"See, this is why you should let me drive."

Very nice WhiteFang, it looks great! I've posted the map of the Orclands in the Character thread. I've made the Orclands rather diverse with nomads, savages, Trolls, ruffians, rival families, peasants, nobles and tribes, all trying to kill each other As well as this, I've posted up three new characters, including the nomadic Orcs and a Crownie general. Enjoy!

EBRP General Information and Character thread.
MagPiesRUs replied to Khorne's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Sorry about the lack of a grid and all of the colour, I'll try to change that later on... The Orclands Kromskragg - The old Orc capital, bearing name to the mighty great Chief Krom, who captured the city and the region around it from the Wolfpack. After years of infighting and civil war, the city was left in ruin. Under the leadership of Great Chief Grimm, the capital was shifted South to a new founded city, Grimmshutt. Fort Askragg - A mighty Orcish fort guarding the border between the Orcs and the Crown Kingdom and Wolfpack. The fortress has never before fallen to enemy hands. Grimmshutt - A new, advanced capital, founded by the unifier of the Orclands, Great Chief Grimm. The city is very prosperous and modern (for an Orc), and home to merchants, nobles and of course the Great Chief himself, in his fortified palace. The Southlands - A rowdy place, full of the most unpleasant of Orcs. Many Orcs come here to escape law, and to gamble, drink, womanise and fight. Many of the large towns in the Southlands are controlled by rivalling families, each vying for power and superiority over their neighbours. Aside from these most minor of drawbacks, the Southlands is home to many of the greatest Orcish sailors, most of whom originally came to these lands for reasons mentioned beforehand. The Orcish Steppes - An empty and barren land which has yet to be tamed by the folk of the Orclands. Those who inhabit the land are fierce nomadic tribes, all of them with dreams of one day conquering the entire area. East Gobblokh - A simple region speckled with small villages across the countryside. While there is still much tribal warfare about this area, this is perhaps one of the more peaceful parts of the Orclands, though that is not saying much. It's position near the Lands of the Undead means that Orcs from the West will often travel back and forth to make negotiations, and there are many trading posts, embassies and outposts scattered about this region. Trollkragg - The home to the much-feared Trolls, few Orcs dare venture here. Amongst the hills however are several clans of wild and savage Orcs, who have learned to live with the Trolls and are even able to speak to them. Because of this relationship, other Orcs often seek their help to tame the great beasts and use them in war. New Characters Name: Khan Makhmos Age: 63 Background: Makhmos is the Khan of the Abukh, a well-feared tribe in the untamed steppes of the Orclands. Under Makhmos' wise rule they have established themselves as one of the most dominant tribes in the region. But Makhmos now grows old and weary, and time will soon come for a new warrior to take up the sword and succeed the aging Orc. Faction: Orcs Class/place in hierarchy: Khan of the Abukh tribe of the Orcish Steppes Equipment: Bow, Scimitar, Horse Looks: Name: Khanzada Ogkhlala Age: 26 Background: Ogkhlala is the youngest, and only remaining son of Khan Makhmos. He has witnessed the deaths of all three of his brothers in battle, at the hands of the Abukh's old rivals, the Shanagh. That he does not forget, or forgive. While he does have the courage and bravery of a warrior, his father fears he has not the management and authority to become Khan, and that a vicious power struggle will erupt after his own death. Faction: Orcs Class/place in hierarchy: Khanzada, heir to the Abukh tribe Equipment: Spear, Bow, Horse Looks: Name: Sir Mikhail Age: 38 Background: Mikhail is a beloved general of the Crownlands, and is known throughout the lands as a brave and valiant general, capable of leading a rabble of peasants to victory. His soldiers follow him without questions, to whatever awaits them, while the enemy wavers at the sight of Mikhail upon his steed. Faction: Crownies Class/place in hierarchy: Crown General Equipment: Longsword and Shield Looks: -
Congratulations guys, you all deserve it. What a great contest, thanks to imperialshadows, prize donators Captain Green Hair, Hinckley, Phes and of course the contestants for all of the fantastic entries.

Brilliant, the banner and background look great! I look forward to seeing how the month plays out. I'll try to get an avatar up tommorow...

I've been rather busy lately and havn't had time to write up any entries for a while. However, I've planned 4 more characters and will begin work on my latest chapter right away. Also, is it ok if I post up a map of the Orclands?

I'm quite happy with the castle set up I made a while ago. It was set up on our pool table to create a nice grass effect. Unfortunately it has been broken up since then, so I can't get any better pics. Enjoy!

Looking at my ships, most of the flags seem to be facing sideways... But yes, I try to position my flags in the direction of the wind. However, the flags on buildings and banner bearers will usually be facing around 45 degrees towards the back.

German Mark VII Tank (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade)
MagPiesRUs replied to SirNadroj's topic in LEGO Licensed
You've really been pumping out some great Indy MOCs lately, and this one is no exception. This is a fairly accurate depiction of the LC tank, and I love all of the details on the top. The turret looks very nice, I love all of the slopes attached horizontally. the general shape of it is very accurate too, it looks very nice and intimidating. However, the tank doesn't quite look minifig scale, I'd suggest making it slightly longer and higher. The side cannons could be shortened down a little too, but other than that, this is a very fine tank, and certainly good for a first try. Great work, Nadroj! -
Review - Agents 8635 Mobile Command Center
MagPiesRUs replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for another wonderful review, svelte_corps A very fine set indeed, I absolutely love the way all of the vehicles fit into the command centre, very clever. The projector is really cool, it looks very nice. It's great to see these light and sound bricks in the Agents sets. All of the little nooks and crannies in the centre are great too, I really love the amount of detail featured, mixed with all of the playability of this set. The minifigs - as usual - are brilliant, the uniforms look fantastic. Dr Inferno looks especially great, I love his white suit with hints of orange, and who can forget his hair? I'm really tempted to buy this beast now, though I'm not sure my wallet will forgive me for it. I suppose I'll have to cut back on Indy and Castle multiples for now... Thanks for the truly great review, svelte_corps, nice work -
Thanks for the great review, Brickadier General! The sub looks very nice, and I like the idea of a raising periscope (did the Batcave sub have that feature?) and the details on the sub look very nice. The inclusion of The Penguin, Robin and two of those great brick-built penguins really confirms that I'll be getting this, considering that I didn't purchase the Batcave. However, I am rather dissapointed that this set is so similar to the vehicles of Penguin and Robinin repectively in the Batcave set. I feel that it only really caters to those who havn't bought the set, and I would've much appreciated different vehicles. Overall, a very nice set, perhaps the best of the 2008 wave, despite it's lack of originality. Thank you very much for the review BG

Wow, great work, Sir Nadroj, that bridge technique looks stunning, very precarious and dangerous looking. The cliff face is great too, very snotty. You've done a brilliant job with Mola Ram, his headdress is very nice, and I like the idea of both a black and red cape, simple yet effective. I'm not so sure about the face though, may I suggest Cannonball Taylor's from Speed Racer instead? From what I can see, the Thuggee looks good, and the Satipo torso works well on Indy, that torso is very useful indeed. Once again, great work, SirNadroj

Ant Attack! (Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Diorama)
MagPiesRUs replied to SirNadroj's topic in LEGO Licensed
A wonderful MOC you've made there SirNadroj! You've captured the scene superbly, a very accurate reenactment of the scene. I love how you've made the vegetation and the anthill is nice. The jeep is fantastic, the bodyis very well crafted and looks very sleek. As for the minifigs, Oxley looks great from what I can see. However, concerning Dovchenko, I agree that he would look better with no hair piece. Also, I believe that all of the Soviets were wearing dark tan rather than green in this scene. It's a shame we didn't get any generic dark tan Russians in the Indy 4 sets. Other than those two minor gripes, very well done! Great work, I hope to see more Indy MOCs from you in the future. -
Very nice, Batbrick. My favourite is the Joker impulse. So many cool Joker accesories and a wonderful colour scheme. The banana phone is hilarious When I have time I'll comment on all of them, but for now, great work Batbrick!

I was rather surprised to see these beauties on the Lego website (Sorry for the large picture): The Last Crusade, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and 2 other pictures can be found here Sallah, Brody and the Cairo Swordsman look great, as does Indy's different costumes. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come...

I saw Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull yesterday. Although it had it's fair share of plain silly moments and is in m opinion the worst of the IJ movies, it was still a very fun and exciting movie. I'd highly recommend it

I bought the Jungle Cutter yesterday. Great set, plenty of detail and I love the engine parts. Colonel Dovchenko is superb and more Soviets are always welcome, although I believe they wore dark tan uniforms in this scene. Nevertheless, a fantastic set, in my opinion the best of the Crystal Skull sets.

Congratulations dragonator! I may try to get there next week

Agents Mission 5: Turbo Car Chase - set #8634
MagPiesRUs replied to Deinonychus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Wow, thanks for the great review Deino This set is really a must have for me. The sound brick seems great, the helicopter looks very nice and the car is superb! All of the James Bond features are really cool, though I'm very interested in how the ejector seat works (or doesn't work..). The car itself is very sleek and full of beautiful silver, and the inclusion of the new rims and windshield mean that I won't have to buy many Speed Racer sets. As for the minifigs, they all look great, especially SpyClops. Though it looks rather easy for him to fall off of his spider legs. Can you confirm this? A great review of a great set, thanks Deinonychus -
Indiana JonesCustom Decals Torsos
MagPiesRUs replied to SirScottLego's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Nice work, Sallah's torso looks great! I really like Marion's too, but I think her curves are a little too sharp. Smoothing it down slighty will easily fix his though. There's a thread containing several very nice techniques (and Phes jokes ) for them here, although it would be great to have an official fez. I do hope that at some point that one will be made for Sallah and the Brotherhood of the Cruciform. -
Wow, thanks to everyone who has voted for me! Well, it was tough voting, there were so many great entries Impulse I voted oo7 - A great Spanish minifig, with plenty of accesories and some nice vegetation. Great Work! Special mentions: SirNadroj - With a great 17th century hottie, as well as cleverly made chickens and stick bread, where can you go wrong? phred - PC aside, this is a great little set. I love the minifig as well as the cotton farm, and it would be great to get one of those wonderful pitchforks in a smaller set. Dreamweb - A very nice concept, sounds like something TLC could do. The dummy is great, and I'd love an Armada impulse. Small Set I voted for SlyOwl. This set represents just about everything I loved about the pirate theme. This is a great little set with plenty of playability, some nice Armada/pirate conflict and an overall terrific stronghold Special mentions: Fat Tony - a very lego-like ship, very Asian, great minifigs and simply stunning box art! Great work! phred - A nice historical set, with a great American soldier, and a very detailed and well made submarine. I love it Legolas - I really like the cannon design, and the idea of a redcoat battlepack is great. Nice work. Large Set This was the toughest category for me, but in the end, SlyOwl got my vote. A fine ship you've made there with a rather pleasing cartoony colour scheme. I especially like the design on the ship side (?). The collapsing mast is a great idea, and the Sinner figurehead is a nice touch. Special mentions: jaudeau - Nice work, this really looks like a pirate's heaven. It really captures the look of Lego sets of the late 90's. A superb amount of accesories, and the tavern is a very great idea, one which surprisingly wasn't used in the actual line (aside from the Lagoon Lockup). Great work! Fat Tony - I really love the ship, and the cave is nice too. Like your other entries, I absolutely love the box art. FelixtheCat - A great Islander set, I love the cliffface. However, I think you should've used your extra 70 or so pieces to create some nice Islander structures and make it a little more unique. I do still love this however, the leaf shelter and the ladders are very nice, and the alligators are a nice touch. That poor Spaniard Thanks for organising this great contest imperialshadows, I had alot of fun
-
Very nice, SlyOwl! I like the stone tiling, very effective. The sheep are well-built too, and the skellie disguised as a sheep is hilarious! I love the roof, very smart, although I think it looks more Asian than European. Aside from that though, this is a very good MOC as always, great work

LEGO AGENTS - Mission 1: Jetpack Pursuit
MagPiesRUs replied to Oky's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for the great review Oky Wan The two vehicles look quite nice for a small set and the minifigs look great! The two sided head is nice, although it would've been nice if it was a new head rather than the standard frowning face. The cyborg looks good, nice and cartoony, I like the printing on his back. The belt on the hips should be useful, not to mention the robotic hand. I assume that anything that fits into a 1x1x1 cylinder can fit in it? I hope so Thanks again Oky. Any chance you can get any more sets? -
Wow, that's absolutely stunning This MOC is ridiculously realistic - one really has to look before realising that it is in fact Lego. The rock formation is fantastic, very South American-esque, although I'm not entirely sure why. The shrubbery is great too, the growth in the corners of rock and above the cliff faces is very realistic. Finally, the waterfall is just superb! The effect of the splashing water (can't think of a better description.. ) is stunning, and the water ripples work very well indeed. Looking through the page, I notice another nice creation, good for hypothetical Islanders too. Thanks for the great find Bonaparte, Islander or not
