Train Model 314 Comes from Which Loco?
WesternOutlaw replied to roamingstop's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Here's a set I never saw RS. I actually own a few of those large red wheels from an old basic farm set and wondered how they would look on a train. -

Well done - I still haven't built this train yet. I'd like to see it around the track with the PF motor.- 13 replies

Hi EE - welcome as well and Happy New Year.

Welcome Swen. Some of my earliest experiences with HO scale trains were black & red German steam locomotives by Marklin. Always loved the wonderful variety of DB trains - you've got some great inspiration for building in LEGO. Hope you enjoy the forum. Frohe Weihnachten!

I enjoyed Jamie's video. Makes me want the train even more. Great features inside and out!

You're good. I'd call this an "appropriate bump". Nice job.

MOC: TM III Shunting Tractor
WesternOutlaw replied to LEGO Train 12 Volts's topic in LEGO Train Tech
How ingenious LT12Vs. In addition to the neat little compact design, I love the light feature. Well done my friend! -
I think you'll enjoy it - Merry Christmas!

The four that are the same size (almost 24 inches long x 4 1/2 inches wide) are from Target. They cost $10 each. It's been a few years since I purchased, but Target would most likely still carry them. I've seen them in white as well - their standard 2 foot shelf. The top shelf is a bit different - more fancy. I picked that up in a home store a few years ago. I liked the length as it fits the Maersk and it wasn't much. If you've got a Target near you, check it out. You might even be able to purchase longer shelves. Good luck! EDIT: oh, here's a better shot:

Have you looked at/read the review? It's a beautiful train - in fact, I'd say it's among the nicest designed trains ever made by LEGO. It would certainly look great in a Christmas Village. As with all questions like this, it's a personal preference. If you really like it, I would recommend buying. Each year that Ebay price grows.

Major oops on my part. I saw that car and was thinking KIT for some reason. Excuse my brain fart. -
Next CUUSOO set: 21103 Back to the Future™ Time Machine
WesternOutlaw replied to Blakstone's topic in LEGO Licensed
Real disappointment about the Western Town not making it into the ranks. Back to the Future - okay, K.I.T., David Hasselhoff minifig, perhaps the addition of a rhinestone coyboy hat for a special MOD. That's about it for the highlights. Are there really Back to the Future fans still out there? As a big fan of the 80s, it was up there with the A-Team. At least we have the Lone Ranger theme. Don't know about the Cuusoo process. I'll be reluctant to vote again - theme sets seem better from what I've seen. -
Thanks for the feedback guys. I built this a few years and have long since removed it from a small table in my computer room. I still have the modulars on top of a book shelf with the addition of the Pet Shop. Never got around to the Town Hall. I think this was the last Train Town (#7). Had to lose the water to make more space: Not to get too far off the LEGO Train topic, but the diorama was first eliminated to decluter and dust - that was a great feeling to have cleaned a very cluttered room and table: But the neat and tidy table quickly turned into another display - Playmobil Pirates one summer (in vacation mode at the time): I'm always changing the table with my moods - it's been a LEGO Classic Town, Wild West town, Grave Stone, Fantasy Castle, an Egyptian desert, and even an Indiana Jones Jungle Adventure: Classic Town Restoration Project Indiana Jones Jungle Adventure (one of my favorites) The latest is this WWII diorama: The table is about 3 x 5 feet (approx), but can be extended, and I've added boards to make it wider for the Train Town display. I follow no train community guidelines or standards, just strategically position various baseplates and buildings to fit as much as I can at any given time. LEGO is the most tedious as dusting is really difficult. Thanks again for the recent comments. Hi Gazumpty. Welcome to EB. I must admit that I don't make it to this part of the forum very often but feel honored to be mentioned by you here. Over the weekend, I heard something along this line... As one door closes, another door opens - sort of a nice analogy when a new member joins EB and another leaves. The Architecture theme is a neat one although I only own the White House of the collection. WhiteFang and the others teachers in the Reviewers Academy will certainly help you with your future reviews. Good luck with your LEGO building and if I don't see you around, I hope you enjoy the forum. EB is a great place and I still remember joining the ranks back in '05. I'm sure you'll like the LEGO community here as this board attracts the best around. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, -TB

Hi Steve. Welcome to EB and to the Train Tech forum. Strangely, I've been working on the old Joe collection (or variation of I suppose) - still like LEGO trains though. Hope you enjoy the forum.
