  1. I thought I would try my hand at building a small WW MOC. This is the Earp Brothers and Doc Holliday, in Tombstone, as they make their way toward the famous gunfight at the O.K. Corral.
  2. Great ideas and concepts. Does anyone plan to build any of them?
  3. The latest images of the expanded army: I must say that in all my collecting of Lego over the years, this King's Army is among my favorites.
  4. I would love to see some village sets (various buildings like the Blacksmith Shop, Guarded Inn, etc.) These types of sets really add a great City element to the Castle theme.
  5. I agree. this will be a very nice feature. It reminds me of the old Classic Castle that you could add component to (like the Guarded Inn and other smaller castle/wall sets).
  6. Here's the link: King's Castle Siege (7094) Image Review
  7. I like the computer rendered grapics/photos much better. You are really good at it. I admire your skills.
  8. FYI: Lego SAH US has a new Web Page dedicated to the new Castle Theme. It can be found here: Lego Castle The page offers character descriptions and some really nice Castle Wallpapers (to name just a few things). The Wallpapers are high quality images of the actual sets - some of the nicest Lego graphics that I've seen in fact. The Skeleton Tower is among my favorite. Here's a direct link: Lego Castle Wallpapers Lego is getting as good as Brick Miner now! ;-)
  9. Double-post, but here are some of the additional images for this review. Starting with the back-side of the castle: A close-up: The break-away wall on the right side of the castle: Pushing the wall causes it to break inward. This feature reminds me of Playmobil Castles. Here's the opening with the wall: Inside the left wall of the castle are some weapons: And a non-blurry image of the white skeletons. It was the close proximity of the camera to the figs that caused the images to blur:
  10. Interesting- I see they have a new white "Space Skeleton Arm". BM- you had mentioned the use of this piece on one of the new Castle 2007 threads. I could see a need to order a whole bag of these for the Castle skeleton warriors.
  11. I'm not sure without digging out my KK sets to compare. The gold sword is rather light in color though making it almost look silver. Sorry about that. I had trouble focussing my camera on the skeletons for some reason. Perhaps it was the lighting in the room and/or the white skeletons. I'll take some better shots. I actually like the two-tone BURPS. In fact, these look better than a solid color piece in my opinion. I have mixed view regarding the baseplate issue. The inner ground is rather large. I think the Viking Fortress doesn't use a baseplate either. I don't own 10176 if that's the castle you're referring to. I may still buy before it is discontinued. I have seen it and Legoland, and it looks like a nice castle- just a different style. Sure, I'll add when I have a little time to take and upload a few more shots. My camera color may be adding a little blue to the images, but I don't mind the use of the new grey. My complaint is when you want to mix the old grey with the new grey for a MOC, the result doesn't look good. In addition, I have some classic castle sets next to the castle, and the colors are different. I like all the bricks in my village to be the same color. I'll share a few shots when I can. Like the Bruce Hornsby song says, "Get a Job". I've always wanted to say that Iamded. - just teasing ;-) . But thank you for the comments. And yes, I forgot to mention the breakable wall. I will have to add to the review. Thanks for pointing this out. Thank you all for the feedback. It's not Classic Castle, but one does have to appreciate the new style and color of the "New Order of the Brick". Perhaps one of the mods can add a link to this review on the Front Page NEWS section.
  12. You bet. I would agree.
  13. I just purchased King's Castle Siege (7094) yesterday and had a late night building the set. It took me about three hours to construct with few interruptions. I wanted to share with the great EB community, esp. for those of you who are considering the purchase of this set. King's Castle Seige Lego Castle 2007 Set #: 7094 Pieces: 973 Price: $99.99 (USD) Figs: 10 Starting with the drawbridge. I actually like the simple construction and it works by lifting the back technic bar that pulls the dual chains upward. A portculis rests behind the brown drawbridge that one may lift and hold up using the shield with two small beams that slide within: The two front towers are identical with large green/stone colored purp. The large piece actually works well: On the top of each tower (2) is a mini-catapult: The left and right front corner walls use rounded top pieces that I like: The left side wall is pretty much basic with a large brown catapult in the middle: The catapult: The right wall has stairs and a tower in the rear corner: The right rear tower. A bridge connects it to the middle tower and it actually turns allowing an attacking skeleton to slip off: I love the dark blue and gold glags that top the middle and right rear towers: The rear wall has two large black doors (and a three level tower). Unfortunately, there is nothing to baracade the doors with and they open to the outer back of the castle not even allowing one to place a brick inside to lock them from invaders: On the second floor is a treasure chest with four gems of various colors and golden sword: On the third floor is the king's throne. It's pretty simple, but I love the shilds that decorate various sections of the castle: The entire castle: Another view: Dragon's Eye view of the top: And now for my favorite, the outstanding collection of figs, starting with the King and General: The knights and archers each with a different face: A shot of the General's face and horse. I love the German pig-helmet: The Legions of the Undead with double-battle axe: The skeleton warriors: And the black dragon. The dragon that comes with the Wizard's Skull Tower is red. While many AFOL might not appreciate the dragon, it actually isn't too bad. The face/head is very nice and I'm sure younger children would enjoy the playability factor: Lastly, a few shots of the box front and back: Summary While King's Castle Seige is not by far Classic Castle, it is a step in the right direction for Lego. The castle is much better than anything from the Knights Kingdom collection although some might compare to Vladek's Dark Fortress. I have Vladek's but I never put the set together. The colors of the castle are probably what I like most with the use of the ornate shields and flags. The gold decorative pieces I can do with or without although they do add some design and blend the gold in with the castle. I just HATE the softer cheaper plastic. I see Lego using more and more of these inferior pieces. The castle still has a large number of BURPS, BLOCKS, and other already assembled pieces which always detract from the quality and design of the set, but the overall look is not bad - it's just not classic. The build took me three hours which I consider pretty good for a set this size. I would have appreciated much more detail with some rooms and smaller accessories (like the new HP castle, and/or the last Castle Legend (Royal King's Castle 10176 for the same price)). The figs for all the new Castle sets are outstanding. Some people don't like the skeleton arms, but they are 100 times better than the older skeletons that did not allow good manipulation of the hands/arms in various positions. This set has 10 figs; the best being the king and his army of five. My biggest dislike of this set is probably the tower to the left of the rear center tower. I find this design a bit strange. Overall, the more I look at this set, the more I appreciate its overall design. I would buy again. Hope you enjoy the review.
  14. No, but that's a good idea. I'm not sure why Lego did not provide arms like this. They would have looked better than the straight arms. Yes, I do now. I just picked up the Castle yesterday. I'll share some images soon.
  15. Thanks. I'm still working on imagery and graphics. It will be better than what you're seeing now.
  16. Sure, I just purchased the castle today, so I have the entire collection now. I'm looking forward to seeing what else Lego plans to do with the theme. I can patiently wait, but I am looking forward to seeing more sets from the theme. Oh, and Berry. I agree with you in regard to the skeleton arms, but I still like them. They are 100 times better than the old skeletons. *skull*
  17. Everyone knows it's not how big the army is, but rather how well they are used. Here's a few of mine: Well, it's not SW- but I don't feel like opening all my SW sets to dig out the troopers.
  18. I've added some sounds, changed the background, and also added some graphics. The site is still in the early development phase though. Much more to come...
  19. Good question. I just stuck her there until I raise her up on some sort of pedastal. The dress doesn't fit real well on the horse. This is just an army in progress as I intend to buy more troops.
  20. Oh, you've got a while to buy these sets. They're not even out in most stores yet. They'll be around.
  21. Agree. I think it's a best value set. $100 USD. I'm going to wait a bit for the castle. I know it's a nice set too.
  22. Why don't you just delete the page(s) and re-create them. You'll loose the comments, but you only have a few MOCs. It shouldn't take too long. Kind of like reseting a hit counter. I was thinking about doing that with mine, but I've got quite a few.
  23. Shiversdale... :'-(
  24. Actually, It's done pretty good so far at 204 hits in just a day or two. There's much more than MOCs I plan to share on the site, like image reviews, story, etc. I can't exactly do that on MOC Pages. Two thoughts. You have not shared your outstanding Train Depot yet; and also, whether a set gets a one or a five, it really is dependent on the person doing the review. For example, I would rate a few of my creations that did not average a 5 much higher; and some that did, lower. I enjoy the comments much more than the scoring. The comments really tell you what people are thinking about your creations. In addition, I wonder who exactly is scoring the sets (how old are they, their set interests, ability, etc.).
  25. I ordered some of the sets from SAH and also bought a few at my local TRU. TRU had all the sets (even the smaller ones that Lego SAH has on backorder. I would say these are more along the line of crossbowmen with much shorter range. Good quote for the day from Asuka - "New Castle On".
