Um. I already preordered the Starter Set. But I'd definitely be interested in the King Boo and Piranha Plant fortress sets just for what they contain, even putting aside the awesome castle. (And I can't wait to combine Bowser's Castle with the Whomp and Thwomp sets to make a proper 'world eight' setup. (I'm young and grew up on New Super Mario Bros and don't really get the nostalgia for anything older than Super Mario Galaxy. Speaking of, I can't wait to use the printed face off a Podaboo to make a custom Luma!)

This was a great season, hands down. Just finished watching it. Some of the earlier episode’s jokes felt a bit juvenile though.

Do we know the release date for the three new sets? I’m curious about Australian prices.

Y’now, I was really happy when they finally introduced new faces in the Prime Empire wave. Just a pity that they were all printed with those visors and apparently the print budget for Master of the Mountain was super low so they went right back . . I’d honestly prefer the Prime Empire visors. Actually, since there’s exactly three different villain designs and half the ninja reuse the same legs from Forbidden Spinjitzu . . come to think, nine new prints for the season’s ninja, six for Spinjitzu Burst, two for Legacy Kai, three for Vania, nine across the Sorcerer, orc and goblin, two for the green skull and the white skull brazier . . unless I missed something, there’s only thirty-one new print designs across this entire wave. That’s sorta sad. Compared to, uh . . four new prints per ninja, plus Scott, two for Okino, Ritchie and Hausner, three for Unagami, Harumi, Sushimi and Red Visor, three for Avatar Kai/Lloyd/Jay, Legacy Cole/Jay/Lloyd . . if I counted right, sixty new minifigure designs in Prime Empire, and that was with them recycling Jay, Kai, Lloyd and Ritchie across half the sets. I really hope they’re just funnelling budget towards next wave.

Dude! This is awesome! I’d already decided against getting either of those sets but now I really want to just so that I can recreate this! Quick suggestion; have you considered trying to order a second sticker sheet for the Jet from LEGO so that you can apply the stickers on the engine cowling and fins to the underside as well so it doesn’t look so plain? Next get two of the Cloud Roadster and turn them into rollerskates for the mech!

This is the part where I get to feel smart for buying Elves stuff while it was available. In all,seriousness, though, I feel that. I only got into the theme in 2017, and managed to pick up a couple of 2016 sets (the Starlight Inn is one of my favourites and it has pride of place in my fantasy display) but some, like the Dragon School and the Fire Bakery, I do regret missing. I’ve looked around the aftermarket for deals on them but at this point I think I just have to let it go. I don’t really have space for them anyway, I suppose.

Yep, which is why the Fortress is the only Bull themed set I’m going to get. (Plus, I don’t know why everyone’s dumping on the Flaming Foundry, I think it looks awesome! I’ll easily skip the giant Bull Demon, Donkey Kong Tank (I cannot be the only one who saw the barrel launching mechanism and thought Donkey Kong) and Red Son Truck in favour of the Foundry. Honestly I haven’t seen the show yet, but I’ve been working from the assumption that Tang is just Red Son in disguise and that’s why we don’t have him. Red Son has glasses on one side of his head after all.

Nexo Knights had Merlok’s Library 2.0. and Jestro’s Volcano Lair. And in year 2 Lance Vs. Lightning was a location set, sort of, and we had Knighton Castle.

Need I remind you that Captain Soto’s ship is the Destiny’s Bounty? Though, come to think, there could be a Legacy Misfortune’s Keep. Or Raid Zeppelin. Just because all the Legacies have been hero vehicles so far doesn’t mean they’ll stay that way . . Though a Legacy Misfortune’s Keep in the same vein as the current Bounty would be huge, definitely a flagship set. I can’t see them doing that, honestly.

I’m pretty sure it has to be Season 14. Other than the Bounty (and the Black Bounty from The Final Battle, technically) the only boat that was significant enough to merit a Legacy set in Ninjago history was the Destiny’s Shadow from 2017. I know there were others but none of them had major roles. (Does anyone even remember when the Katana VII was in the show? And that one unnamed ghost boat was cool but I can’t see it being picked as a Season 5 Legacy over the Morro Dragon or possessed Samurai Mech.) And even four years just seems too early to rerelease a set like the Destiny’s Shadow. Pretty sure it’s gonna be something new.

I thought we didn’t have confirmed prices yet, but @just2good did a video where he said Sandy’s Speedboat is $60 USD, the Cloud Roadster is $70 and the Flaming Foundry is $140 (which is actually thankfully reasonable, given it has about 1,450 pieces). Can anyone corroborate? Yeah, I can see why that’s upsetting. Though personally, as someone who doesn’t collect CMFs, I can’t much complain as it just means more interesting designs and less repeats of the same few torsos and unprinted legs in other sets.

Amen. Though in fairness most of the time bigfigs usually only ever appear in one set, while Sandy’s been in three and counting. Something like making an exclusive bigfig for every set would have been a tall order . . though there’s no reason for them not to have done Lady E, really. I got the Prison at 20% off, and the Castle down to $109 AUD, both at Target for their mid-year sale which is pretty good. The Castle’s disappeared from the site for some reason though.

Okay, these look cool! Sandy’s Speedboat is bulkier than I expected, but it’s still fun. Though I was really hoping for more of a terrain build for the Spider Queen . . I like the Cloud Roadster as well. I won’t get it because I don’t know what I’d do with it, but it has lovely parts and shaping and some really gorgeous prints that I might get on B&P for MOCs. The Flaming Foundry looks like a Criss between Garmadon’s Dark Fortress in 2011 and the Fortrex and it’s cool! I was really expecting it to be mobile, though, and I’m not sure I see the point of having the truck ‘dock’ with it like that. That’s a good thing! It means there’s no pressure for collectors to shell out on the wave 1 sets sets. Previously I’d have needed to get either Red Son’s Truck or the Cloud Jet, the Demon Bull King Mech, the Monkey King Mech, and the Secret HQ for a full complement of characters. Now we can assemble the entire cast between the Monkey King Mech, the Flaming Foundry, Sandy’s Speedboat and the Cloud Roadster. And honestly I won’t have any qualms about skipping the Cloud Roadster and the ‘Horn Demons’, or the Mech with Monkey King and General Ironbark. Now let’s hope the prices for these three sets turn out to be more reasonable than the existing ones.

Unless it’s been delayed, Mandalorian S2 is set for October. Probably enough time for LEGO to do a Winter 2021 set based on season 2. (Though they could and should still do the folding-wing TIE from S1. I want a little LEGO Darksaber!)

Wasn’t there a rumour earlier this year about Jack and Parker being joined by a popular YouTuber (or, y’now, LegoTuber) who Jack’s a huge fan of, coming to Newbury to find out how Jack and Parker do the ‘special effects’ on their videos? And then helping them out upon the discovery that, yes, the ghosts are real? What happened to her? Numi or something like that?

I’ve ordered this from Target already and am looking forward to getting it at the end of the week. Great review!
