  1. Just the wizard is fine. The workshop is an additional challenge.
  2. Exactly! You took the words right out of my mouth DS. A workshop is just something extra to get you ready for the new CASTLE theme.
  3. I was just going to post. Saw it a little bit ago.
  4. Inspired by images of Spanish Missions, the Alamo, and Old Mexican Villages, I wanted to try something different in building a Mexican Fort from the 1800s. I'll add some additional images later, but here's a few to start out with: A view from the front: Right front: Left Front: Inside: The figs: This MOC was something completely different for me, and in researching what has been built by others, I was surprised to find very little along this line. Hope you enjoy, and feedback is welcome. PS. Also, in case the pirate fans on the board might be thinking that these figs look a little like Imperial Soldiers, take a look at this image of Mexican uniforms from the movie, the Alamo:
  5. Excellent! While I'm quite fond of the Great Bambini MOC (esp. the monkeys), I'm also partial to the Necromancer. Both are excellent entries.
  6. One week from the first entry.
  7. EB also has a friendly contest here: Wizard's Challenge
  8. The contest starts with the first entry. No one has posted.
  9. That would be a nice idea, but up to the admins/mods. Come on castle fans, where's all those excellent entries? I really thought for sure we'd get at least a few based on the Magnificent Knight Contest. There's more discussion here about the Castle contest on CC than our own EB contest. :-(
  10. I enjoyed watching the assembly of the castle. That was pretty slick. It actually looks like a pretty nice set.
  11. Since you mentioned it: El Paso Hell, I might as well share the battle of New Orleans as well. I liked the beginning of this one: New Orleans As I play these files, I had a few more songs as well, but these were the better of the selection.
  12. I wanted something to set the stage for the contest, but that's not my entry. I plan to enter something else. - not sure what yet.
  13. OK, Let's give it a try. The contest is back on! It would help if this thread is noted on the Main Page.
  14. The dark blue is a very nice color. I esp. liked it in the Scorpion Palace.
  15. I like the idea of a ranch and a barn. Not to keep talking about Playmobil, but they seem successful with their farm theme and they had a ranch as part of their Western theme. I think both would make nice additions to the theme.
  16. Sorry SD. I was rather looking forward to seeing the entries. It's just that no one expressed any interest by responding.
  17. Excellent. Very well done! These would have made great entries for the Wizard's Challenge: Wizard's Challenge
  18. I would say tan/light tan. I don't think Lego uses enough of this color in its buildings. It not only looks great for Egyptian Desert and Wild West, but in buildings with other colors. Just about any bright standard color looks good with it as the colors stand out or "pop" with tan. That's not a real Lego baseplate, it it BM? I don't recall seeing a baseplate that color. Also, it looks like it doesn't have any studs to build on.
  19. After recently viewing a train movie posted by HighLandCattle (Train Talk), I thought I would share a video I made several years ago after first purchasing a MOT Steam Engine with rolling stock. This was my first Lego display coming out of my dark ages. When making the 15-second movie clip, I tried a few songs including: - Big Bad John by Jimmy Dean (yes, that was the founder of the sausage company) - my personal favorite - Battle of New Orleans - Johnny Horton - El Paso - Marty Robbins (he did a number of old gunfighter ballads) I ended up going with Big Bad John because of the gold mine prominenty displayed. Hope you enjoy! Brickster's WW Town & Train Clip
  20. I really like the new theme; but not so much for WW (although the horses would be good as well as the new skeletons). I like castle, so I'm really looking forward to the new elements of sorcery and undead to the castle theme.
  21. I think that the only set I have with purple pieces is the Harry Potter Bus.
  22. Interesting, I've never ordered any one piece (aside from Lego Pick-A-Brick).
  23. I liked the Viking sets, but I really didn't think they'd be real popular with the kids. Castle still offers much more fantasy play and is a more recognizable theme. I'm not surprised to see the theme fizzle out.
  24. Definately not. The movie wasn't that good, and I'd be surprised to see a sequel. Lego should have jumped on Pirates of the Caribbean and even King Kong. These would have made great license-sets.
