  1. I like the idea of posting all your different troops in a single thread. I'm also really taking a liking to your captain, have we seen them in any builds yet. With your elites may I suggest putting the epaulettes under the backpack, I think it would look better that way. I've noticed that all of your troops are very drab in colour, is there areas on for this? Maybe it's just that I prefer the very bright, flamboyant uniforms of the period.
  2. An evil warlord you say, thanks for giving me some insight into how your trying to play the character, his actions seem to make a lot more sense to me now. Just for the record I don't hate the way you play, I think it adds great variety and as I said is very funny. I was just saying you may not want to make even more enemies, however as you've said that's how you would like to play the character which is great.
  3. Don't get me wrong I always find his stories hilarious, especially when he looks at complex situations with a simple point of view. I'm just saying that perhaps he doesn't need any more enemies.
  4. You would insult the honour of Don Montoya? Nice story though, however you should probably be a bit more cautious when talking about your fellow Corlanders.
  5. I like how you've taken the time to understand how a cannon is actually made and then you've recreated that in Lego. Also don't forget to use the free build form.
  6. Firstly welcome to BOBS, I will try to answer your questions as best I can. It is my understanding that Balondia can be spelt either way, it's just a matter of preference/language differences. Yes your sigfig can indeed be from o e of the conquered nations, I in fact would love it if they were, I would love to see those territories fleshed out even more. I believe @Ayrlego created the QML to be a play on the real life Kings German Legion.
  7. A very nice build, I really like the minifigures posing, the architecture and the flags really caught my eye for some reason.
  8. I see, very...uh sophisticated of your sources. Although I must admit I have no idea what the last part means.
  9. And what beverage were they drinking.
  10. Just a question, how drunk were these local drunks?
  11. I would say to maybe go with a mix of a few different Browns, it would add some variety and non-uniformity that I think would suit the WTC.
  12. What a lovely clocktower, Lavalette truly is lucky to have it.
  13. I really love this build, I can't believe I missed it, sure got pushed back a few pages quite quickly. The palm tree design is amazing, even if it isn't yours and the building is very nice. It's also nice to see the sepoys getting some attention, from both you and Bregir, they're a very unique type of troop and there's something exotic about them that just leaves me in awe every time I see them, must be the moustaches!
  14. I can see them just fine Maxim, although I may have experienced this problem as well. Does it just display a small text box with a bunch of numbers and letters (I think it's the URL) in it?
  15. Thank you very much for sharing this information, I was not aware hence my assumption they were to the west.
  16. Very nice series Faladrin, interesting though that you have a Corlander merchant and an Eslandolan scholar.
  17. I think that would be great!
  18. If you don't mind, may I use some of your Mokolei cities?
  19. Well Maxim summed up my interpretation of the Mokolei pretty well. I also think it's worth noting that we've not only seen oriental characters but ships as well, I believe there are a few junks floating around. Anyway I envisioned there being an oriental state further to the west, imagine this. We take a map of Europe and Asia and flip it, as we know the Middle East separates south east Asia from Europe, Europe being Halos, the Middle Kingdoms and the Northern Mokolei Empire being the Middle East and China being a yet unexplored state further West. They were just my thoughts and they are bo no means definitive, I hope they help though.
  20. @Elostirion I would be very interested in joining you to flesh out the NPC nations if it is alright.
  21. @Mesabi I know, I'm not too happy with my photography and the black background is less than ideal. In the future I will make my images bigger if so desired, it won't really be a problem. I'll try to whip up a map to show where we are and the route we are taking and I'll try to find the picture I took of the completed build. @Bodi Thanks Bodi, the torso is actually a printed decal. @Drunknok Thank you and as others have pointed out this is certainly not Corringtons affinity to Science. I'm kind of just trying to build tension between the scientists and the military. Your description of the RSMS was prrtty spot on, I may have to use it in the future if you don't mind. @Bregir As always your builds are fantastic, well done good sir and I will fill out the form shortly. @SilentWolf Thanks Silentwolf, I'm glad your interested. Also should you wish to join the RSMS than consider this your invitation. Seen as I'm the only member at the moment I get to make all the decisions. ;)
  22. "Greetings Captain Fernsby, my name is Captain Abbot, this is Mr. Bardsley representative of the ETTC and this is Lieutenant Downer of the Royal Engineers. Apologies for the quick introductions but if you will please follow me, we have much to discuss before our departure in the morning." 1 Month Later One month had passed and still the expedition had not begun, instead the men enjoyed an unexpected break and the officers dined finely every night. It seemed the only ones not enjoying themselves were the scientists. The lead scientist, Reuben Robertson decided it was time to take action. He and his colleagues had invested heavily in this expedition and were anxious to depart so they could begin their studies. He barged in to the Officers tent and demanded to Captain Fernsby. "Captain, we have been sat idle on this beach for over a month and not an ounce of scientific progress has been made, I demand to know why we have been delayed this long!". Captain Fernsby sighed heavily. "Well my good sir, we are awaiting the arrival of a shipment of gunpowder and a diplomat, one that could perhaps save your life in the near future. Should you wish we can depart tomorrow however I will have you know that elements of the Mokolei nation have indeed acted in an aggressive manner towards citizens of Corrington in the past. So unless you for some god forsaken reason lack the will to live, I would recommend you stay here and only depart once the appropriate supplies and personnel have arrived." Reuben, somewhat shaken by the Captains stern response simply replied. "So what would you have us do in the meantime, my colleagues are no longer content just sitting on a beach." "Well my scouts report sighting a small village nearby, should you wish you may take a small party of men and greet the locals tomorrow." Captain Fernsby said in reply. "And how long ago were you informed of this." Replied Reuben. "Well about a day after we arrived." Replied Captain Fernsby. "So why wasn't I informed." Demanded Reuben, clearly annoyed. Captain Fernsby smiled, "You didn't ask." and with that Reuben stormed out of the tent. Some time later after the ETTC representative and his wife had left Captain Abbot stood up and addressed the table. "Gentlemen, as of the past few weeks Lieutenant Downer and I have been discussing something that I think you will find rather interesting. The establishment of a fraternity that caters to the needs of military officers, the Royal Society of Military Sciences. I would like to take this opportunity to extend to you an invitation into the society so that you may become, along with myself and Lieutenant Downer founding members." Lieutenant Williams was the first to reply "May I ask what sort of activities exactly would the members of this society engage in?" "Well Lieutenant." began Captain Abbot "They would discuss military tactics, study historical battles, the more academically inclined members may even invent new technologies that have innovative military applications and of course they would drink to their hearts content" "An interesting concept for sure, consider me in." Replied Captain Fernsby. "Aye and me too." Said Lieutenant Miller. "Well, I suppose me too." Said Lieutenant Williams. "Fabulous." Replied Captain Abbot. "We will discuss the finer details at a later date." The Next Morning Reuben and his company had departed at sunrise for there was much to cover in the day, with him he to took a few choice scientists and a platoon of Royal army soldiers. After many hours of studying the town and it's inhabitants sunset loomed. As Sergeant Doyle marched his men back to camp he noticed something rather peculiar, a scientist kneeling on a nearby bench observing something through a magnifying glass. Always one to learn knew things he approached the scientist to ask what exactly he was doing. "And what would you be doing good sir." Asked Sergeant Doyle. Somewhat annoyed the scientist began to reply. "I'm making discoveries in the name of...ahh you would never understand." The sergeant exasperated by the scientists aggressive attitude simply replied. "Oh, I beg to differ." Before pushing him into the water. As the sergeant began to walk off in an attempt to catch up with the rest of the party he was suddenly approached by a woman whom he had previously never met. He called out to the party ahead. "Sir, if you need me I will be errrrr making new discoveries in the name of errrrr science in that building over there." The Lieutenant raised an eyebrow. "You will be making discoveries in the name of science in the brothel?" "Errrr yes." replied sergeant Doyle. "Very well then Sergeant, you will rendezvous with us back at camp in the morning." Replied the Lieutenant. "Yes sir." And with that he was off. "You are just going to let him do that?" asked Reuben. "These men haven't had good company in over two months Mr. Robertson, I'm sure punishment can wait until the morning." Replied the Lieutenant.
  23. BAT 69, band of brothers reference? Either way great story and builds.
  24. Hello people who are far better ship builders than I will ever be, in the past few days I'e been attempting my first ship, to be honest at first I had no idea what she was going to be I just started building a ship based on my knowledge of what they look like. From what I have researched it looks like she will be a two-decker 44-gun fifth rate, so far I haven't sought out help as I'm not really trying to build anything too accurate however I believe I have reached an impasse, the bow. It's not that I can't build up from here anymore, I'm just not too sure how high the bow should be. If anyone can offer me some help it would be much appreciated. -Thanks
