  1. I would like that to be true! I guess the D2C Hogwarts will be populated by characters from the first 3 books/movies, so a 2nd series of CMF would be great for "updating" the Castle :) It would be interesting though to see how much of the Catle will the Designers choose to represent: only the most important parts, but the rooms more true to their original size, or a lot of small rooms that barerly fit 2 or even one minifig. I think I would be happier with the second option. There are a lot of fun rooms and spaces (I especially would like to see the Grand Staircase with paintings), and it would be a shame if there weren't included.
  2. After the Great Hall and the CMF there will be a lot of Wizards minifigures around. I think Hogwarts will have a similar construction to the Disney Castle - with an open back (I can’t think of another alternative. Something like with the Ghostbusters HQ won’t work because of the structure of the building, and sth. like the Modulars would not be good for playability (and Lego always has to keep it in mind sigh!). And than we could just get the basic minifigs (like 7-8), because all the interesting ones will be covered by the CMF or other HP sets. I think I would like this approach because than the castle would have more detailes and wouldn’t be forced to host 15-20 minifigs
  3. But this set is intendent to be a play set, so there might be some inaccuracies
  4. Thanks @Kez for the new info! I really like nature and I'm really curious about the Whipping willow and its mechanism that swings the branches! What I'm hoping for in the great Hall is the Sorting Hat. It's a fun little detail that could be added to the scene. And if it isn't in the set, that it should be in the CMF collection.
  5. I like the book, but I especially love the move and the soundtrack is just magnificent! BUT I don't think it will happen. We now only get the Harry Potter sets because of the Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald movie that will drive sales on all thinks connected to magic. As long as we don't get any movie from the Middle-earth universe I would say it's very unlikely that we get a second wave of The Lord. Although I'm an even bigger fan of Lotr than HP I keep my hopes down. But I guess everything is possible
  6. I was going to say the same thing. For example the creator sets always skip one or more numbers: there was no 31061 set, although there are sets 31054 to 60 and 31062-70
  7. @4nt0n I would say that it is a very very good chance thst this will be the Hogwarts castle. Even Brickset says so brickset.com/sets/71043-1/) :)
  8. You could to the same with the previous harry potter wave: 4867 and 4842 connected to make a bigger castle. But this time is a bit different. And the difference is that this is a D2C set and those sets are always complete models. I don't think there is a D2C set that can connect with other sets. Modulars and Winter Village don't count becouse there are a part of a series and you just add another set to your town, but you don't combine them into a bigger model.
  9. In the video he talks about the D2C Hogwarts and that it could not be a minifig scale model, but rather microfigure scale like the UCS Helicarrier or the Ideas Saturn V. If thats true this will see a accurate model of the hogwarts castle, becouse in a minifig scale its truly impossible to do that without spending a ton of money. And than it would make perfect sence to make a seperate minifig scale Great Hall set.
  10. I don't know if that was posted on the forum, but there is an interesting video from The Brick Show that sums up all the rumous about Lego Harry Poter https://youtu.be/K03USfDv7sg
  11. :) Recently I had the same feeling with the 2018 Modular: Downtown Diner when all rumours from 3 different Lego forums started to come together. Than a leaked photo apperared and a few weeks later we had the official announcmet.
  12. We will probably also get the big D2C Hogwarts Castle and it would be strange to pay over 300$ for a set without a very important part of the building. We could also get 2 Great Halls, but this idea doesn't speak to me. I'm a big fan of trains and I would be thrilled to see a new Hogwarts Express, but I really doubt that will happen. I don't really know what could this set be. Maybe just a unspecific part of the castle or sth. idk.
  13. Brickset already shows prices to almost all sets. And when Brickset posts some new information its almost allways true! The sets are priced at: 15, 25, 30, 70, 90$ + the unknown price of the "Castle" set. https://brickset.com/sets/theme-Harry-Potter/year-2018 The most exciting thing is the 71043 - with a "Hogwarts Castle" and most importantly the D2C tag. This will be the second D2C set in Lego Harry Potter. And we all know that D2C sets are large, detalied and cool! And from some other leaks we know that the set will have a similar piece count as the awesome 7140 Disney Castle retailing at 350$. I doubt that it will cost 500$ like some leaker said, becouse it would be pretty much out of the range for many people. I thing with over 4000 pieces we can get a good representation of the of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry :) And there is another interesting information: the 90 $ 75954 is tagged "General" - meaning it will be something from the surrounding of the School, without connections to any particular Movie. In the past "General" sets were the Hogwart Castle, Hagrid's Hut and the Hogwarts Express.
  14. Yeah that's more likely, but than we will get something more basic like the 60097 City Square from 2016 or 60026 Town Square from 2013. Nothing with the quality of the creator expert series. City sets have to be easy to build for kids (target: 9-12). Because of that they are not as detailed and have more bigger parts that make up entire sections of the model.
  15. I don’t think so. Every year we get a new vehicle and I’m guessing this will be the 10262. This year we also should get a new addition to the fairground series - the rumored coaster. But maybe we get a town plan instead of it. Lego could also think we got the idea of a town plan in the Assembly Square, but now I’m just speculating.
  16. Someone in the creator expert forum had the prices for the next creator expert sets. The 10263 will be a Winter Willage set (Brickset doesn't lie) So after the Downtown Diner we have only 2 D2C sets to concider: 10261: 99.990Ft. converted ~ 320 € (coaster) - a bit expensive for me, but will see how it will look like 10262: 44.990Ft. converted ~ 145 € (car/train) - hoping for a train! My budget is on the on the verge of bancrupcy. I will HAVE to buy the new Hogward Castle (300-400 €) and have already planned to spent exactly 790 € for some sets from 2016 and 17 that were on my wish list. Heh. I will have to skip the Big Ben and the Architecture Shanghai to "make room" in my budget for the roller coaster :( And I haven't yet taken into account the 2 new UCS Star Wars sets...
  17. I knew it would be impossible to fake it. And now we know it. It looks quite interesting, but a bit narrow. And I think it’s a corner building because the windows of the building are on both sides. And the freebie for the 60th anniversary is awesome too!
  18. What?! Since when do burglars know that Lego sets are sth more than a toy :) ? I thought they would steal things like idk electronics, cash, jewelry or sth like that, but Lego? It’s quite hard to transport too. And wasn’t the police able to track them down? Like when they are selling those modulars or other valuables. Anyway: that’s horrible!
  19. Yes its a choice between the relatively low priced knock off and the hugely overpriced real set from eBay. None of the options are good. Hmmm... What I do is just collecting the modulars that were available at that time. For the money I would spend on a retired set I much rather buy a couple of sets with a lot more pieces in total I accepted the fact that I won’t have a complete collection (Lego would have to rerelease a bit more modulars than just GG or CC) :)
  20. When you buy sets from knock off brands you support them and what they are doing - stealing intellectual property. They don’t spend any time trying to come up with their own ideas!
  21. Yes, your abservations are true, but the diner has to be real. I haven’t noticed it, but now every time I look at the picture it is very obvious. Every time I look at the diner I can now only see the chefs ears!
  22. The leaked image got removed and on brickset The next modular building is called {Diner}.
  23. The image is already out and a lot of people have saved it. We all have seen it, so it wouldn’t make any sense for TLG to remove this image. It’s too late for any moves. So the official release will follow soon. Max a week.
  24. Wow!!!! That's a AMAZING model! I myself collect train models in H0 scale (not Lego), but I never tried to build a model of an actuall train. Your Locomotive looks so realistic and I don't think any Lego designer could make a better model than yours. It;s trurely a masterpice!
