  1. Thanks, and sure- but I don't know what I'm looking for. Your comment about the stagecoach? You're a stickler for detail Phes. Yes. You are correct. I noticed it yesterday but didn't feel like redoing for such two tiny areas.
  2. I recently updated the background image for my Wells Fargo Stagecoach. I think it came out pretty well. Here's a shot: You can review the set here: MOC Pages: Wells Fargo Stage Coach
  3. I revisited my Confederate troops and redid the background. Here's a shot:
  4. Great review Jay. I love it! Looks like a fantastic set. Great minifigs, esp. the wizard and the princess. I love the scythe! That will come in handy as we get closer to Halloween. I plan to buy this, esp. after your review. Thanks for taking the time to share the images.
  5. Very nice Apophis. The bridge construction is very creative and looks sharp. I love the wanderer/fig. The building is equally nice (esp the detail on the roof). Great job!
  6. You get a lot of inspiration/ideas from looking at these great MOCs.
  7. Perhaps this provided me with an early inspiration for Ghost Town - or recalled my fascination with ghost towns from childhood memories. I can think of other things that sparked my interest. What was your inspiration for Shiversdale BM? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Adequate has been around a long time and the reviews are a very good quaility. I use to write reviews on Brickset when they had real-time posting. After this was changed, I would spend a lot of time writing a review before submitting, then never saw it posted. It happened a few times, and I gave up. I think set reviews with a good story really add interest. I for one enjoy reading the story component.
  8. Interesting. I had never seen anything from the movie. Perhaps the mask was around the time it was re-released on DVD. I bought it several years ago but remember watching the movie on TV every year or so. I never found it real scary, just very different.
  9. I often look back upon movies that I particularly enjoyed and have seen a number of times over the years. One cult horror film that I enjoyed was a movie called Gargoyles from 1972. It was made available on DVD a few years ago. Does anyone remember this movie? Share and discuss it here.
  10. In the late 90s, prior to the beginning of my WW set collection, I had stumbled upon reviews of some of the Lego WW sets on www.Adequate.com. One review really peeked my interest, Bandit's Secret Hideout (6761) reviewed by Joseph Gonzalez in 1996. Joseph shares the following story as a prelude to his set review: Old Crandall Mine sits just outside the limits of town near the fading and silent foundations of the previous settlement Peerless. Built a good decade before the gold rush was even heard of, the mine was begun by millionaire-eccentric Morris "Old Moe" Crandall and ended up closing six years later because nearly every shaft started would collapse, trapping too many unfortunate miners below. Three years after its closing, a twister passed through the area and wiped every building out but the foreman's shack over the main entrance. I reckon all that bad luck is where everybody got the idea the place is either haunted or cursed. Some folks say you can see the ghosts of those lost miners pass through the invisible streets as wind rushes through the still-intact main shaft causing a ghostly whistle. Now, with the rush for gold on in every part of the country, some fools talk about opening the mine again, others talk about sending in government troops to unearth the lost bodies and put the souls of those men to rest, while still others are saying somebody ought to blow the entrance once and for all and cave the whole miserable operation in. Out of all that talk I do know one thing, the army would be out there lickety-split if they knew that Flatfoot Thomsen and his gang were holing up there with last week's robbery loot and a stolen war cannon. Complete Review. I wanted to share this review with the WW fans before it is no longer available. It has been there since 1996. I love this story and it had me chasing all over town for this great little set. Joseph reviewed other sets but this is among my favorites. This is truly a great little set and I was able to pick up a 2nd MISB last year on Ebay. One additional review I particularly enjoyed was for the Classic Train (3225) by Larry Pieniazek: Classic Train 3225 Review. Hope you take a moment to check these out as reviews with great stories really add interest to sets.
  11. The whole gallery is not yet public Athos, but in regard to the single image, I must say that this is among my favorite of your collection. Nice job!
  12. Are you planning anything special? or just a few armies?
  13. That's OK. I didn't see the other message anyway. Thanks for sharing.
  14. Great! I've been waiting for them to hit. What I can't figure out is how people are able to find these on Lego's Web Site. I check it every day by searching by set # and theme. They don't come up, even now (without using the links you've provided)?
  15. I had never heard the British version Hobbes. It sounds so much like the American, that it's hard to tell them apart- aside from the lyrics. I have to say that I doubt the Americans ran though. ;-)
  16. Excellent! Great custom torsos. They look like the real thing.
  17. I agree with KD. Saloons from this era must contain a bar of some kind. If Lego can make assault rifles and other guns, is a WW bar any worse. The drinks don't need to be alcohol- they can always be root beer and floats for the kiddies. Playmobil offered a mirrored bar with lots of bottles and glasses in their Golden Nugget Saloon. Take a look: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks KD. Here's a few shots of an earlier church and cemetary concept- one of my first WW MOCs. I used the HP graveyard as the cemetary.
  18. When might this mystery be starting?
  19. Mosana: thanks for designing these outstanding torsos. I have to apologize becuase I had almost forgot about this thread as I don't visit the Pirate Forum very often.
  20. Welcome to EB Klaus-Dieter. It's nice to see another WW fan join the board. You've got some great ideas for additional WW sets. Take a look at this thread for some additional ideas that we've discussed: Help Dusty Miller: If the WW theme was continued, what sets would you add?
  21. Very nice Yoda. Thanks for sharing these early shots of the sets. I'm still waiting for them patiently here in the US. I love the skeletons. Great eyes! I can't help to notice; however, that Lego seems to be using more and more of the cheaper, softer plastic (looking at some of the pieces and the weapons).
  22. I can't wait to see your town Norrington. That name sounds like something out of Disney. Will this be like Frontier Land? and/or is this WW town for your mystery? In the most dryest and desolate places of the desert, man will find a way to build his frontier - haunted by the ghosts of the past. - TheBrickster
  23. Great review Yoda. Thanks for sharing. This looks like a great set and I'm really glad to see Lego designing these City sets. Reminds me of the 80s.
  24. Awesome! I want a pad like Mark's *wub* . Just look at that stereo system! Too cool. You forgot one thing Norro, a lava lamp ;-) .
