Wow, great news, thanks! Some of these sets sound very promising. It sounds like we'll be getting Imperials. Hopefully there will be a nice set for Imperial army building. Hopefully the soldiers will be getting some eppaulettes (gold ones would be great ) though, unlike the ones Sir Nadroj found. I'm very confident that we'll be getting a large ship though - how could you have a Pirate theme without one? A pirate without a ship wouldn't be a pirate at all! Funny that we'll be getting a kraken though. Surely the only real link between them and 18th Century pirates are through the PotC movies. In fact, I'm puzzled as to why a kraken wasn't released for the Vikings line? Thanks again for bringing this to our attention badger, pics and 2009 ON!

It was at Farmers, but I think it was a one day sale. 30% off is great though, the biggest sale I had ever seen in NZ was 20%. I've built Mission 5 now, and what a beauty it is! Not only do you get a stunning metalic silver car, but the set has lots of ingenious playability - the siren brick, Spyclops descending down from the helicopter and the ejector seat (which actually works very well, I think) are all brilliant! I'd highly recommend it to any Agents fan.

Mystery Castle - Game and Index
MagPiesRUs replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Note to self: make Dragonator unvotable in the next game I host. . Yes, I do have one planned, though I may wait until a mafia game after MC finishes, as I'd like it to be a little more complicated. Are we continuing with Roman Mafia after this? That Aventine pig still hasn't been killed... -

Note to self: randomly kill Dragonator off in next game I host. -
I was surprised to see all of the Agents sets (Well, Mission 1-6) in stock today - and at 30% off too! I bought Mission 1, and will be returning later today to buy Mission 5...

What about Batman? But yes, I'm very confident that we will be seeing more Indy sets in 2009.

Mystery Castle - Building Challenge Discussion

Entry posted! I really threw this one together at the very last moment, so go easy on me. Sorry to hear that you're sick, Dragonator, I hope you get better soon. -
Mystery Castle - Building Challenge ENTRIES
MagPiesRUs replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Having finally defeated the traitors and restored order in the castle once more, the mighty Lord Dragonator finally decides that it is time to see a psychologist about his split personalities... Enjoy! I apologise about the photos, my camera's screen is no longer working, so I have to guess where it is pointing... -
Ah, thank you. A brilliant little car, isn't it? I'd be very happy if we saw something similar in the Shanghai Chase (assuming these rumoured sets are true).
-
True, but a tank is essentially only used in war, so a consumer would automatically realise that it is a violent toy. The Flying Wing however, wouldn't necesarily be thought of as a military vehicle, so I think that TLC could get away with it. The main reason I don't think we'll see a tank set is because it was portrayed in the video game without a turret or cannon of any sort, and looked completely different to the one in the movie, even the colour. And the game even featured the melting face scene! Funnily enough though, the Flying Wing scene in RotLA is probably 10 times more violent than the Tank Fight scene in LC. Don't get me wrong though, I'd love a Tank Ambush set more than any other Indy scene, I just don't think we'll ever see one, at least not for a long time... Thanks for those pics. You don't happen to have any pictures of Short Round's getaway car do you? I've only found pictures of it before it has been repaired.
-
Thanks, The Cobra! How does he expect to sell that for $275 though? The set is simply the Brickmaster exlusive (which is almost identical to the jeep you get with Peril in Peru) and a jumble of parts from various other Indy sets. I suppose the Ughas are nice, but you can get two of them along with a large temple for under half that price.
-
Thanks for the news, darthperson! I hopw this is true, the Flying Wing should be a great set, and judging on how cool the getaway car looked in the Indy Video Game, so should the Shanghai Escape. It would be great to see Indeed, I'd love a Tank Fight set, although judging by it's appearance in the Indiana Jones Video Game and TLC's non-violence policy, I doubt we'll ever see one.

Which pieces would you like to see in future pirate sets?
MagPiesRUs replied to Shadows's topic in LEGO Pirates
Some great ideas guys, I especially like the suggestion of wigs and attachable cockades. Mitre Cap Mitre caps were used by the Grenadiers of many nations during the 18th and 19th Centuries, and would add some more variety to the Imperial armies. If done right, they would also work well for priests, and even a Khepresh for an Ancient Egyptian theme. -
Very nice, DNL. I love how the castle is actually built into the rock. And not just hat, but there is a waterfall flowing through it. :sweet:The architecture of the towers are stunning too, and the wooden house looks great, you've really made brown/frown work well together there. The little bridge connecting the towers is very neat too. Your vegetation as always looks stunning, and I especially love the carrot garden, very nice indeed. Great work as usual DNL.

Thanks Hinckley, I'll look forward to reading it, though I'll have to read the previous two episodes first.

Very nice, sir dano, a gory and action-packed scene indeed. I particularly like the facades on the wall, I love how the golden slopes eventually meet up at the window. One thing I'm left wondering about this MOC though is how on earth that giant troll could pull himself up that wall! Nice work, sir dano.

Thanks for the pics, SirNadroj! The pirate looks great, although in true TLC fashion, the yellow on the torso seems a bit off. Actually, the torso is very similar to the existing vested pirate's: The maid is beautiful (ignoring the man's head), and I'd be surprised if we didn't see this torso in a new pirate theme. I like the printing on the back of the Imperial, although I wonder if this means that they won't be wearing backpacks? Indeed, as well as Tusken Raiders, Jock from IJ and the Agents villians. Thanks again SirNadroj

CONTEST: Design your own Indy Movie! DISCUSSION
MagPiesRUs replied to Siegfried's topic in LEGO Licensed
Oops, I never got around to voting... Congratulations, svelte_corps, a well deserved win. Great job to the rest of the entries, there sure were alot of good ones in this competition. Thanks to Sinner for the great competition too, if I weren't as busy as I was in June I definitely would've entered. -
Just bought 7628 - Peril in Peru from the Warehouse at 20% off. Can't wait to build it. I may do a review...

Wow, thanks for another high-quality film, Doug. A gripping storyline, great camera work and great animation. The special effects, especially the water, look stunning, and the music is superb. The way you portrayed the drama and tension worked very well in this movie, especially considering that you're using Lego. I must admit though that I'd prefer a more light-hearted movie as America Outlawed was, but it's nice to see that you're trying different things, and to great effect. Great work, you've made a stunning movie and I look forward to seeing more of you're films in the future.

Sorry for the late reply, I've been very busy lately. Thank you very much, phred. Thanks. I'm glad you like the priest, it was hard finding a suitable headdress for him. Though I didn't use an Islander torso for the warrior because I wanted to make him out as more of a noble-class Aztec warrior, as shown below: Well, that and the fact that I only have one Islander torso. Thank you. Yes, I agree that the baseplate is too large, but it was the the best baseplate I had available that would fit the 'Large Entry' category. However, 4856 - Doc Ock's Hideout has a rather empty baseplate (thanks to Batbrick for the review). Of course there are admittedly very few real sets that are like this. Thanks again for the feedback guys

The way he's arranged he looks like Albert Einstein. Yes, the hair does look similar to Dooku's. Looking at the Crownie to the left, a light bley flared helmet has never been released, has it? Thanks for the pic, IS

In terms of minifigs that I don't have, my top three desired minifigs would be... Scorpion Palace Guard It's a shame that these guys weren't as common as the Dragon Fortress Guards were, I'd love to make an army of them. The black turban should be very useful, and the torso looks great too. White Armoured Shogun I've always wanted this guy, his torso looks truly fantastic. It would be great to have him accompanied by his beautiful barded steed too. Indian Red Shirt Unfortunately I missed out on the Indian subtheme - the only Indians I have are two of the Chiefs. I've always loved the Plains Indiansin general, and I'd very much like to collect an army to face my US Cavalry and recreate the Battle of Little Bighorn. Bricklink ON!

I just received 6765 - Gold City Junction and I love it. The banker and stagecoach driver are great, the two little buildings look fantastic and have plenty of details and I adore the exploding bank/stagecoach features. Most of the pieces are useful too, and I can never get enough of those tan baseplates. I'm a very happy Pie today.

Wow, many thanks, Sir Nadroj! This looks very promising. I'm a little dissappointed that the admiral doesn't wear epaulettes though, I really hope that we'll see them back should a new line be released. The Imperials just don't look intimidating or powerful without them. Still, looking forward to the pictures, Sir Nadroj
