  1. I've been very tempted to rebuild the class 24 attempt that I attempted. As in, buy power function parts (two sets of lights, motors, a switch, receiver, speed controller, and a rechargeable battery box or two), but finance and the Christmas strain on my card prevents me from doing so. But what I have been able to do, is get to sorting my lego from an old blue crate into an empty tub or two.
  2. yesterday, ordered 2 flanged wheels and 1 blind red wheel off brick owl. (really handy site, easy to use.)
  3. Yesterday, ordered my 8 stud storage brick, and today, ordered 4 red flanged wheels and 2 blinds from BrickOwl.
  4. I'm not sure where to put this, but what is the most weirdest thing you've ever built? I would have to say.... This: Seriously, what possessed me to build this? ...actually, it looks more like an observation platform of some sort. So yeah, what is your weirdest build yet?
  5. @ColletArrow A Class 175 would be interesting.
  6. Over here in Britain, we have a large variety of Diesel Multiple Units and Electric Multiple Units, including the Blue Pullman. (preservation status, unknown. Someone did a really awesome recreation on the Trainz series of games. I think the front would be a challenge in lego.) Maybe a Pendolino? Probably not the Class 390, but the Itallian Pendolino. EDIT here's a picture of the driving car of the Blue Pullman: And I was wrong. Someone did manage to do the Blue Pullman DMU in LEGO: Photo accredited to Carl Greatrix.
  7. So, put the battery box in the engine compartment, driving wheels geared and a motor placed near the wheel base? Not forgetting the IR sensor? I'll try, but I'll need the parts for it first. I have two motors in my inventory, but the battery box is too big to fit in the engine compartment. If can just motorize it, I won't need that many components.
  8. Right now, I turned Classic FM on in the kitchen for my sister's kitten who's recovering from being spayed and microchipped. She's got the cone of shame on. And I'm listening to my radio in bluetooth mode. Got a fantastic instrumental version of the flying kipper theme playing.
  9. My 5 91996 snow plough parts arrived today. and I replaced the rear buffers with the snowplough design. Also, the 0-4-4-0ST got a buffer update. Thanks Bricknation toys!
  10. 'Ralph, get off the tracks!' as onlookers look on in sheer horror. Really cool MOC there. Must have taken you a while.
  11. Alstad is looking good, she's just got a few details here and there that I need to put into the cab. either way, she's looking really pretty. With Glowing white Strobes! I also moved the horns to a better place.
  12. She's nearly finished! I'm going to make everything blue on the cab, and then I'm sure she's complete. She's looking like a 0-4-4-0ST. Plus auxillary tender and parcel van. And the driver and fireman have a pet parrot. I'll need to finish the roof. Other than that, she's looking really good. In theory, i could add a 9v motor to the tender, but then the wiring if I want to have both her headlamps and tail lamps lighting would be a bit tricky.
  13. Guessing wheel slip was an issue during the early testing stages.
  14. I've recently been listening to this: Thomas the very angry tank engine. Symphonic metal is my favourite type of metal.
  15. Yesterday, ordered a green train window frame and glass for it off brick owl. Alstad is nearly at a stage where she's complete. EDIT: Saturday was quite a sad day for me. My uncle died, and today I tried to do some voluntary work at the Chippenham RSPCA Charity shop, but a song the radio had on set me off, and found I couldn't continue in that state of mind. So on my way to the bus station, I got two Series 15 minifigure bags, one of them contained the banana guy.
  16. I really need to get round to buying that set. Probably would replace the cross pins with actual 6m cross beams. Anyway, If there isn't that much next year, it's going to be annoying. I think the safety concerns of TLG probably stemmed from the fact that you had rail contacts to actually make the 9v motors go, and any worn wire casing could be a hazard. I've got 4 9v motors, and my 9v rail contacts are shot...as in, frayed. They could have made the casing stronger. Oh well. At least it wasn't as complex as the PF system.
  17. Today, I ordered my nephew's birthday and christmas presents. Demolition site and jungle buggy. EDIT: And I've just ordered 5x Black train buffer 91992 off brickowl.
  18. EMU in train terms stands for Electric Multiple Unit. And that's a lot of 9V motors!
  19. So in effect, she's a EMU...? Just found a video of a her class... How many 9V motors did you need for the other locomotives, like the emerald night? You must have built up a stock of them!
  20. Mine was actually a few years ago. I hadn't played with my lego for a while, and I think I came back getting into lego in October...this year. My first foray back into lego was the Super soarer. And then I got my first Nexo Knights set, the Falcon blaster.... thing is, I used to live in Cheshire, North West England, and my room was actually quite suitable for lego...my Wiltshire room, South West England is a bit chaotic...so yeah...space was mainly the issue.
  21. What is the basis for the swedish ore train? I can't remember if I saw something like that on Trainz: A New Era....also, Jackshafts... Β‘ME GUSTA MUCHO!
  22. Storage is everything. Oh yeah, just ordered a new Gray baseplate, because my original one that I got a long time ago has bended...
  23. Tuesday, bought two lego classic creative blue boxes. Wednesday, my radiator grille parts and glowing 1x1 plates arrived. Today, my Medium Blue storage cube arrived.
  24. That Warbaby Daylight looks gorgeous. Found another favourite of mine which is the BR Standard Class 7, aka, the Britannia class: Above photo by Hugh Ilewelyn...or was it Llewelyn?
  25. Today, My creative supplement box arrived today. Added more to my 0-4-4-0ST. Yes, she looks more like a saddle tank. Probably will get the small train ride set from the official lego store.
