Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
Fenghuang0296 replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Really nice episodes. Granted, I thought it would have been harder for the ninja to find a way back to Ninjago - also, I sort of expected the Tea dropped in the Land-Bounty to somehow magically grow into a tree. Come to think of it, when Lloyd found the Land-Bounty a couple of episodes ago, why didn't he just take the Tea from there? This whole thing seems like the ninja have unknowingly dodged the whole 'Traveller's Tea grown in Ninjago doesn't work in the Nether-Realm' issue, which makes that entire limitation kind of pointless - did they add that line to ep 115 at the last minute just to make the mid-season finale that much more dramatic? Still, yay for yetis!- 4,591 replies

I really want 20th anniversary Kenobi. Does anyone know how that’ll happen? I still don’t get Brickheadz, myself. Kinda thought they’d cancelled it. -

Maybe I’m just tasteless, but I thought episode 19 was hilarious, albeit pointless. 20 was incredible all around, though. The mech was amazing, Lloyd was brilliant, I really thought Akita was going to finally reveal her human form for a moment (‘Red’, ha) and Cole is . . probably better at singing than drawing. XD I’m just surprised it took Lloyd so long to recognise the mech. I realised what it was the moment it came on screen. Oh, also, th ice around the cave looked different to the ice everywhere else. I think Zane intentionally sealed off the cave to protect himself from the bird. Also, they did the ‘sad music and flashbacks’ thing they do whenever a character dies but I don’t believe for a second that Zane’s really dead. The recording was touching all the same.- 4,591 replies

Disney Princesses 2019 - Rumors & Discussion

I personally haven’t been a fan of the Clock Tower and Ehomping Willow sets and didn’t get either - my Hogwarts currently consists of the Great Hall, a couple of buildings I salvaged from the 2010 Hogwarts I got as a kid, and some MOC content (I added an entire floor of classrooms underneath the Great Hall). Adding the Arendelle castle to Hogwarts is actually a really great idea, I might just do that. It can be a student accomodations wing/building. Maybe even a girls’ dormitory? I do like the teal and light aqua roofs. I wasn’t a fan of the tan, but now that connecting it to Hogwarts has been mentioned I approve. -

A bulldozer and a lighthouse? Plus a residential house for Jack? Oh man I hope that list is real. If Jack’s Haunted House is the fourth on the list, it’ll probably be at a medium range price point. Which means it should be relatively small and thus easy to integrate into a city, hopefully. -

So, totally unexpected and awesome Frozen II leaks! Here’s my thoughts; The treehouse and Arendelle castle are the clear standouts of the line. Very interested to know who the guy in the treehouse is, possibly a love interest for Elsa? I’m also seeing standing runestones in the background of the treehouse set, definitely potential there for MOCs. The castle is simple but elegant, and looks like a major improvement over the old Arendelle castle. The ice music box set with Elsa and the horse made of ice looks cute, but I’m not really sure what it does; I’ll reserve judgement because it looks good but it doesn’t look like it’s really minifig-scaled, more like a human sized music box with Elsa as a decoration. Also, on that topic, I love the new outfits for Elsa and Anna, with the gorgeous black robes for Anna and the lovely new short skirt and boots mold for Elsa. And then we have a Star Wars-style brickbuilt statue of Olaf . . not a fan, honestly. It’s cute, but . . eh. Speaking of Olaf, though, the new minifig-scale design for him is sweet! Shame it only comes in two sets. Then we have the 4+ sets . . eh, what are you gonna do, it’s 4+. The only interest8ng thing there is the set with Sven and a little reindeer . . is Sven going to be a daddy in the new movie? Awesome! I’m almost definitely getting the treehouse, as I already got Elsa’s ice palace and the sleigh set with Kristoff and Sven a while back and the treehouse set conveniently comes with the new character and the new Olaf (which is really bare minimum that I need). Probably the Arendelle castle too, but I’ll wait and see some reviews. The rest I’ll pass on unless something’s revealed about them that changes my mind. Does anyone know the release date? -

So something just occurred to me; all the previous seasons of Ninjago have had 'sub-titles'. Rise of the Snakes, Skybound, March of the Oni, etc. Even the original series was "Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu." But I haven't heard any subheading that the current season falls under, it's just been 'Season 11'. Has anyone heard otherwise? What is this season called?- 4,591 replies

Yeah. I barely go to Shop@Home anyway, and, silly me assuming the promo would only be valid on HS sets, just a couple of weeks ago I bought the Dragon Boat set and the new Ninjago and Spider-Man minifig packs. All together, if I’d just waited that would have been enough to qualify me for the Juice Bar . . oh well. I dn’t have the money to buy up enough sets for the Bar and won’t get enough before the promotion ends, so I’ll have to watch BrickLink for anyone selling them in the secondary market. Why oh why, Lego, did you have to include stickers? Couldn’t you have made it just out of common parts? :(

For some reason it’s $129 AUD, which does not equate to £45 or $50 USD. Australia gets screwed over again . .

Yep, yay eyebrows. But have you seen his normal alternate face on that variant? They finally got rid of that stupid looking bandage and and gave him back his scar! That makes me so happy, even if it’s on the wrong side for some reason.

I hope so, though that might be tricky; all the figures are programmed into the app. Nexo Knights had exclusive variants, even if they were mostly figbarfs of existing parts. But I can’t see how that would work with HS. Unless they programmed specific figures into it just for the purpose of magazine figures, which seems unlikely, or they just include duplicates of the figures from the sets, which would be a bit boring.

Well, 17 and 18 are good plot development and better foreshadowing. I didn't miss the village people mentioning a 'village of the Formlings' that's cursed; what's the betting that Akita's a Formling who's staying in wolf form until she knows Lloyd a bit better? But that means that she isn't the prisoner in the Ice Castle - unless wolf-Akita and human-Akita are somehow separate? Maybe Zane really is the prisoner, even though a lot of clues are pointing towards him being the Emperor. Only thing is, Akita's the only other character in the sets, which means that this prisoner must be a new character who hasn't previously been in a set. Mind; there's precedent for this; we didn't get Harumi in her Quiet One outfit until the Hunted wave of sets to preserve the surprise of her being the secret leader of the S.O.G., so if the prisoner is a new character who's important then maybe they'll return to Ninjago with the ninja and be in one of next year's sets. (My hypothesis; another Formling, possibly a relative or love interest of Akita's. It would be a really great subplot if Lloyd started developing feelings for Akita only to find out she already has a boyfriend.) Speaking of the sets, this explains the Lloyd's Journey set, with Lloyd and wolf-Akita. But Akita's not in the Mech set, which implies that by the time Lloyd has the Mech working, they'll have already released Zane and something will have happened to separate Lloyd and Akita. (Assuming the sets are accurate, of course, which they might not be; as far as we know Sensei never even set foot on the Land Bounty.) I'm also worried about Lloyd's plan; he's betting on the mech, but even without considering the fact that it's probably aged and the battery's almost dead, Aspheera took off its arm. Does Lloyd plan to fight the Ice Emperor with a one-armed Jaeger? (I'm sorry but it looks so much like a recoloured Pacific Rim thing I couldn't resist.)- 4,591 replies

Okay, so I've been rewatching Ninjago with a friend of mine (mostly because she wanted to understand all my references to it), we just got caught up with March of the Oni, and she suggested an interesting theory; what if Omega was the only real Oni there? We see more 'oni' coming out of Omega's shadow (implying that he's creating them), and he's the only one who talks - the rest of the Oni act like animals, but Omega's intelligent. It would also explain why the ninja found the Oni easier to beat than they really should have been - they were all fakes except Omega, and after the Tornado of Creation obliterated all the fake Oni, it was essentially the cumulative power of all the ninja plus Sensei plus Garmadon against Omega alone. It's a headcanon, but it would explain a lot about why the Oni got so hyped and then were so disappointing. Thoughts?- 4,591 replies

I actually like the Black Ace. At least, I did until I saw the RRP . . please price the A-Wing reasonably in AUD, it doesn’t need to be more than $50 AUD, $60 at most, Lego . . And I agree, I can’t wait for more Clone Wars sets. Please give us another Ahsoka minifigure, I’ll buy anything with Ahsoka. -

Pretty sure the real one will hover and that’s just what Lego did for the toy. Maybe the real one will have texturing that looks like a tread which Lego represents with an actual tread. -

Episode 9 sets are revealed, and some surprises here; the new Falcon’s design to close up the gaps is great! Kyle Ren’s shuttle looks just as good as the last one, and I was not expecting the A-Wing to be green. Do we have any word on price points? The A-Wing looks like something I might try to get a few of and army build, but I remmeber that the last A-Wing they designed like this cost a whopping $80 AUD and this one looks like it’s the same size but with one fewer minifigure and minus some side builds, so I’m not optimistic about the price . . I can’t say I’m incredibly interested in the other sets, with the possible exception of the Death Star Cannon. That looks like a great new design for Ben Kenobi, and I like the look of the cannon too. I’ve honestly never cared much for Y-Wings, but that blue astromech is great. Might have to BrickLink it. -

Before this year the sets were all to tie in with Ultimate Spider-Man, however indirectly. (They kinda lost the plot with the 2016 wave but still.) But that show’s cancelled now. They do seem to be trying to make LEGO Spider-Man as much of a thing as LEGO Batman is, though. So . . {shrugs} -

In fairness the various spiders in this year’s ‘comics’ sets were pretty obviously efforts to tie in with Spider-Verse. (I suspect that 2099 was included because someone comic savvy at Lego went “They’re doing Spider-Verse? Then they HAVE to be using 2099, make his minifigure!” And then they saw the movie and went “Wait, no 2099? What?”) and we’ll probably see Noir or Spider-Ham in an upcoming set for next year. I can only assume Kingpin got vetoed because he’s not dangerous enough and can’t carry a set as the included villain. But I hope we’d get Sony sets. Surely Lego can sort out something. -
