  1. Wait a sec, what's this about Bionicle? Edit, saw the Instagram post. Obviously off-topic for this thread, no need to reply.
  2. Just offhand I'd say if Lego refunded the money then they're not obligated to send the sets again. As it now stands you haven't paid for them.
  3. What an incredible hulking bust of a set that would be. I might just turn green with rage.
  4. Wowee! The UCS Falcon doesn’t tempt me, so I didn’t expect to want this one. But that looks so much better than I imagined it would. I want it. I want it so bad. Now that is a minifig scale ship for exploring the galaxy! Edit, so if the Razor Crest is 80 ft long and the Republic Gunship is 58 ft long, and a "true minifig scale" RC is $600 right now, then a "true minifig scale" (as opposed to playscale) RG ought to cost about (58/80)^3*600 = $230. Me, I'd settle for a playscale RG at $130-$140. Now back to admiring the UCS Razor Crest ....
  5. Thanks for posting; my favorite is the Dragon Wagon. It looks very realistic and believable, except that they're some awfully thin bars to hold a great big dragon like that!
  6. That's so Blacktron. I'm imagining a scene where sinister Blacktron agents shove an unsuspecting Classic overboard, right into the gaping maw of a sea monster - that is, I'm imagining the scene from Mandalorian season 2 on the Quarren boat, except with Blacktron. Because that boat is so Blacktron.
  7. It’s just a 1hy list, the big $100+ 3-in-1 set is usually 2hy.
  8. Interesting contrast with the Mr Idler U-wing. What scale is that one built to?
  9. Also, it's easier to XL something that starts out smaller, just from a design perspective. After all, there are plenty of XL versions of the Creator 3-in-1 castle that push into the $300-$400 territory.
  10. What's the source for the parts count of the Quinjet? I don't see a parts count listed on Promobricks.
  11. Bluebrixx is really knocking it out of the park with their Star Trek lineup this year. Wish I had a thousand quid extra (don't we all) to blow it on their big TOS Enterprise, Enterprise D, Klingon bird of prey, Runabout, Delta Flyer, Voyager, and Defiant. And then all the midsize models, too. Between the Monkie Kid Galactic Explorer, the Lightyear XL-15, the 90th Anniversary Galaxy Explorer, the City Space sets, and the Inquisitor Scythe transport and new Jedi Starfighter from Star Wars, this is already one of the best years for Space fans in a long time, but the Bluebrixx Star Trek sets really push it to the next level. I've been wanting these sorts of Star Trek sets from Lego ever since I was a kid, and now they're here! The only problems: they're not from Lego, so the parts quality and instruction quality are bad, and the shipping is expensive and slow; and they're coming all at once instead of spaced out over several years so I can't afford them.
  12. Just a quick fact check, the non-Lego bust you linked is priced at $760, not $300. Customers had the option to pay it off in two installments of $300 and $460, or one installment of $760. It also had a limited run of just 600 units. So the Lego version is, in fact, much less expensive and much more accessible than the highly naturalistic non-Lego version.
  13. Yeah, the puppet-like moving parts on the Bowser are pretty cool, and the price (though high) is better: a bit under 10c/p, instead of way over 10c/p as with the BP bust. I don't know how much the deep-pocketed fandoms of Marvel's Black Panther and Nintendo's Bowser overlap. An $80-$100 set like the other helmets, but with added hands to make the salute pose, would have been a better choice than a $350 life-sized bust: nearly the same target audience, but much more accessible.
  14. On the one hand, this is the obvious choice for a gigantic Black Panther set: the Black Panther costume is by far the most iconic Wakandan design in the MCU, and people mostly care a lot more about T'Challa/Black Panther as a character than about the Wakandan vehicles and weapons. On the other hand, I'm not sure anyone was asking for a $350 life-sized bust of it. Maybe Lego hopes the same people will buy a $350 life-sized Black Panther bust as will buy a $250 Bowser puppet.
  15. The one on the bottom right looks an awful lot like an Eagle from Space 1999. Ironic considering the origin of the Millennium Falcon. Intentional?
  16. https://www.brickfanatics.com/lego-survey-opinions-on-prices-for-huge-sets/ According to Brick Fanatics, Lego has put out a survey asking for people's opinions on whether the really big sets are priced right. The specific examples are the UCS Hogwarts Express, the Motorized Lighthouse, and the Lion Knights Castle. When I responded to the survey earlier today, I said that the Hogwarts Express is way too expensive for the play value and isn't what Trains fans wanted, that the Motorized Lighthouse is too expensive for the parts count and shouldn't be more than $220 (which should be doable, by comparison with the Airbus helicopter), and that the Lion Knights Castle is priced about right for the number of minifigures.
  17. At $500, I bet it’s a great big model of the locomotive, power car, and one ore car from the mining railway, plus a stretch of maglev track and a segment of the ore loading station. Plus twenty minifigs including three versions of T’Challa, two versions of Shuri, and two unnamed mine workers :)
  18. I preferred the older (fake) list. A 771-piece Rocket Transport would have been right up my alley. Nothing in this list interests me. Oh well.
  19. The $80 Quinjet released in 2019 was pretty good, but it didn't have any landing gear and the I didn't like the colors. Here's hoping the $100 Quinjet to be released in 2023 has landing gear and the dark gray color scheme of the 2012 and 2014 movie Quinjets. I'd go for a $100 first-generation Quinjet based on Avengers 2012 or Winter Soldier 2014, but I'm not much of a fan of the second-generation Quinjet introduced in Age of Ultron 2015.
  20. Ky-eeeee on Flickr has been doing a pretty good series of scaled Federation ships from Star Trek. https://flickr.com/photos/koalaexpert/
  21. That would be terrible. Release them all at the same time individually or as two packs, but not in one gigantic box.
  22. Very nice collection, and nice presentation. Your enthusiasm for Classic Pirates is contagious. Do you plan to acquire a complete collection of the newer Pirates and Pirates-adjacent sets to go with them?
  23. Thanks for the ticket, o deep forum lurker. What brings you back to Eurobricks at this time?
  24. Just post, just participate in the forum, and you’ll get 100 posts in good time.
