Animating water is hard? Maybe that’s why Atlantis only got the one TV special back in the day. Still, makes sense. Honestly, I’m not too cut up about probably never having an all-underwater season. Anyone remember the Katana VII from SOG? I still can’t believe they made a fire themed submarine. An underwater wave would probably just be a whole season of idiocy like that . . though if they did some kind of big sea serpent that might make up for the inevitable ninja submarines . .

Last I checked, the Empire Dragon is the retailer exclusive. I figure that these two will be like the two Skybound sets they tacked on to the Day of the Departed wave, or in a more indirect way how the Evil Harumi minifigure only popped up in 2HY sets of 2020; focusing on material that spoils significant plot elements of Season 12. And I do expect these to be a March/April release, can’t wait to find out what they are! Also, this makes me curious about what the plot of this season will be. It seems like the bad guys’ plan is to free Unagami, because the Temple of Madness shows Unagami in some kind of control room with the main function being about releasing him and triggering the ‘GAME OVER’. (Also for some reason he’s the only character in the digiverse who doesn’t have a health bar except some of the people in the Gamer Market and that’s obviously just budget, so that’s ominous in itself.j But maybe that’s not the end-of-season climax but more of a mid-season change to the status quo? In which case one of the two upcoming sets will represent the ‘real climax’. Oh, and they better not keep Digi Nya as exclusive to that Cyber Dragon. I love her suit but don’t want that set. It is not fair that Jay is in five sets this wave but Nya’s only in two and one of those is a random variant with (I think) recycled prints.

I highly doubt it.

Also, question RE a MOC I’m considering; the one Mandalorian without leg printing in the BP, is their helmet orange or dark orange? I can’t tell and I want to know for the sake of planning.

Please, the minifigure distribution has been all over the shop this last couple of waves. Look at Kylo Ren’s Command Shuttle, I doubt FO Stormtroopers and Sith Troopers ever even saw each other. Plus I doubt General Pryde would be caught dead as a pilot. And that shuttle wasn’t even in the movie, at least that I saw; it was always Kylo’s personal TIE Whisper. (Which had better be a set soon, I know we got the Silencer already but the Whisper is separate and deserves to be its own thing.) I’m saying, does it make sense for LEGO to put Jannah in a set in the future? I’m inclined to think yes; there’s also the exclusive Knight of Ren who’s less relevant but just as important for collectors to get that makes that set desirable from a minifig standpoint.

So, having seen Rise of Skywalker, I really like Jannah as a character - much more than Zorii Bliss, which surprises me given how much promotion Zorii got in the merchandising and marketing. Can we expect Jannah to be in more sets in the future? Because Poe’s X-Wing doesn’t appeal to me . .

OMG! I thought the white markings on the orange one’s helmet were just light reflecting off, but I was wrong! That one has fox ears painted on his helmet and I love it! Great battle pack overall, definitely gonna pick one up when they’re available. This wave is pretty mediocre overall but the battle packs are both great!

Great looking set, definitely going to get it. But one question; what is up with all those extra stickers? They’re great and look really useful but still?

You realise that if you start collecting these you’ll have to get that Venom mech from the Spider-Jet set too? Personally I’m not sold on any of them. The Thanos one is neat but I can’t see myself getting the Spidey or Iron Man ones, not even for the minifigure because it’s not MCU and won’t fit in my Hall of Armour. (How do you put an unnumbered suit is a numerically sequenced display rack?) That said, if this becomes a long-running series and spreads to DC I might get excited, I’ve been wanting a decent Batman mech for quite a while - I know we got one this year but it was flimsy and poorly designed, it doesn’t rate, and the one a few years ago with Grodd was so ugly . . though come to think of it I could probably MOD the Venom mech (which I have to get for Noir) into something Batman themed. Break off the extra arms, remove the white, add some red and yellow . . yeah that might work. I’d also be interested in, say, a Captain America Mech, or - imagine a Red Skull mech . . Or a Doc Ock mech! This line has potential.

Well, before now it’s all been Ideas, D2Cs and Dimensions, and Dimensions is obviously meaningless compared to main product lines (still waiting for Portal II sets, hint hint). I kinda can’t see us getting a full product line for Afterlife. Maybe one set, a la Stranger Things? Though it might be too early to say they’ll never make a follow up set to Byers House.

It’s more about how the colour schemes match so well, but fair. I’m building a semi-custom ‘Sith Battalion’ faction for my layout themed around red and black - I also have the Eclipse Fighter from Freemaker Adventures and Major Vonreg’s TIE, and am looking forward to army building Sith Troopers when that BP releases next month.

Great review! I love this set personally, and am glad to have picked it up. I know it’s a totally different time period (in-universe), but it looks really nice next to Darth Vader’s Castle.

I managed to finally get Darth Vader’s Castle at 32% off from Amazon. It’s gorgeous and I love it, all the more so because structures from Star Wars are so rare.

Has anyone taken a stab at motorising the Ghost Train? I’ve tried, but it’s very difficult. Anyone in the same boat?

I dunno, it looks like it scales wrong next to the PR. Still, gorgeous design. I still don’t have AS or DD, so I’ll prioritise those, but I definitely want this one somewhere down the line.
