Well, shit . . apparently the app can only be installed on phones or iPads with ARKit capabilities, meaning both my phone and iPad are too old and outmoded to use it. And I was so excited . .

I wasn't sure where to put this, but we have leaks for new Micky and Minnie figures, as well as Chip and Dale in conductor's uniforms. I suspect they're from the new Disney Train D2C.

That is both gorgeous and exactly the kind of thing I'm trying to do (albeit with only one rail at present) thanks so much!

I suppose I should have clarified; yes I intend to put it on the inside of the curve. And it doesn't have to be a spectacle, it's going to be sandwiched between two large buildings and a wall. I've run train tracks around the backs of some Modular Buildings and ended up with a gap on an inside curve that I want filled, it's that simple. I just want something passable that'll look better than a big open space between buildings and rail line (in a part of the city that currently does not have a train station). This is not something that I intend to put on display at a convention, or for people to look at more than briefly. It doesn't have to be a work of art, I just want something that works. Thanks for all your input!

Hey all, just a quick question; I have a curved rail in my city layout where I want to add a small train station. It's right in the corner, so it's somewhat out of the way. I'm just wondering if anyone can point me to some designs for platforms that fit curved rails? All the ones I've found are only for straight tracks.

What do you use those for? And I thought street date was August 1, next Thursday?

LEGO Hidden Side 2020

Okay, so I'm looking at the Intercept Bus 3000 (in MandReproductions' review) and one of the stickers shows what looks like some kind of humanoid mech. I want to say it also resembles a water tower (as in a water tower that has been possessed and turned into a massive ghostly monster, which you have to admit is a very cool idea for a set), but I'm not certain. Point is, I'd suspect this is foreshadowing for a future set, either a big ghost monster or a ghost-fighting Mech in the vein of the Intercept Bus and the Banana Truck. Discuss? -
Personally, I'm suddenly reminded of Skylanders in discussing this little promotional set; in addition to the main playable figures, Activision created 'Magic Items', additional toys that could be used to unlock in-game benefits. It's possible that 40336 will, when scanned as a set, unlock some kind of bonus stage or secret boss ghost in the game, or something along those lines.

LEGO Hidden Side 2020

Are you certain there won't be a TV show? Or at least an animated short like Atlantis got back in the day? Because the footage they released at SDCC felt a lot like it was an excerpt from something longer. In particular, when jack and Parker first see the teddy bear, Jack's first reaction is "It's that teddy bear from the painting," What painting? why would they make a reference to a 'painting' if they were never going to show the painting? I think this points to some animation existing that's going to be released down the line. -
I actually quite like a lot of this series. The standouts for me are the Care Bear colourful panda (because I have a Cloud Cuckoo Land MOC in progress where they'll be right at home) Fox Suit Girl, Fright Knight and, surprising though it may be, the Firewoman. I can't wait to update the firefighters in New Babylon (my city) with printed arms and side leg printing. I like the gamer too, and I hope they reuse that console controller part.

Ghosts to add to Hidden Side?
Fenghuang0296 replied to Fenghuang0296's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I agree completely. I'm actually working on a museum MOC for Hidden Side where the roof opens and a giant eyeball comes out. The Scary Knight would be perfect as a display inside the museum. -
I really hope that that promotional set is widely distributed. It looks gorgeous and I would love to have it. Unfortunately it seems to have exclusive stickers so it can't be easily built out of existing parts . . I wonder if it'll work with the AR or if it's just a model? Either way it looks perfect for my village and I want it.

LEGO Hidden Side 2020

@Aanchir Amen to everything you just said. I fully agree, but would like to point out that it's mostly the interestingly-designed boss ghosts we want - from what I've seen so far, primarily the highwayman in the box art of the Banana Truck (yes I know that's not what it's called but it's a cool name and now I want an actual Banana Truck), the ghost kraken in the Boat set and the electro teddy bear we saw in the trailers. The 'low-level' ghosts mostly aren't very interesting, no. (Though the Hydroman minifigure of FFH certainly looks like one and I intend to use him as such.) -
I'm looking at the leaked CMF knight and he looks like he has a ghost face. Might be useful for Hidden Side customisation? I've been working on a custom Hidden Side museum that fits the ghost theme, so it could definitely have a place there.

So, does anyone else have any bright ideas about minifigures we can use as ghosts to add to the Hidden Side sets? The Ninjago and Ghostbusters ghosts are the obvious ones, but a lot of those are green and Hidden Side makes it fairly apparent that ghosts are supposed to be red, blue and yellow in this theme. While I have no doubt that that's a secondary concern to most, myself included, for the sake of variety I want to come up with some other options. And there are a lot, as the definition of 'ghost' can be stretched very thin. Shall we, for example, consider skeletons as ghosts? They are undead. Zombies could be ghosts possessing corpses too - highly appropriate for the Graveyard set. Dementors from Harry Potter could be considered or reinterpreted as spectres. Out of my browsing, my favourite minifigures to use to represent the red, yellow and blue 'spectrums' of ghost have been the two variations of Flama from the first year of Nexo Knights, and Hydro Man from this year's Spider-Man sets. Honourable mentions to Nexo Knights' Rock Monsters - possessed statues, anyone? - the recent Overlord spectre minifigure of Legacy Ninjago, and basically the sum total of CMF Series 14, with emphasis on the Banshee. If anyone else has thoughts or suggestions, or wants to share some designs for custom ghosts of their own, I'm excited to see what you can come up with!

LEGO Hidden Side 2020

We're looking at the same bus, right? XD In all seriousness; if there's one thing I want from 2020 it's more representation for the actual ghosts. There was a new trailer last night that showed a lot of crazy ghosts, including a massive Gozer-like teddy bear that I really wish made it into one of the sets and will definitely MOC. The head swap ghosts just aren't enough for me. -
Cool! I love the giant electric teddy bear, shame that version of the bear isn't in any of the sets. The regular-sized teddy bear that got leaked a while back doesn't really cut it, so I might MOC something like that . .

Yes, get the set. I turned mine into a big MOD Modular Building, but it's good just as it is. (You'll get the most enjoyment out if it if you have a city to put it in - also I highly recommend stripping out the pizzeria and turning it into some other kind of shop. Mine now has a board game shop.) -

Looks like a pretty sweet set. I might get it if the price is reasonable and I can make the room in my city. Or scrap it for parts Unfortunately, the main building doesn't have a lot of visual appeal . . the sports shop is possibly he nicest part of the set, followed by the ski rescue vehicles. Kinda surprising this wasn't around at the same time as the Arctic stuff . . -

The Lego Batman Movie Wave 3. I love putting it next to Hydroman, Moltenman and Clayface. All I need is an Air Elemental and I'll have assembled monsters of the five great elements; earth, air, fire, water and dairy! XD -

And don't diss the design principles of Juniors sets, either. I haven't gotten many in my time - outside of Toy Story, the only one I can remember was Emmet and Benny's Workshop earlier this year. However, the large preformed car chassis found an excellent home as part of the Technic superstructure in a large MOC I'm currently working on. Juniors has useful stuff. Personally, I think it's very likely that it will be a comics Mysterio, and no biggie. Honestly I'm not that interested in collecting all variants of a given character anyway, so it's an easy pass for me. That said, for those who care I'm happy for you. -
The sailor had the tentacles, remember? Also, I'm sure that I saw a ghost kraken in the art of the boat set. Which is probably a good indicator of where the theme's going. Oh, speaking of the tentacle part, that reminds me; I am very happy to have confirmation of a second wave. Because the tentacle part is exclusive to the boat set in this wave, but they're bound to reuse it somewhere in Wave 2. Yeah . . I said that . .

Can someone who speaks, um, German? Give me a TL:DR on that review? One thing I'm partilarly interested in; does the train look like it's made to accomodate Power Functions? Also, Demons aren't new territory for Lego. Putting aside the villain factions of the first two years of Nexo Knights, remember the Ghostbusters 2016 set? Ecto-1 & 2? I'm pretty sure the ghost included there was directly referred to as a demon. Correct me if I'm wrong, though, Speaking of which, can I just say that Hidden Side and Ghostbusters mesh remarkably well? I'm certainly going to use that demon, for one thing, to decorate one of the Hidden Side sets with a real ghost (alongside the Ninjago ghosts, Flama variants from NK and a couple of others I've picked up, including a rather amusing custom I made with the poorly printed Mercy face from Overwatch).
