. Most have taken many, many hours to design and perfect, but I can't yet afford to build them, so I'm just keeping them to myself. Really is such a shame, I expected better from a community like ours... Also a shame that its probably going to lead to less people sharing their design files... I love looking and learning new things as well! I think @Cale and @Glenn Holland of BMR have got the right idea, keeping their instructions paper based so it is a lot harder for people to steal their outstanding designs... Though even with the Boxcar design, I've seen people almost rip-off the design and sell it a couple of times as brick built models on eBay, but listed in rather weird way so that it won't get picked up unless you often search for spelling mistakes, etc... (Unfortunately it was a while ago and I can't seem to find the actual listings now... Should've reported it to them at the time, it wasn't until some time later that I read on the BMR site that you weren't allowed to.)
  19. @icemorons Must've been given as a job to an intern! #ScaleGreat #AccuracyMuch
  20. Love it, great model! Must say the loco, hopper wagons and caboose look wonderful! Great to get the shay's gearing so well done in 6 wide, presents more of a challenge than wider scales. Look forward to seeing the finished model in brick form, sure it'll look as brilliant in the flesh as the others you've built! Might just have to look at building some hopper wagons like that, tho I'm thinking of doing something along the lines of a 6 wide, shortened wheelbase version of the BMR Hopper! Should present quite a task! Thanks for sharing your creations, your flickr page over the years has presented rather a lot of inspiration for me, before I even came to Eurobricks!
  21. Well, no-one has done it before! I did it for 3 reasons mainly: 1. To test the ability of power functions. 2. To have a train that looks great in the dark. 3. Because TLG hadn't released a great train in years, so I had to keep myself busy somehow! Info: I've got it set up so that there is 2 circuits in the 6 car unit. In power car 1 is a rechargeable battery box and an IR receiver (on setting 3). On the red channel, it has the 2 motors at each end of the train, therefore 4 in total. On the blue channel is the headlights and tail lights, therefore 2. In power car 2 is also a rechargeable battery box and an IR receiver (on setting 4). On the red channel is 1 light per carriage, therefore 4. On the blue channel is 1 light per carriage, therefore another 4. Totalling the 4 motors and 10 lights! Now why have I done that I hear you ask! (Not mad at all!) I have a train occupying 4 of the 8 channels, (not seen that done before!) I also have the ability to control the trains movement, external and internal light independently, as well as vary the amount of light internally to a level not even necessary! It really is a mess of cables I must say! I challenge anyone to make a more ridiculous 6 car unit! Unfortunately the entire train is in storage at the moment, otherwise I'd shoot a video showing it off! (I'm currently planning a more ridiculous train with more motors and more lights, possibly sbricks or buwizz technology! Though its becoming quite a task! If its ever finished I'll be sure to create a thread on it!) Hope that gives the long answer to what should've otherwise been a short one!
  22. Yeah, I don't quite understand that! At least the other one its actually on the track!
  23. So these cables have 6 wires, and you need a studs length of plug space, right, thats going to help a lot with moc planning! Hmm, wonder what that might mean for compatibility... Also wonder why they need 6 instead of 4! What extra component types do you think we might see? Sensors? It has 2 independent motors, one for each side, might buy one just to experiment with train concepts!
  24. As for the cables and plug locations on the battery box, the batmobile might help with that!
  25. For those that wanted the battery box dimensions: We know its 4×8×Something studs! I'm going with the something being 4ish studs, its definitely more than 3 studs that some predicted!
