You've Been Awarded (4 ) Point(s): Judges Comments (not all judges comment): The problem here lies in my inability to see what's actually going on. The story you're telling sounds great, but the focus here is the building. From what I'm able to see it looks like you did something decent, but I can't really see it all. Your photos need some help. Please PM one of the admins for advice on this, it will benefit you tremendously. No need to make excuses, let's get those photos lookin' good! So light, you need to have light. Your pictures, they have little to no light. And while we are on the topic of your pictures, make sure you make them large enough that people can see them. Your post should show everything people need to see from your post. They shouldn't have to go to flickr to view the pics...so I would say when posting, make them medium size. I like that you have a background, but mny of your pic exceed the background; I see a window, a wall, a family picture? Your builds themself have potential, but if they cannot be seen, then that doesn't do you any good. I would say if you are building terrain, and more changes in elevation; the real world is not flat! More than one plate shows change, one plate difference is not enough...it's just tall grass! Vehicles are tricky, but I like where you are going. Keep them small enough to serve their purpose, but at the same time, you want to be able to detail them, but not put too much on them. You can Update your AAR Post with your points to keep track. [GBW] CP2- FIlace - The first Volley

You've Been Awarded (9 ) Point(s): Judges Comments (not all judges comment): This build is great! I don't need to say how much I liked this or that...what I will say is where I felt it could have used improvement. Terrain inside the berm is a lil too clean, more damage to the LAV 25, but the skeletons in the bunker so fast...cool! Lighting is still tricky. Not sure as the dark background may throw it off, but not being a lighting photo wizard, I may know nothing so... All in all though, great build! You've Been Awarded (4) Point(s): Judges Comments (not all judges comment): Great Job! The artillery piece is very nicely done (I may steal some of these ideas for future use). The wooden pole dugout is a great design and you pulled it off quite well. Keep it up! I've done this wall idea myself, not as easy as people think. You sized it well and it looks well done. Lots of plant life, dirt, rocks, details. Good howitzer build. Figs look well equipped, great job! You can Update your AAR Post with your points to keep track. Thanks for Playing! -

The Great Brick War replied to Tezclatipoca's topic in The Great Brick War
You've Been Awarded (3) Point(s): Judges Comments (not all judges comment): This build is quite the feat for such short notice. The initial scene with the beach landing is the shining point of the build.Personally, I would have liked to have seen more detailed shots of the sub. Maybe we'll see it again. The factory could have used a little more detailing and structure in the way of some walls or something to give it a real presence. Given your time constraints, this being first SPEC OPS build, and managing the CP2 build; you pulled it off. Thank you for being a good sport about being the first to tackle this. Quick build, with 2 aspects, outside, and inside the factory. Personally, I would have liked to have seen more of an enclosure for the factory, but you did a good job with conveying the idea. Maybe next time, take some tight pics for the storyline so we don't see the entire buidl; we are tricked into thinking that you have a full enclosed build, and then at the end...overview shot! Surprise! You can Update your AAR Post with your points to keep track. Thanks for Playing!- 5 replies

You've Been Awarded (3) Point(s): Judges Comments (not all judges comment): Love how you cut the tunnel entrance out of the mountain. Fantastic rock work too. This definitely could have used a little more outdoor lighting to help the photos. It was little hard to really see some of the detail. Nice Job! Rock work looks well built. Good size on the tunnel, would have liked to see a full overview at the end, but all in all, you are progressing your story here. You can Update your AAR Post with your points to keep track. You've Been Awarded (2) Point(s): Judges Comments (not all judges comment): The baseplate layout is very similar to your campaign build which looks like you may have just moved some terrain pieces around. Try to be a little more original with each build. The design for the SAM is nicely done. Having a modular chassis to allow multiple vehicles to span over your different build settings is a good plan. Good job with the vehicles, I like the versatility. the open jungle plan is nice, but maybe add a bit more vegetation. Watch those dark spots with photos! You've Been Awarded (2) Point(s): Judges Comments (not all judges comment): Baseplate is clearly being recycled now, so this will affect your originality score. The MLRS is quite good. Looks like you nailed the proportions on it. The automated 50 seemed a little bit goofy to me, but that's just a preference thing. Next build should feature a completely new landscape, your capable of doing something great as we've seen. Stick with it! Would like some more views of the missle launcher, looks like a good build, unfortunately, we can only see two top views, both of which are very similar! And that base you are building on...you made a few changes from your previous side build, but not enough. I see trees relocated and a few plates adjusted, but the spacing with the tiles looks to be almost identical in spots, which tells me you are reusing the same build scenery. You've Been Awarded (3) Point(s): Judges Comments (not all judges comment): Great build fresh out of the gate and slipping it in before CP2 was due so now you can do 4 more before CP3 is due. The detailing is well done. At first take I thought "Meh, a little room with a double decker couch set." Went to sleep and came back to look again and now I see ALL OF THE DETAIL. Only advice I can give is 1. Figure out a way to connect that back wall so it doesnt look like its just sitting on the tiles with the studs hanging out on the side. 2. would be to post a few more pictures if possible. Great job! I look forward to seeing some bigger builds from you. Great first build; you understand the importance of detail in your builds! Maybe for next time, try to cover the studs with tiles so they line up with the edge of the build. You can Update your AAR Post with your points to keep track. Thanks for Playing! -
You've Been Awarded (2) Point(s): Judges Comments (not all judges comment): Nice and Simple build. I like the differentiation in the colors to show where people have moved or dug out. The tiles in the trench give me that WW1 vibe often shown in pictures. In the future, it might be cool to do something similar say 2 studs wide down the middle of the trench (maybe even a bit jagged) to show the boards above the ground. Pictures are getting better. Nice work! Well done, for a small side build, this shows you stepping up! I like the detail on the back half and the trench more than the front; much more detail! I like how you kept your build small and decided to pack it with details. It shows you put in some effort to making this one stand out! Be sure you are not standing in the light when taking your pics. Head outside and snap those pics, midday, natural light is the best! But hey, great job! The Great Brick War replied to paintballman's topic in The Great Brick War
You've Been Awarded (2) Point(s): Judges Comments (not all judges comment): Not bad. The artillery is very interesting looking. The detail on it is good, I especially like the way you did the firing computer. I'd like to see you push yourself a little more on your side builds as now we've seen what you're capable of. Start varying your terrain a bit so that when your changing elevations, like showing something dug out, your colors reflect the fresh earth being dug up. Keep up the good work! Good build, details, artillery, sand bags, dirt, soldiers...and terrain! I like what you do with the sidebuilds, I'm a lil worried because I know it's a matter of time before you amp them up! Watch out for the dark spots when snappin pics. They actually tend to draw away from the builds as people have to look harder to see what's been masked by shadows. Otherwise, keep it up!!!! You can Update your AAR Post with your points to keep track. Thanks for Playing! -
You've Been Awarded (2) Point(s): Judges Comments (not all judges comment): Not a bad effort. You could have worked a little more into this to explain your story. Could have benefited a lot more from some more detail in the like maybe sticking some white or clear pieces on top of the wave. Work on your picture taking a little bit. Definite improvement from the last one. Added some details in the terrain, and dock, but don't forget the water...otherwise why not put everything outside a warehouse? Detail all of it, don't neglect any part of your build or it stands out as unfinished. Lighting wasn't too bad and I like the fact that you got close up for the pics, made for a very concentrated shot! You can Update your AAR Post with your points to keep track. Thanks for Playing!

You've Been Awarded (3) Point(s): Judges Comments (not all judges comment): The darkness of your pictures bothers me all the time, but in this case, it actually works; conveys a very dreary time. This was great, I laughed, I cried from laughing...The facial changes on the President and then once he gets his gun...all calm again. The quick changing scenes. The detailed build and well lit pics, without killer glare from using gold tiles. Good job, you earned the 4s, I hate you. You can Update your AAR Post with your points to keep track. You've Been Awarded ( 2 ) Point(s): Judges Comments (not all judges comment): The idea behind this is very interesting and unique. This hasn't been done yet. I love the detailing on the machine itself too. The one thing that bothered me was honestly the background. Using the base plates just kind of drew my attention away from the focal point. Maybe try something else in the future, just a thought. Otherwise, a nice solid build. Well Done! I really liked where this was going...until I saw the baseplate in the background! Maybe go in for more of a close up to detract from me looking at the backwall? Better lighting, but the idea is to get rid of dead spots in the photo; those darkened spots where you really cannot make out enough. You can Update your AAR Post with your points to keep track. You've Been Awarded (2) Point(s): Judges Comments (not all judges comment): Like the idea behind the build. Introducing all of the characters is cool. Unfortunately though, there is not a lot of building in here. Your minifigs and storyline are super detailed, but nothing else. This build could have benefited greatly from some real landscaping or scenery work. Work on this for the future. Great job with the story line, but not too much as for building. Difficult for this particular scene, but maybe a mausoleum, some brick built trees...little details on builds with not too much building become big details very fast. Otherwise, watch your lighting on the closeups! You can Update your AAR Post with your points to keep track. Thanks for Playing!

You've Been Awarded (3 ) Point(s): Judges Comments (not all judges comment): Overall your tank looks well built. I'd adjust a few personal preferences with the ground clearance and the small tip at the muzzle. Again, personal preferences only. The build quality is top notch. Tons of detail. The background building is very nicely done as well. Enough little random bits of detail scattered about to keep you looking around for a while to make sure you saw it all. Well done! Background garage is basic, but not the draw for this build...that would be the giant steel beast in it's doorway! Good build on the tank! A few things I may havedone differently, but overall, you set out to build a tank, you did, and it is very recognizable. You can Update your AAR Post with your points to keep track. Great Brick War General Discussion Thread
The Great Brick War replied to TheBeeze's topic in The Great Brick War
For those who were not involved, you missed out on a short fun build with FRAGO #001. Don't worry, there will be more in the future. So we had to break down the scores to the decimal to determine the winners. 2nd place goes to @BoBKiD Nice Work! You've earned the one time ability to use paradrop for your Campaign (2) Build. Be sure to work with your team on the best way to implement this into your overall strategy. and 1st place goes to @Faladrin. Truly a great build for such a short time! You've earned (1) SPEC OPS Mission you can complete before Campaign (2) Ends. PM thebeeze111 for a custom tailored mission assignment if you would like to use this. If this is not redeemed before the end of Campaign 2, you will lose it. You both found a drone, that you can work into a story somehow. Thanks to everyone who jumped on this!- 315 replies

You've Been Awarded ( ) Point(s): Judges Comments (not all judges comment): You've corrected your build. Please be mindful of what you're doing before you do it. You need to seek help on rendering your builds if you are going to continue using LDD. This is the largest LEGO forum in the world, someone on this forum should be able to help. Please take the time to try and fix this before submitting your next build. Render, render, render. Please, next build that isn't rendered, I'm giving a 0 for presentation. Better details, more going on. Between this and the last one, world of difference. Also, You can infer things with your build, but if you clearly state that another country has attacked you, and they haven't even declared war against you...HUGE PROBLEM!!! Be smart and reread what you type, because look at the problems it can cause. You can Update your AAR Post with your points to keep track. Thanks for Playing!- 5 replies

You've Been Awarded (1) Point(s): Judges Comments (not all judges comment): A gun range inside the gym? Your machines look good, but you could have detailed a lot more. This is your fourth build and you still refuse to render your builds. They should be rendered so they look like a build and not a digital instruction. LDD, unlimited bricks...and no tiled floors, a range in a gym? This looks like you are still just trying to pump out builds to lift your score...my opinion. You've Been Awarded (2) Point(s): Judges Comments (not all judges comment): The sub looks promising, but I would have liked to have seen more of it. The ocean bottom could have been a little better. "A more rocky seabed would have burnt my laptop while rendering...(almost a day)." You typed this about your build...and it is extremely frustrating that you would say this. Instead of striving for the max possible points on a build, you turn in your lesser effort? When it is 1600 here, for me, it is 0900 on Baker Island. This is the link that thebeeze111 puts into the original posting for missions. This is when the build is fully due, by 2359 Wednesday the 26th. Your build was turned in at 1356, my time, on the 25th of April. So you had well over a day to turn in a rendered effort. Even though this is a FRAGO, I think you should have rendered it.
