  1. 1. I personally use those sorting cabinets people use for nuts and bolts. I have currently 3 of them for technic pieces. 2. I use brickowl. It's the best site if you need very specific parts for a very specific build. However, finding extremely rare parts is harder on that site. 3. Best place to buy lego sets are from garage sales and stuff like that. Normally lego sellers in lego specific sites such as brickowl, know their parts worth. 4. Favorite set.. Hmm... I can't think of any, i'm much more of a moc builder. Usually when i buy a set, i assemble it only once and disassemble it afterwards. But if i have to choose one, i'll choose the bucket wheel excavator.. So many parts.. 5. For small children, i'd get one of those large bins that have wheels under it. You can easily just push it under the bed. Kids like to dig in a large pile of legos and adults like to be organized. I think a large bin that you push under the bed is a good mix of both. If you can get one that's very long and not that deep, even better.
  2. These types of container cargo ships are the reason why i finally decided to buy system legos again.. (I've been a technic guy for a loooong time) Words can't describe how awesome these ships are.
  3. People who sell lego as mished up messes of their childs moc's. If you're selling Tahu, don't sell it with Kopakas sword and Pohatus legs. Or people who sell "full sets" which has either lots of missing pieces or pieces that are wrong color. If it's not a complete set, don't sell it as one.
  4. I personally have nothing against cycling itself. I think it's a great hobby to have. I have a massive thing agaisnt people who are cyclist in the city, hogging the roads and causing accidents and danger. I have a 600 eur solifer bike with 3x7 gears if i recall correctly. Doesn't have disc brakes unfortunately. My tires are standards because i usually ride in the countryside so we have gravel roads. I'd give it all to get a velomobile though. Even a recumbent bike would do. I have bad knees and a bad back. It's been a long wait for summer..
  5. I like trains.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finnish_Steam_Locomotive_Class_A5
  6. Two of those stacked on top of eachother and an axle pin in each of those axle holes. Only way i could get these things off was by biting the pin end and just pulling the axle away from the L piece.. But this will damage the pin. I mean, sure you can push and axle from the other side but it's really fiddly. Anybody got a quick fix that's easier?
  7. Any tips how to remove two technic 3x3 thin L shape's off from an axle pin? Especially when you have an axle pin in both ends.
  8. Cool. Now if they ever shrink me, i'll have a sweet ride.
  9. If i might add. I suspect that internally the structure of the plastic itself if left sitting as a singular part without any stress on it. The structure of the plastic starts to harden and become more fragile because it's constantly on a relaxed state. But when you have a clamp under stress when it's stored, the added stress will squeeze the structure of the plastic and thus keeping it more alive and not let it harden. That's why the flag piece clamps broke when you tried to assemble it and the other guy had no problems cause he had left a moc sit for years with a clamp piece attached. This is all theory though..
  10. How about making this out of legos:
  11. As you already guessed, i don't have any brick separators. But then again, i always made technic builds so i never needed them. Might need ones in the future though. As for now i'm using system again. Anybody got any building tips and tricks? Would be awesome if we could collect all them here so it's easy to browse trough if you're stuck with a moc.
  12. If you have discovered a great tip, please post it here! I'll go first! You know that feel when you join two plates like in the image: Well fear not! I have a simple solution for this. Take a very thin bladed x-acto knife and put the blade on the middle. Just a simple light push will not damage the piece but the metal in the blade itself will separate them enough so your fingernail can fit in between. I've used this trick for years and not damaged a single piece. The key to this is simply just not pushing too far for the blade to actually touch the stud.
  13. When i was a kid, my cat had mistaken my large bin of legos for a litterbox.. You know that feel when you have to wash +50,000 pieces because they smell like pee.
  14. It's definitely it's own thing and not imitating anything of lego. It's an accessory for lego parts. You'll see the review in the scifi section once i receive the package. I personally disapprove of just direct clones of lego sets. Thanks for the reply.
  15. Should be arriving trough the mail at some point from taiwan. It's something pretty cool. However, it's not a lego licensed product though. I'm no longer a 100% purist. But i still disapprove illegal connections.
  16. Off brand parts have been a taboo here. Is posting mocs with offbrand parts allowed? I was going to write a review on an offbrand item and i'm wondering if i'm allowed to do so. The item itself is not a complete set but a set of parts that are used with lego bricks to build mocs.
  17. Man, you're so random. Keep it up!
  18. It looks good. Only issue i have with it is studs.
  19. Okay.. Apparently when i'm stuck, i should just let my wife build something.. She made a nice looking tubular structure which i used for the shoulders. I was currently trying to make turrets when i got stuck and didn't know what to build.. It's okay i guess. Quite simple but effective.
  20. I'm thinking about acquiring more parts and starting to make world war II mechs.. The mechs will be mechanically correct so no arms or heads. Just tanks with legs.
  21. Update: Okay this time i really gave it a go. And here are the results: The Kestrel. Used for personnel transportation and exploration. Mounted with two long ranged scanners and a large ion cannon. Propulsion comes from 4 medium engines. Can fit 400 passengers and 200 crewmen. For a total of 600 people. Pics:
  22. So my massive parts order arrived. After checking all parts out, i already had to make a quick 5 min moc. So here you go, ladies and gentlemen. DB-01 More to come. I'll post all my builds in this thread. If you guys have any building tips or hints, i'm always open for more ideas. What i'm currently looking for is building techniques for cores or frames for the ship.. Building with system is harder than i thought. But it's a start!
  23. I noticed yours too. First generation was my favorite! Here's a parts list: The closest guess on the total price of these parts can choose which type of a vessel i have to build as my first when these parts arrive. If you guess the exact number, you can also choose a set of parts that i'll have to use. Hints: The seller was TopBrix from brickowl.
  24. 464 parts were ordered. Let the fun begin.
