Roman mafia game: DAY II
MagPiesRUs replied to Tanotrooper's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Actually, I think Piranha's murderer is part of the government, as he was almost lynched yesterday. I doubt the rebels would've carried out the task, as they would've expected us to do it instead. Piranha's killer must've been someone who voted against him yesterday - wouwie or Pencoin. Since Pencoin was tired today, I take it that he committed the murder, although I do think he might be a townie. As for Hinckley, I believe we should try to lynch him today, I find his story very unconvincing, and he is clearly starting up another alliance amongst the government to lull us into killing one another. -

Hmm, Hinckley and Pencoin, care to explain yourselves? To put some pressure on, I'll vote: Hinckley -
A few more pictures and an interview are up More Pictures Here Interview Here The types of government and the garrisoning of buildings sounds particularly interesting.

That's funny, I'd only just brought out our old He-Man toys the other day.. I love these, my favourites are Orko, Stinkor and Ram-Man. I'm not too familiar with the vehicles, but I really like the Laser Bolt, and the anchor looks great on the Wind Raider Great job, DJ

Hmm, not a good start. A senator has been murdered. However, this is all the more reason to act swiftly against these rebels. As there are so many people we do not trust, perhaps we should each make a list of those who we do trust. I'll start: - Batbrick - iamded - goggleson - dragonator - Hinckley - LegoLyons -
I own Rome and Medieval 2 and all of the expansions, and I absolutely love them. I believe them to be one of the most historically accurate games I've played. Not only are the graphics and scale stunning, but there is so much detail in almost every ascpect. On the battlefield you can outmanouvere and outflank the enemy, or attack their walls in epic siege assaults. On the campaign map, you can construct buildings, train soldiers, enter negotiations with countries, assassinate or spy on enemies, send priests to convert the people and burn heretics, use merchants to trade resources or create a monopoly, recieve orders from the senate/pope and elect the pope from the college of cardinals, launch crusades or jihads, defend against the Huns/Goths/Mongols/Timurids, and much more. To conclude though, they're great games. I can't really say the same about Spartan: Total Warrior though. I wasn't too impressed with it, and ithey chose a pretty bad time to release it - just after God of War. I'm really looking forward to Empire: Total War. The naval battles sound so realistic, it's ridiculous. Apparently they had been working on the sea and the wind for about a year and there will be around 100 different ships available. The land battles, trade routes and politics sounds very interesting too, but I'm waiting for more information on that. So in short: Total War ON!

My fellow Romans, time has run short, we must condemn one man or none at all. So far, I find two of us suspicious - Mark Antony and Acacius. Antony for being so openly traitorous towards the good Emperor. This could be an attempt to look to be part of the Aventine and Paletine scum, or perhaps wishes o be killed. Acacius says very little in his posts, perhaps not to let anything slip, and prevent suspicions arising about himself. Could this be because he is trying to hide his scummy identity? Perhaps both of my suspicions are wrong, but I suggest we put some pressure on the two.. .. And if any wish to know, I am but a retired legionary, who has seen far too much war in his time..

I picked one up from K-Mart yesterday I really love those brown braided beards and the bronze axes. as well as the dark tan troll. The set itself is great, with excellent playabilty (even if the gold doesn't really go anywhere.. ) and ingeniously made mine cars, anvil and hammer

Thanks for the review! I really like this little-ish set, quite alot of detail, it reminds me of sets from the late 90's More Soviets are always welcome too, and the new torso for Marion is nice, as is the new dark green alligator All of the neat little accesories are great too, a cup, shovel, binoculars and of course the cans of gasoline Again, thanks for the review, alex

Thanks for the review alex I agree that this is the best set of KotCS sets (although the airplane comes quite close..). Although I'm not too fond of the trees, the cave is good, and the jungle cutter is brilliant. Plenty of great features, and very detailed, with much of the engine showing and a decent cockpit (if that's the right word..). The general and the two Soviets are great too (could we have a close-up pic of them please? ), good to see that neither torso has exposed fleshy skin like the Nazis. As said though, it is quite a pricy set, I was expecting it to be just over the price of Race for the Stolen Treasure. Great set, thanks again, alex!

I'm known around here as "Tiny" Pius.

I just bought the Dwarf Mine, completing my 2008 Castle collection. Can't wait to build it

Congratulations guys, you deserve it

Nice, a good summary of European colonisation, and I really liked some of the camera shots I believe you mean 'general' and 'mean'

Crownies King: 1 Princess: 1 Wizard: 1 Generals: 3 Knights: 3 Old Soldiers: 13 New Soldiers: 9 Archers/Crossbowmen: 7 Total: 38 Skeletons Wizard: 1 Generals: 2 Admiral: 1 Black Skeletons: 5 White Skeletons: 16 Total: 25 Orcs Chiefs: 3 Grey Torso Orcs: 3 Brown Torso Orcs: 9 Green Trolls: 2 Tan Trolls: 0 Total: 17 Dwarfs Dwarfs: 1 Winged Dwarfs: 1 Total: 2 I'll get at least two Dwarf Mines when they come to NZ, then a few more Mine Defeners and mabye another Tower Raid. The problem I find with the 2008 sets is that quite a few minifigs come without weapons, let alone shields. I believe getting the complete collection will leave you with 5 weaponless Orcs and 2 weaponless Dwarfs.

It's not all that bad - Belloq's head was Draco Malfoy's to begin with anyway... Indeed, and Irina and the Russians have a star on the belts. I don't see anything wrong with communism being portrayed though - it's not like it was created so that millions of people would die. That was simply because of some of the leaders.

Would I be able to use two baseplates in the small set category, as long as the studs on both combined are no more than 256 (studs on a 16x16 plate)? -
Thanks everyone, that means alot *blush* I got a very fine bit of loot, including the beautiful Eldorado Fortress *wub* Thanks again, everyone *sweet*
-
Indeed, and the front part explodes. A video of it in action is .

I really love that Jungle Cutter *wub* There's quite a bit of detail on it, like all of the engine parts, exhaust and even a decent cockpit! *sweet* The little cave is good too, as are all of the accessories. To add to that, you get 2 Soviets and the commander. A must buy for me *classic*
-
Wow, a brilliant set. The 50's plane looks very nice, and could pretty easliy be turned into Lau Che's one by changing the colours *classic* The little stairway is a nice addition too. One thing I notice though is that the Soviet jeep is almost exactly the same as the one from Race for the Stolen Treasure. That's not neccesarily a bad thing though *wub*

The Attackship is available in Wellington, at Toyworld and Moore Wilsons. K-Mart doesn't have the Dwarf Mine yet, but they said they were getting some more lego soon *sweet*
