Nice one Steinkopf. You did a really nice job on the sides (covering the wheels). I like the logo as well and use of the white elements/railing. Well done!

Hi DL and welcome to Train Tech. Looks like you've got a fine collection of LEGO Trains started. I'm looking forward to the HE as well. Perhaps we'll see it by Christmas. Hope you continue to enjoy the forum and good luck with your future layout. Hello Annie. Good to have you join us and take a little time in introducing yourself. Sounds like you have a family history with trains - cool! LEGO Trains are fun as they provide one the opportunity to build anything - from that favorite engine to a full layout. I look forward to seeing your layout - feel free to share your progress in the forum. Enjoy!

Guys - please stop bumping these older topics. I'm not seeing any images either but by responding to these old topics, it knocks down our more recent discussions and MOCs. Brik-el is more than welcome to comment and deep link some images, at which time I'll be glad to index. Until then, leave these old posts alone, please.

Hi Pat. Welcome to EB and to our LEGO Train community. The comparison of 9V to 12V and new PF system has been a long standing argument and while many have fought to keep 9V alive, many like the new PF system as well. I'm still an old 9V guy myself as I prefer electric track like the HO system I grew up with (plus I find it easier to slap on a 9V motor after building the train). I'm sure you'll enjoy whichever system you choose although it sounds like 9V is the one you prefer. Hope you enjoy the forum.

Wabbajack: why are you bumping all these year-old (almost year old topics)? I agree that Steinkopf's MOCs are most impressive, but these were posted quite some time ago. We have a general rule that unless you've really got something pertinent to add, stating that a MOC is "good looking" or you like the colors does not warrant "bumping" old topics. This makes three four in a row so I thought I'd let you know.

Beautiful locomotive LT12V (sounds like a Star Wars robot, doesn't it? ). Among my favorite of locomotives are these big black and red engines reminding me of growing up with Marklin HO scale engines. You've become a real expert in design this style of locomotives in LEGO, esp. with your Walschaerts Valve Gear design - well done!). Your added videos compliment the train nicely allowing us to see it in action. I really like the lights as well. It certainly took you some work to complete this train project and the finished model is superb. I'd love to see something like this as the next hobby steam train from LEGO similar to the Emerald Night. Excellent!

MOC (and Cuusoo project): Cattle Car Rolling Stock
WesternOutlaw replied to Luke_likes_Lego's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Interesting cattle car design Luke. It's always neat to see how different builders create rolling stock. I built this more traditional cattle car a few years back as part of a small DB train: Love those cows! Well done and good luck with Cuusoo. -

MOC: High Speed European Passenger Trains
WesternOutlaw replied to lego9vtrainfan's topic in LEGO Train Tech
This MOC was posted over two years ago. Please don't bump two-year old topics to ask for instructions; understanding that you're new around these parts. -
This is a friendly reminder that we have a pinned topic for LEGO Train Questions. A few members suggested a Train Question topic similar to that in the EB Star Wars forum and I'd like to see this idea work. I'm reluctant to move individual questions to the pinned topic because I'm afraid that some members (those asking the question) may lose or think their question has been deleted. I have moved some, generally if there has not been a response/discussion. The pinned topic can be used for just about any question, esp. those relating: What Train Should I Buy Track Capatibility Identifying an Old Set Looking for Instructions Looking for a Specific Set or Piece Power Systems and many others as some of these questions can be quickly answered with a single response or two. MOC: 4-Wide Tiny Train - Wooden Railway Compatible
WesternOutlaw replied to zephyr1934's topic in LEGO Train Tech
This is most clever Zephyr. We've seen mini-trains before but I see a solid LEGO Train compatible with wooden train track a great scale/train for the kiddies. Many of us who have children know Thomas, Brio, and some of the generic wooden train brands. To run a more sturdy LEGO train on wooden tracks as well as a modified LEGO track as you've done so creates excellent playability and a nice option instead of Duplo. Well done! -
No need to do this. I honestly don't want to make it a practice of changing thumbnail images for the index. We'll keep the one you've asked for.

Thanks for sharing Eric but please be aware that our image posting guidelines call for images <= 800x600. I've removed your images leaving one link. Please feel free to edit/re-post your images within EB's site guidelines.

I think the original/second image provides a better thumbnail, but I've gone ahead and updated at your request.

Hi all. I'd be glad to share some scans of the instructions but I don't own a working scanner and this set is now burried in boxes somewhere in my garage. It's been several years since I had these sets out of the box as part of a Classic Town Restoration Project.
