  1. Oh yes, the great and grand Yellow Castle. Your set looks amazing Rufus and with the box, how cool is that? I actually played clean-up with this set a number of years ago myself (at least 6 or 7 in fact, maybe even longer). The result was this: Made new stickers for the original figs - think I got the decal prints from Classic Castle: Even made a classic-style display to show off the figures: It's great to see your Yellow Castle - long live Classic Castles!
  2. Rufus - as a huge fan of Classic Space (CS) and early 80s LEGO, I always find topics like this really fun and interesting. I've got a modest collection of my original CS sets and most of the instructions. Here's a few shots in support of your project. 497 Galaxy Explorer - one of the best CS sets ever made! 487 Space Cruiser - I use to throw it through the living room to create crash scenes. 493 Space Command Center - my first CS set. It got a lot of play. 6970 Beta I Command Base - with a small space shuttle, tram, and base, how could anyone not like this set? Top notch play value! 442 Space Shuttle - still have a crushed box for this one. 6901 Mobile Lab - one of my favorite sets, I use to play Battlestar Galactica with this bad boy. I always loved the trans. green elements. 483 Alpha 1 Rocket Base - I was never a huge fan of this set and lost a few of the pieces over the years (one hose or two and a blue & gray faucett piece. 6880 Surface Explorer - this came later and introduced the yellow space fig - great set! 6927 All Terrain Vehicle - probably my last CS set, I unfortunately lost the instructions to this set but found them through Peeron. It was always fun to open the back section to drop the lab. More detailed images of all the sets can be found here: http://www.majhost.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=179261 Well, that certainly was fun. Thanks for creating/sharing this topic as these CS sets certainly bring back a lot of childhood memories for me. Good luck with your restoration project!
  3. Merged with Discontinuation Speculation topic.
  4. Discussed privately - topic closed.
  5. Nice idea Kyphur- let's see how other LEGO Train fans weigh in.
  6. Best way to add an image (at least for me) is simply typing [ img] pasting your image link (needs to be a .jpg), followed by [/ img]. Note: leave our the spaces in the brackets. Take a look at the image I inserted to your post to see the text string. Example: [ img]http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Hrw-Amen/Black/coupled_8_g.jpg[/ img] Note: spaces added in brackets so the link could be seen.
  7. Nice mining train Hrw-Amen. I really like the tender. I've added/deeplinked an image so that our EB members can better appreciate the engine & tender.
  8. Hi Bill. It's great to hear that you and the Mrs. are appreciating LEGO Trains, esp. over HO. Make sure you share a picture of your layout once completed. I have a hunch that it will be a nice one. Enjoy the forum.
  9. Welcome Pulsar. It's great to see that you found us here on EB Train Tech. I hope you enjoy the forum and 7939.
  10. Nice design Murdock. This reminds me of the old trestle/bridge sets from my HO childhood. Looks like it would make a wonderful addition to a layout. Also enjoyable is seeing your 2013 To Do List. Thanks for sharing.
  11. Welcome DmChylde. I'm glad you took some time to introduce yourself here on EB/Train Tech. Your UP Big Jack is most impressive. I bet it looks fantastic on a large layout with lots of straights. One would certainly need the space to run Big Jack. Great build and again, welcome! Hi Sixoh. Welcome! If one were to collect any LEGO on a limited basis, I would recommend the Modulars and Trains. Great AFOL-oriented sets. Hope you enjoy the forum. EDIT: Oh, and the front-end of your "Emett Loco" looks fantastic. I look forward to seeing it built.
