TRAIN TECH Help, General Questions & Talk to the Staff
Steamdemon replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Let's think, i'm probably going for a mixture of 6 and 8 wide. 6 wide for the front and boiler, 8 wide for cab and tender. I will make sure there's enough room for the headcodes at the front.- 578 replies

TRAIN TECH Help, General Questions & Talk to the Staff
Steamdemon replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Ok, so swiveling bogies, that would probably mean I would want to put the power functions in the tender. Would still need about 8 25mm rubber bands, 2 PF train motors, and 8 small wheels....and the polarity switch. @ColletArrow @icemorons thanks for the advice. As for Locomotive basis, I'm going to research several possibilities. I'm not sure on what colour I should do it in though. (I'm tempted to use LDD to plan this one out).- 578 replies

TRAIN TECH Help, General Questions & Talk to the Staff
Steamdemon replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Say that I was planning my next steam locomotive, And I decided on a Mallet wheel arrangement. Should I have one set of driving wheels fixed, and the other set moving? Or should I have both sets moving? Talking about an 0-6-6-0 formation.- 578 replies

Trial by Jury - Conclusion
Steamdemon replied to mediumsnowman's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I'm usually good at spotting contradictions, but this was a whole new level for me. I'm going to wait for the next Mafia school before I try again. Oh well, Well played Kwatchi! (So the judge was in on this the whole time?) Again, apologies for the drop out. Where's my dunce cap? -
Mum and Dad bought home 6747 Race Rider from my late uncle's house. They've been clearing out his home (FYI, my uncle died on the 2nd of December last year, and the funeral was on the 19th of December. That's all I can really say at the moment for this). I've recently finished building it, and it's quite a cool set. 2009, not sure when it was discontinued.

This time, it's not lego. I've just ordered a 128GB microsd card for my Nintendo switch. EDIT: Ordered 60150 PIzza Van and 31072 Extreme engines from the online lego shop.

Welcome to the forums. I know that feeling when you get back into LEGO. the first set that actually got me back was the super soarer LEGO Creator set. I joined the forums last year, and let me tell you, seeing all those Train MOCs really excites me. You'll love it here.

I think you messed up the quote there. One of my favourite Narrow Gauge locomotives is Edward Thomas of the Tallylyn Railway. The reason I say this is because her brother from the fictional Skarloey Railway, Peter Sam, has a Giesl Ejector. I can relate to that, as I'm Dyspraxic and have ADHD...

A tea making class 17? Cool. I like diesels that are unique, Like BHP D20 from Austrailia. JACKSHAAAAFTS! (cause that's what those outside driving rods are called on a diesel locomotive) and OBB 2095 And yes, this came from a train simulator that I used to play on called Trainz: A New Era. Creator of this lovely Austrian diesel was Michael Heussler (michael-h on the AURAN Trainz Forums.) One of my favourite Italian Steam tank locomotives is this: MPW57 is credited for this photo. This is the Italian State Railways class 940, or FS Class (Grupo) 940. It's a Baby Mikado steam tank (Yes, Baby Mikado is the term I use for any tank locomotive which has the wheel formation of 2-8-2). And yes, I actually think Italy was a master of building Franco-Crosti Locomotives, but that's my own personal opinion, despite being from the UK. http://www.douglas-self.com/MUSEUM/LOCOLOCO/locoloco.htm The above link is full of really cool information about unique and unusual locomotives. (Hope I'm not going off the rails here.)

@ColletArrow 2601, Kruger Class was the slightly bigger sister...Abedare was a Mogul, 2601 was 4-6-0, but that was a protoype for the Mogul formation 2602... Honestly, Abedare is a lot more prettier. This here: is Kruger Prototype 2601. By Andy Dingley (scanner) - Scan from Howden, J.R. (1907) The Boys' Book of Locomotives, London: E. Grant Richards, pp. facing p. 138, Public Domain,

Wow, that's an awesome photo, Nik. Welcome to the forums! Found another cool GWR Locomotive, sadly hasn't been preserved: Don't know who took the photo, but the class of the locomotive is GWR Class 2600, aka William Dean's Abedare Class. It's a Mogul. Locomotives with sideskirts are cool. Another favourite is the American Challenger Class: Photo by Anthony Wessel.

I've made another order with WLWYB/We Like What You Build on Brickowl. 10 1x1 flat tiles, black. I guess I'm more experienced with Brickowl than with Bricklink. But it doesn't hurt to check both.

Post about Cartoons and Anime you like
Steamdemon replied to Peppermint_M's topic in Culture & Multimedia
CardCaptor Sakura: Clear Card, Black Clover, Boruto, One piece (annoyingly, not in my region. GAH!) and Super Sentai. (Favourites are Engine Sentai Go-Onger and Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger. If there was a service that showed super sentai for those outside of japan, but you had to subscribe to it, hell, I would press that subscription button!) -

Natsu sadly passed away, not sure when, but this morning, he was cold to the touch... I'll miss you buddy. -
My Package from brickowl arrived today, and I've placed 2 more orders with the same people. so that, along with other Brickowl stores gives me a total of 22 pieces, costing £11.46.

Then what do you think of this? https://goo.gl/images/LBft2V Gah, can't copy images on phone. Anyway, what is the cab space of the Breuer type 4? (beeen tempted to call it Mk 4.)

Are you saying that the FS 207 is the shortest standard gauge diesel shunter to be built? Blooming heck! Of course, we have the smallest standard gauge steam locomotive to be built, Peckett 1900, aka 'The Flying Bufferbeam'! Anyway, that's a really cool build you've done. I didn't know those 9v micromotors could be used like that! (Is the shunter still there?)

Just ordered 10402 Fun Future from Amazon. I would have got something after volunteering, but unfortunately, I wasn't feeling well.
