OK, here's some shots of the back with added detail: The ground pump used for tapping into the underground well: The inner windmill gear mechanism. The power of the windmill pumps water from the ground to the water tower outside. Also attached is a little still for distilling alcohol. The whole system of gears, pumps, and still: And intruducing the new villain that Brick Miner asked about, the Card Creeper: The Dark Tale of the Whispering Windmill Grave Stone legend says that the Card Creeper was notorious for card cheat'n in many crooked games of cards. On a dark and stormy Halloween night, after stealing hundreds of dollars from a drunken bunch of outlaws, the angry men took matters into their own hands. They dragged the Card Creeper out to the Whispering Windmill were they stopped it and tied him to one of the windmill blades. Once the blades began to turn, the men shot at the Card Creeper nicking him almost a dozen times before a final shot to the head finished him off. Before that final shot; however, the Card Creeper cursed the men swearing vengeance upon all of them for what they did to him, laughing hideously with an evil grin on his face. Bang! He was finished *skull* But that was not the end of the Card Creeper. Someone or something heard his curse and brought back his evil soul to seek vengeance upon his killers. Some even say it was the "putrid water" that runs under the windmill. On every Halloween night, the Card Creeper awakens seeking out each of his killers. And always found on his victim's body, is a black ace of spades.

Thanks. Harold's sturdy old axe/hatchet no doubt. I mentioned that he can be found chopping firewood on any given day. But who's the skeleton in the well? Perhaps it's Millicent until he gets those bigger roots cut...

Usually my style... But I don't think it's too dark. I usually try to add a little humor to the story (like the name Axewood- he holds an axe and can be found chopping wood on any given day ;-) ). My "spooky" stories are usually a little dark though, that's the nature of a good scary story ;-) . But I think a fig of a witch on a broom flying in the night sky would have really added to the MOC or image.

Just an image from the web. I've used in since the beginning of the Ghost Town imagery last year. I used to only hide the image in the mountains to add mystery, but I needed something for the right hand corner of the picture.

I liked last year's skin. We definately need a spooky skin again this year.

I agree. I like to see spooky images, but not of this variety. Something about babies I don't like to see. I guess it is a real image, but these types of images are scary in another sort of way. Imagine if that was your child? But on a more positive note (well, don't know how positive), but the lady under the bed is the scariest image yet (in my opinion). Something about her waiting to rise up and grab the person on the bed... Scary!

Thanks BM. Appreciate your positive comments. I'm still not done but I'm not sure how much of the story I can tell through the MOCs. I may share more in just a story thread. We'll see. I've done these and the 1st Ghost Town to appear on Eurobricks (link listed above).

Thanks Jipay. This time around, I wanted to build a much different collection of buildings (not just a hotel, saloon, and the typical WW town buildings). I also have something else in mind if I have enough pieces.

Actually, no, they don't. The windows and shutters can be opened without the blades touching. There's about a 4 brick distance between the house and the nearest part of the blades. The blades extend past the fence pieces. A fig can even stand on the balcony without the blade touching. In regard to the double barrel water tower: you've heard a double barrel shot-gun, right? Well, this is the same idea. :-P

I believe you, but seeing an actual image without the graphics shows the set much better (unless these MOCs are just smoke and mirrors).

Thanks for all your feedback. Here's a better shot of the windmill with a change in the Ghost Town imagery. The picture is a much better angle and you can get a better idea of what it looks like. I think I'll be going back to my original Ghost Town backgrounds which is more my style. I think they do the MOCs better justice. PS. I see by your comments that you seem to like this MOC the best out of the Grave Stone collection, but I prefer the Haunted Mill. Maybe it's the picture.

No problem BM. I know you got the concept of building a Ghost Town from me, but that's fine ;-) . I'm still waiting for some more of your MOCs though. I enjoy looking at them. But you should also post your original photos. That way, people (like me) can see what they really look like.

Interesting Chewie. Definatelt unique and not in the regular mini-fig variety. Is he larger than normal minifig scale or is it just the picture. I think it looks like a skeletal goblin warrior (how's that for a name)?

On a side note, why don't you post some of your original photos without the box art? It would be interesting to see how they look without the graphics. I didn't mean you specifically in regard to building a spooky minifig. I was referring to all who said it may take them a few weeks to post their image (for various reasons). Why don't you work with what you have?

The image of the lady under the guy's bed sends shivers down my spine. That's a real scary one! *skull*

In the distance, the creeks of old wood and scraping rusty metal can be heard wining. The wind blows a mysterious howl that encircles you and chills your spine. Halloween is fast approaching and the spirits of Grave Stone haunt the night. The ghostly winds of the Whispering Windmill speak a frightful tale; a tale of death, a tale of despair. A mysterious green glow can be seen from the distance eminating from the Whispering Windmill. What twisted tale does the windmill blow? I love sci-fi, but Star Wars is much different than the typical Sci-Fi movie. It was very unique which made it so much better and a "true legend" in film. Episodes 1-3, with all the high-tech computer graphics/animation, great characters, and story will never come close (in my opinion) to the original trilogy. For sci-fi, I enjoyed Dune and a few horror/sci-fi movies involving space creatures and evil robots. The problem with many horror films now (in the US), is that they're just "hack, slash, and gore". To me, horror is suspense, mystery, and building up to a horrific plot. Not just Jason chasing teenagers with a knife after dying several times (although these movies serve another purpose ;-) ). The suspense, irony, intrigue, and mystery is what makes a good horror film. I'm not a big fan of the Night of the Living Dead Zombie-type movies, but some of the early ones were scary.

I never saw the Grudge. There's always something that makes me extra scared when the evil/creature is a child. I enjoyed the Ring, which I did think was very scary. Esp. the scene with the TV. The movie they rented was freaky too. Gives me the goosebumps... :'-(
