Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
ddavid replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
But if those numbers are true: 10265 - 3,93 kg - 48 x 11,8 x 28,2 cm they should result in ca. 3.500 pc (with the same pc/kg density like in DD) A lot of modular MOCs have 3.000-3.500 pieces, so I guess a 3 story corner building will work. So the price should be hovering around 205€/245$ That’s unfortunate, cause the familiar 150€ mark seemed to be a prefect balance between overall looks and price. On the other hand a 3rd in the row two story corner building would be weird. -

Yeah, and it could have been partially true. On YouTube there is a video where the designer tells that the Diner was intended to be a car dealership, but it didn’t work because of the too small footprint. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Yeah, me too, but we'll have to wait at least another month for some serious leaks to come out. Every year lego is trying harder to keep its projects secret as long as possible. I would like to know at least the name of the next modular. Every year people are guessing the same things: a post office, a police station or a museum (that are generally important to every city and should sell quite well), but they are almost never right (we partially got a bakery in AS - as a pastry shop, without bread and a policewoman in DO). I don't have any other ideas though. Maybe a supermarket (unlikely) or furniture store of some type (?). I still think a post office would fit perfectly in the series. Now we also know that the modulars can be in very different architectural styles, but I hope for a more european, Parisian Restaurant style building, especially that it should retire soon. After Palace Cinema retired we got another very American building (DD), so a 19th centry-like style modular should be released to fill the vacant spot. But please no restaurants/diners! And this building should be a corner one, so a typical parisian one would be perfect for that. I guess another idea would be 2 half size holland style building (just like Pet Shop), that would look nice next to the Market Street. IDK I'm just rambling to relieve my excitement a bit - I just hope I won't be dissappointed (I still have a "second chance" to spent my money on the roumoured world building series set and the Architecture Paris Skyline). -

OMG! A free fall tower! That will be na epic set. Just as fun as the rollercoaster, if not more! And the footprint will also be much smaller. Thanks @PrisonBrick! Are there any news about the other set numbers? -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
ddavid replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Last year I was excited for a rumored creator expert landmark set, but I was really disappointed to see a uninteresting rerelease. So now I hope I won’t be disappointed again and we will see a original set (I’m biased, cos I love Paris, so an updated Eiffel Tower I would certanly buy) I don’t really have any ideas for what could it be. Someone suggested a Chinese temple and that would be quite interesting. (They are not that big though, so it would be mini figure scale and although it would be fun, I don’t think it is what this line is about) The White House at this scale would also be almost minifigure scale (again, the same "problem") Louvre would be an interesting creation, but it’s another all TAN building. It’s high time for Tower Bridge to be retired, but saying that it will be replaced with the (gorgeous, red) Golden Gate Bridge would be just wishful thinking. -

Yeah. The same with me. Every 3 years Lego releases a new Landmark (Taj Mahal doesn’t count. In the interview Jamie said that they had an additional production slot that didn’t affect the amount of planned sets to be released), so in 2019 we are due to having one! -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

If those numbers from Amazon are true: 10264 - 6,56 kg - 58,2 x 9,1 x 48 cm 10265 - 3,93 kg - 48 x 11,8 x 28,2 cm than one these sets will be bigger than AS (4,6 kg; 7,7 x 48 x 58,3 cm) According to Amazon "normal sized" modulars weigh appr. 2,8 kg meaning we could expect sets with around 5,500 pieces and 3,500 pieces. Thanks @TheLegomane for the news! And the modular building usually gets the first creator expert set number in each year, but 5,700 pieces seem too high. 3,500 for a 3 storey corner building are more reasonable. My guess would be that the first set is some kind of landmark or sth. -
Has anyone else noticed the holes for pin connection on this set? This means it will be able to connect to either the big Hogwarts Castle or maybe some future sets. I like this approach Lego is starting to make: Just like with the Ninjago City and Ninjago Port.

And all the students are kids - with short legs and this is kind of cute and I can have it, but I want normal sized minifigs in the D2C hogwarts. It's kind of cute. AND the best thing: the roof is GREY!!!

I would guess that this set won't be a LOT bigger than the Joker Manor, becouse Lego likes to make things quite compact. It can be tall, but I wouldn't expect enything bigger than 1m x 0,5m. But that's only my guess. Some pieces have to go towards the entrance, ticket booth, mabye a food stand, trees, flowers (just like in the Ferris Wheel). The Joker Manor set has a whole, massive building in the middle and we won't see it in this roller-coaster (I hope)!

Ok, according to a reliable source the 10261 (we think the coaster, but the set name is TBA) will retail at 320€ / 384.99$

The employees from the Lego store are often helping me to find the minifigs I want, so the 3 of us are standing there and trying to feel some distinguishing features. :D

Yeah, I guess I won't have all the CMF but I'll try to buy all the sets. Sometimes you can find on Amazon come great deals! Yes! The Cloud City! It was rumoured for the past 2 years, and maybie we'll get it this time. And there are some other cool sets coming like the D2C Rollercoaster and the 2 new Architecture sets! I'm overwhelmed and I will have to skip a lot of fun, little sets, because the small 10- 15€ sets and a cuple CMF add up very quickly :)

I don't know if this was posted before (or am I even allowed to post it here), but I found an interesting leak, supposedly from a lego catalouge (for retailers, not customers). The HP and FB sets will come out on August 2018. [OK, I have deleted the link - You can't post any links to confidential images. Just search on http://anjsbrickblog.blogspot.com] There is no info about the D2C Hogwarts.

It's not so certain. They didn't make a 2nd CMF Ninjago Movie series, although I think it sold fairly well. I would guess that we will get a 2nd series if the HP sets sell well and they will make new ones from the later movies

The news came that the Las Vegas set will be redesigned to remove the Mandalay Bay Hotel from the skyline. This means that the set will come up in September and not in a month, as we previously thought. I would like to see which building will replace this Hotel. My guess would be the castle-like Excalibur.

Yeah. The Great Wall looks good, but he hills look a bit weird. I’m surprised though, how good the Statue of Liberty looks. The only thing I would change are the colour scheme. It looks like the statue is Green instead of Sand Green. And the right arm is too straight, but I guess it’s hard to do anything more complicated in this scale

I’m really excited about the Great Wall of China- it will be a must-buy for me, but I don’t know what to think about the Statue of Liberty -It is certainly a well known monument, but it doesn’t really fit into the Architecture line. Idk. I will judge when I see the model.

Do we know anything about any classic Architecture sets (a single building, not a skyline) that will be coming later in the year? Normally we should get 2 "normal" sets around the beggining of summer. And I read rumours that there will be a 10th anniversary set of the Architecture line. I just hope it won't be 1) something like a mix of the Architecture studio and the celebratory "Think different" sets 2) It won't take the place of one or both sets, that we would normally get.

I agree with the others that the 90$ Great Hall won’t be the whole structure but more of a hint of the Great Hall. We get a lot of minifigures so I would guess that the price per piece will be around 0,15 $. So we would get a set with around 600 pieces (it could also be something like 500 though) and that’s something to work with. The layout of the Great Hall will probably be similar to the one from the 4842 Hogwarts Castle: 2 tables for the students and one for the teachers. I wouldn’t expect a lot more than longer tables to accommodate more minifigures and a bit more bricks used for the walls. We also can’t forget about the play features like the movable banners (or sth. like that) that will use up some bricks too (more than in the previous iteration of the model). And we have to remember that this is a licensed set and not "fun in the park - wizards edition" :D So the ppp will be higher than with non licensed sets.

It could look a bit boring, but also less cheap and more realistic. It wouldn’t look like a princess castle but more like an actual, real castle. It also looks a bit "cooler" and spookier. I would be disappointed to see the tan+sand green combination. I would be happy if they changed either of the colors (The green roofs will probably stay, only because they give the model a pop of color). I would be disappointed but I would still buy it — better to get something than nothing (even if it costs 500$). The model would be very bad (ala the Death Star) for me not to buy it. Will see how it turns out and maybe it turns out to be great!

What would be great if in the new series of Harry Potter Lego chose more realistic colors for the castle, because in the sets it is very bright, but in the film the walls are darker and the roofs are mostly grey and not sand green.

But Lego does those things: like with the Disney Castle that is still available and the CMF are long gone. Even worse is the situation with the Ghostbusters HQ that if you buy now, you won't have the very important Ecto-1, and the HQ is designed to house this wehicle. So this is very possible to happen. (But I wouldn't mind, and if we get another series, regular customers won't as much too.)

yes, but it can also look good as a display piece (kind of like the disney castle or even the Joker Manor)
