I received my Lego Magazine a few days ago, and in it was a special offer - buy the Castle Advent Calendar for $40NZ (plus $10 postage). It said that payments will be accepted until August, so I take it that that is when it will come out.

Hmm, this all feels familiar... Bear in mind that I'm the one who hired Calvin, so if I am to die, he will no longer be able to investigate. (OOC: Sorry, I'm still very busy, so I've just skimmed through the last few pages. I'll give a better defense tommorow, I'll be active for the next 3 days after that... )

So do you mean to say that lords, and lords only are involved in this terrible plot against the king, simply because they will take power afterwards? Are you saying that there is no other motive to kill him for anyone else? Wouldn't it then be too obvious (your way of immediately dismissing any other idea different from your own?) for a lord to be a traitor? The only reason I can imagine as to why you are solely going after me is that you are the one who is trying to kill me, who is stated in my role. In that case, I wil certainly be watching out for you. I don't know where you're going with this. How do we know you're not in league with General Marcus? You havn't voted against him, despite an investigator, whom you yourself claim to be innocent having revealed Marcus as a traitor. I have been busy lately as poxed as a Dwarf lately, so I havn't had time to take part in the discussions lately, but now I'm here, I Vote General Marcus, for obvious reasons. (Sorry about the inactivity lately, I've really had to rush this reply too )

I blame it on the edit button... whatever that is... ... Got any more wine, Friar? (OOC: No, the traitors can't be in the majority, they start with less people than the town in every mafia game. If they were the majority at the moment, they'd be able to vote and kill us all off right now.)

Very nice, though I do feel sorry for that poor grunt having to lug that big machine around all day. The siege engine itself is good, but I'd suggest making the colour scheme more definite, as it could probably do without the light grey pieces and such. Aside from that though it's fine. The orcs themselves are especially nice. I love the way they are all unique and have no set uniform, it makes them much more barbaric and sinister to me. The cape is fantastic, the orc symbol looks very accurate to the real one, and the lines around them adds some detail, and has a nice Saxon feel to it. Overall very nice, I'll look forward to this comic of yours.

Ach, another poor soul has been killed in the night, and a thilthy traitor has made an attempt on our good priest's life! These are grim times indeed, it is now more than ever that we need to drive this scum out of our once-good castle of the King. Perhaps you should've kept away from the wine last night my good sir... (OOC: This also explains why he hasn't reported back on his investigating...) Welcome, Byron! It's good to know you've been taking care of yourself lately... Calvin seemed to be a respectable man (for a fisherman atleast...), but I wouldn't put it past anyone here to be a traitor. Some of his actions as of late have been rather suspicious, but I still have faith that he is exactly what he says.

MOC: Agents Seabase of Dr. Inferno
MagPiesRUs replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Wow, great work, svelte_corps! An absolutely brilliant base you've made, I love it. I really like the whole feel to it, the hair tower is a great and imposing structure. The giant laser gun is really cool too, I love that it is able to be rotated and lights up. Also worth mentioning is that neat little moving platform that goes from the helipad to the platform, a very nice addition indeed. I'm really loving the hairbase, the camera, and eye/fingerprint scanner are great and the detailed interiors for each villain are very nice. The comic is hilarious, I found the Shark-O-Matic and the gunslinging crab especially funny A fantastic MOC, svelte_corps, you should really be proud. It is very true to the Agents line, and I would most certainly buy this if if were a real set. -
Hmm, are we not doing the exact same thing we did to Lord Martin yesterday? The only reasons we have for voting him is because he investigated someone yesterday, because he smells bad, and because a fisherman's brother will one day try to take over a ship... An investigator is essentially the most powerful role in the game life, and we don't really want to kill one unless we have valid proof. I feel strongly about this matter because an ancestor of mine, an investigator was killed back in Rome...

Couldn't be any better really. All of the scenes, all of the minifigs... perfect. I don't think that the TIE fighter is to scale though. The cockpit is made of a 4x4 dish, while the normal ones usually use this larger piece: It still looks like a minifig will be able to fit in though, there is a hinge at the bottom allowing it to be opened up. Just when I thought I might manage to make it through 2008... Thanks for the pictures, svelte_corps

Alright, let me reveal myself. I am Lord Ash. I was a good friend of the King, but lately he had been acting unusually, and seemed distracted. The morning after the Good King's death, I recieved word that one of the murderers was going to kill me next. Terrified, I enlisted the help of a simple fisherman. I hope that the good man will find this murderer soon, for surely he will try to kill me now that I have revealed myself. This is why I didn't reveal myself as a lord earlier, because I didn't want to give myself away to this murderer. Now that I have, I fear for my safety, and I hope that I will survive the coming night. I'm sure that there are yet some honest men in this citadel, and I pray to the dragons that they will protect me from my murderer.

Hmm, so is that all you got from imperialshadows' diary, or can you confirm whether or not he is a traitor? In the meantime, I agree that Mike does look rather suspicious right about now, with an innocent man having reported to have seen him at the scene on the night of the king's death, and another reporting the same. I suggest we all wait for an explanation before voting him though, we do not want to needlessly kill another innocent man...

Deeply sorry for the triple post, but I've got quite a bit of new news about Empire Total War. A Teaser Trailer has been released, and can be viewed here Also, a Developer Diary on Dueling in Empire: Total War has been released, and can be viewed here This game looks stunning, but I'm not sure if my computer agrees with me. There was lagging in watching the teaser, let alone in the actual game. Dueling looks very promising too, it looks like this game has all the components of a great 18th-19th Century Pirate game. Also, the first land combat pictures have surfaced: Enjoy!

'Twas but a jest, my good lord. Or course I would not suspect you (even if you have locked us in a smelly castle against our will for who knows how many days... ) We sure do have alot of suspects today, don't we? So far I'm most suspicious of Calvin "Fisheyes" and Mike the Servant, though I will reserve my judgement until they explain themselves. In the meantime, we should try to find out who General Marcus is, as well as all of the Lords.
-
I don't know about that. As Lord Martin said, he saw Mike around at the night of the good King's death, and we've confirmed that he noted down suspicious activity on the night. I suggest we question him, as well as old fisheyes, but we should be cautiousand follow our own judgement, we don't want another loyalist to join poor Lord Martin Lets not rule out Lord Gary (or is that you? Lord Savril in that case)... or even Lord Dragonator In any case, if you're telling the truth, you can be assured that a bodyguard will be protecting you. (OOC: Now I'm confused again - can you just vote a character? )

7411 Tygurah's Roar Review
MagPiesRUs replied to Batbrick's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for the review, this would be my favourite of the three monster sets. Not only does it have a great playability function, but it looks really nice too. As with all of the printed Indian pieces, the one in this set is beautiful, very colourful and detailed. Despite being oversized, i love the scimitars, when used correctly they look incredibly bad-megabloks, especially the dark grey version. As shown in Scorpion Palace, they work very well as a halberd when attached to a pole. The set comes with a great number of useful pieces too, including a number of dark blue and dark orange pieces, as well as the brown 4x1 tiles. What's more, you can pick these up really cheap, I managed to buy all three of the Orient monster sets MISB for around US$20 Thanks again, Batbrick -
Great pictures, Bonaparte, what an awe-inspiring sight that must've been. I take it that these were taken after you defeated the Mamelukes?

Wow, thanks, Blockbeard! I made an MOC based on a pictuture of the box quite a while back, and I believe a couple of people were interested to know what models were in the box, so it's great to finally have an answer (The picture is a link) Thanks again.

Ave, I am Tiny Pius, a torturer for the government... (OOC: A mafia game within a mafia game? Very nice! )

Looks like we've got another day or so to waste then... ... Nice weather we've been having lately...

In the meantime, ZeekyBoogeyDoog posted a guillotine vig a while back in the SW Kill Jar Jar Contest: More pics can be found here

Yes, Pencoin has been very quick to pin the blame. I will Vote: Pencion. However, if he does prove to be a loyalist, I suggest we follow his advice and question Mike the servant tommorow. Greetings, you must be the famous Friar Brown. It is great to have your company, my good man.

Mystery Castle - Game and Index
MagPiesRUs replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I see. Well, in the Roman Mafia game, I revealed myself as the government torturer after investigating and discovering that Hinckley was scum. Now, on any other website, the players would've taken my word for it and killed him, but this lot on EB are extremely paranoid, and always seem to trust the scum. So after about 3 days of rambling, Hinckley managed to turn the town against me and I was killed. Bear in mind that had I been successful in killing Hinckley, it would essentially be confirmed that I was a member of the town, and thus never voted for the rest of the game, and have a bodyguard protect me at night, so it wasn't all that bad of a move. I think it rweally came down to my poor debating skills, really I'm not sure what Hinckley means by ricecracker's case though, if anything, he played his cards too late. Out of nowhere, the town decided to lynch him, and after about 4 votes against him (6 votes to lynch) he revealed his role. Upon learning this, two of the bandits then voted against him, killing him. Had he revealed his role earlier, perhaps he could've prevented votes from the town. If that made no sense whatsoever, here's a link to the Mafia Index, providing links to all of the previous mafia games. -

Mystery Castle - Game and Index
MagPiesRUs replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I find that mafia games are usually more about psychology, rather than discovering the exact situation and role. The easiest way to tell scum from a townie is by seeing their reactions to an event, seeing how suspicious their posts are, and so on. So, to clarify ( ), we have to say the player's name and their character, but we can still just say the player's name and their character will subsequently be revealed? Personally, I think it would be alot simpler to just be able to say the player's name.
