  1. Along the outskirts of the desolate town of Grave Stone, a spooky wooden bridge stands as the one pass leading out of the forsaken town. A mysterious fog engulfs the rickety covered bridge and it is said that many have entered the bridge but few have reached the other side. It is best to take one's chances spending the night in Grave Stone than trying to get out through Dead Man's Bridge! *skull* NOTE: As we are nearing Halloween, this will be my last MOC as part of the Grave Stone collection. I hope you have enjoyed these MOCs as I've had a lot of fun building them and writing about the spooky old Ghost Town of Grave Stone.
  2. "and he got chopped up by one of his cooks and eaten in a big bowl of chowder", Johnson added. "What a frightening story", Jane responded, "Mary was quite fond of Bob's Crab Shack". "You don't say"? Johnson commented.
  3. Great! I'd love to see some close-up images.
  4. No, actually I own Vladek's Fortress and plan to buy 10176. Since both sets are around the same size and price, I was curious as to what people prefer, newer KK style castles, or older Classic style. I like Legend sets (although 10176 is a modified design). I like to create "face-offs between sets". Generally, I own sets that I feature in polls (at least most of the time).
  5. I've done an image review of the Werewolf Ambush set but would love to see reviews of the other three sets in the spirit of Halloween. If you have any of the remaining three sets: Scary Laboratory Vampire's Crypt Curse of the Pharaoh Please share an image review of the set(s) for others to enjoy. I'll create some sort of index for the four sets. If you do a review, please create a new message to share your images/review.
  6. your Crab Shack, and it will be haunted by the spirits of sunken pirates. They will rise from their watery graves and...
  7. I voted for the King's Castle. It's not exactly Classic Castle, but it's definately more reminiscent of older Lego castles. I also like the colors and the base plate.
  8. The dark and mysterious Sea Hag came wandering into his Crab Shack looking for a warm bowl of chowder. (NOTE: please, no more Sci-Fi. This is a mystery/horror tale, not the Matrix. This is supposed to be a spooky Halloween story).
  9. The last two larger castles released by Lego included Vladek's Dark Castle (8877) released in 2005, and the Royal King's Castle (10176) released in 2006 Both castles were the same price ($100 in the U.S). Which castle do you like better? Share your thoughts.
  10. As I was taking another look at these sets, I realized I did forget a very spooky set: Arkham Asylum. It should definately be in this collection. - maybe also the KK Scorpion Prison Cave and Vladek's Dark Fortress (as mentioned). - Maybe I'll add these next year and make the list a little broader. Graveyard Duel is definately by far the winner!
  11. I have yet to see a supernatural occurence. I'm not a "believer".
  12. It looks like the Amazon, Ghoulish Death, and the Skeletal Centaur are in the lead... The contest will be ending soon.
  13. I believe that people (not just Americans) are very gullible. It's part of human nature. But I must point out that using the example of vampires mentioned in the article, everyone knows that vampires have to keep humans alive to do their "daylight bidding"; and vampires don't bite a new person each time they feast. This makes the calculation unlrealistic. But yes, I believe that people will believe in almost anything. Stories of creatures like vampires, ghosts, werewolfs, and other mythical creatures have been around for centuries. And they will continue spooking and haunting the gullible for years to come.
  14. Do you believe in these Shadow People Kahgarak? It sound like the dead in the movie Ghost.
  15. I think a giant Lego fig would make a funny costume. Kids would enjoy it. I'd want mine to be Classic Castle though.
  16. It's never the dead you should be afraid of, it's the living you should fear.
  17. Soylent crab claws. But old Bob's soup wasn't the only thing with the crabs.
  18. used a very special ingredient in his clam chowder.
  19. Very nice Jacob. First, I love the colors - nice combination. I like the overall look of the ship which definately does not have the pirate-look,but rather Medieval. I'm most impressed with the fact that you did not use standard pirate theme hull pieces so often used in Lego ship MOCs. The result you achieved by just using standard bricks is quite impressive. It has a very good shape and design. I love the use of the old griffin shields making the ship definately Classic castle (nice touch ;-) ). The center mast is simple, yet very effective for a ship of this time frame. And lastly, you topped it off with some beutifully designed sales in both color and pattern. It blends in nicely with the ship colors. Overall, this is a terrific ship. I'd love to see it loaded with figs ready to attack that castle across the sea. Very nice job!
  20. quite the pirate! So much so, that they called me Phes. It reminds me of a frightening old sea tale that I use to hear in "Bob's Crab Shack *wub* ", an old tavern by the sea. The story was about a...
  21. too busy laughing X-D at the images that were coming off the copy machine. "Check this one out", Johnson remarked as Jane pointed at the image with the tatoo of a... I've loved the story up until the last few posts that got a little silly in plot (but it can go anywhere). That's the nature of this kind of thing, but the theme is a Dark and Stormy Night (spooky, mysterious, and frightening). The humor makes it original though, and I enjoy the humor and wit.
  22. Copy... Copy... Copy... Mary awoke from the effects of the poisoned biscuit, finding herself slumped over the copy machine. "What a strange dream I had", Mary stated; surprised to find Jane, Stanley, and Johnson holding her *wacko* .
  23. A biscuit came flying through the air hitting Jane right on her left cheek!
  24. But lucky for Mary, the effects of the poison in Johnson's biscuits were only temporary; but not before a rather disgruntled Stanley helped Johnson and Jealous Jane drag her back to the copy machine room where they proceeded to... (thanks Sir Dillon. I was waiting to see what the next response was to determine which one of us should edit).
  25. Welcome to Eurobricks Legocastlegirl. I like your MOC and you picked a great theme to build to. I like the use of the arched doors at ground level and the WW windows and shutters (can't go wrong with the traditional WW look). I like the water trough. Nice detail and your image shows just enough water to get the idea. The chain to the barrel is also a nice touch. I'm thinking that it's a shower. Simple use of a few pieces that adds nice detail. I'm guessing that your MOC is more a Hotel than a house (at least that's what it looks like to me). It's always hard to build with limited pieces, so I can appreciate the use of the white fence pieces for the balcony. Lego sells a grey fence piece in bulk in the U.S. (maybe it's also available in Germany). I used the white fence pieces for my WW Grave Stone Chapel pictured here: Shadow Chapel I just got a few of these recently from Lego's "Pick a Brick" and must say that I like these, but more for a fence. You might try building up the front of your building roof with 1x (X) bricks to make a sign. Often times, old WW buildings had sort of a front facade on the outside. See the image below for an example: Overall, this is a nice beginning WW MOC. I'd love to see you share more of your designs with us as you build more. Good luck and again Welcome!
