Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

The web cuffs are part of the web power blast accessory pack they introduced with the sets earlier this year and are reusing going forward. It’s been in a lot of the Spider-Man sets and I have like three of them already. It’s not new. -

The Spider-Mech is up. I actually kind of like it, but it’s still a pass for me. Just no reason to get it. Also, way to cheap out on the dual-moulded legs, LEGO. -

Hey, aren’t we still missing a Spider-Man mech? -

The last pictures have started leaking! The Thanos mech is surprisingly cool looking. Probably still gonna pass on it, but it could have been worse. And again, the Spider-Jet with Noir and Venom is surprisingly well designed. Spidey still has no reason to own a jet, but I like this one. The four-armed Venom Mech could be better but could be worse too. Definitely going to get it at some point. Plus, Noir! The Avengers Truck also looks better now that I’m getting a closer look. It might be cool with some modifications. Probably still gonna pass on it, but it could have been worse. And the new Spider-Cycle is . . just, what? It looks like the one from this year, but with legs for some reason and possibly partly held together with webbing. That can’t be stable. Easy pass, sorry Anya! And Ock! EDIT: So that’s what a 4+ Mech looks like . . eh, still an easy pass. -

My friend, welcome to the internet. {grumbles} At least you don’t have to put up with Romancer over on the trading card forums. Some people just get their kicks from throwing insults that can’t be traced back to them. Personally, I like a lot of these sets and will probably get most of them. (Sans the admittedly awful beach buggy.) People disagree with me, doesn’t mean I’m going to belittle them. -

Which would actually be way more accurate to the various shows and comics. I can!t even remember the last time I saw a supervillain actually robbing a bank. (A Marvel supervillain, anyway. Who could forget THE UNDERMINER!!!) -

So, do we know where LEGO got the reference material to make these sets? Because I’m comparing LEGO King Trollex with his on-screen counterpart and the hair’s wrong in both style and colour, the arms are wrong, and it’s just inaccurate. So could this actually be a different character entirely? Good news is, it should be possible to fix; grab a purple round jumper tile and a lime green flame piece from that one Scooby-Doo Dimensions pack, and replace the arms with dual-moulded red and yellow Bart Simpson arms. Or maybe orange and yellow . . it’s hard to accurately represent his whole ‘rainbow arms’ thing. Granted, I’m probably the only one who cares enough to actually do this. -

So that he can buy more mechs, obviously. And I know you’re joking but I would totally buy that set. -

I’m still holding out hope for the Spider-Man oh who am I kidding I’m not getting anything from this line. In all seriousness, I do like the leaked Spidey-Noir and I’d certainly like to get the set it comes in provided it’s at the very least a good parts pack. Plus I think I remember hearing Doc Ock was in it and since I don’t have an Ock (I missed the big mech in 2016 and didn’t care for the 4+ version) that’ll be a plus too. The Noir/Spidey plane might be my only Marvel purchase from 1HY 2020. At least, until the Black Widow and Eternals sets are revealed. Hey, is there any chance that the plane might be black and designed to match Noir’s colours rather than Spidey? I know it’s unlikely but that would make it way cooler. -

Fabric? You’re right, huh. That’s an interesting choice. I think the cupcakes are going to be part of a new accessories pack, like the Ninjago weapons pack or Friends accessories. I’m noticing that in a lot of the sets there are new musical note parts in the same colour, as well as between one and three cupcake parts also in that colour. I think we’re getting a Trolls accessories pack. I suspect the connected hair is exactly why they didn’t do Satin and Chenille. It would have had to be fixed, which would have made them hard to play with. And King Peppy has different proportions, he would have required yet another set of moulds and he’s a pretty minor character. (Though so is King Trollex of the Techno Trolls by the looks of the trailers, and they did him . . I guess they wanted him because he’s a much more unique design than the others. He’s my favourite character and favourite type of music though so I won’t complain.) I guess they had to draw the budget line somewhere, even if there is quite a lot of new moulds in this line. Lemme do a quick count. I count eighteen visible new moulds, and that’s counting the music/cupcakes accessory packs as one and not including the fabric pieces. Is that a record? That has to be a record. EDIT: Wait, Branch’s sunglasses and Poppy’s ukulele are new right? Twenty. -

The ‘red Mohawk character’ is Queen Barb, and she’s in the big rock stage set, and the yellow one is Mr. Dinkles, who comes in the balloon set. I really like these! It’s hard to make out a lot of details, though, and apparently there’s seven sets, not six like we first heard. One might be a retailer exclusive. I’m not sure at all what I’ll do with them, but it’ll be fun! -
We didn’t get one this year and have heard nothing about one for next year. Just MOC something, it’s what I did. Also, I just noticed that, for some reason there’s a green hotdog in the Thunder Raider. Still don’t want it, but does anyone know what the point of that is?

So wait, are you the set designer? I’d imagine it would be fiddly. (Personally, as long as you can see the literal light at the end of the tunnel and that, in theory, if a minifigure were to spring to life and walk on its own it would be able to get through, then I’m satisfied.) But, say if you put them both on a baseplate (with a layer of plates and tiles to support the parts attached diagonally) they’d fit together like jigsaw puzzle pieces? Because that would be sweet and way simplify my plans to use them to build on my layout. -
I hope you’re right about the smaller April wave. I’d be very surprised if the summer wave were only four sets - there hasn’t been a Ninjago wave that small since Rebooted, 2014. Plus Ninjago’s a top selling line, they wouldn’t scale it back. As for recurring Legacy sets, here’s hoping! I’m surprised we’re not getting Kai and Zane variants in those Tournament of Elements slash Rebooted hybrid gis. That said, unless they’re in more sets I’ll pass - I have zero interest in the Thunder Raider or Jungle Raider, especially the former because I always thought that the Rebooted vehicles and season in general were a real low point for the franchise.
-
Doesn’t answer the question . . being digital doesn’t mean it can’t be alive, mind. Maybe it’s an AI dragon?
-
So, we’ve seen three Legacy sets; the Jungle Raider, Thunder Raider and Golden Mech. Oh, and the 4+ Fire Dragon. We know that there are more Legacy sets but never got leaked names for them, whereas we have seen all of the Legacies that we did get names for. So does anyone else think that maybe the other two (or more) unknown Legacy sets might be summer releases, and having two or three Legacy sets with each wave might be the new normal? Also, can anyone tell whether Jay’s Cyber Dragon is alive or not? It’s obviously partly mechanical, but some of the pictures make it look alive . .

LEGO Star Wars 2020 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

Eh, I’m going to pass. They’ll probably be insanely expensive and even if I could afford that I don’t have anywhere to put them anyway. -
Given that Zane is apparently sitting out of this season for reasons, I doubt there would be an Arcade Zane. And I think Avatar Nya and ‘Rocky Dangerbuff’ count as the Arcade variants of Cole and Nya, though it is disappointing that we don’t get the proper pods for them. (That said, they definitely could have picked something better as Rocky’s outfit, though I do like the return of the hilarious Flintlocke moustache piece!)

Can anyone tell what that part around Black Panther’s neck is? It looks like he’s wearing a bowl, one of those things they put on cats and dogs to stop them from scratching at wounds, I forget what they’re called. -
I heard Empire Dragon. It was at the end of the set list, rumoured to be $30 USD. Slots like that are usually retailer exclusives. Which might explain why it wasn’t leaked with the rest of this wave.

Wow that Iron Man Mech is ugly . . I’ll reserve judgement on the A-Day (I think that’s what the game’s called right?) sets until we have better images but they don’t look great . . at least my wallet is happy. -
You can make out those names? Can you tell the digi dragons’ names? I can’t make them out. Also, Scott? Really? Interesting . .
