  1. You’ve been awarded (6) points. Judges’ comments… To me the helicopter is the weakest part of this build and it's not bad. I am a fan of the rest of the build though. Your landscaping just blends very nicely, there is nothing overly complex about it, just nicely done. I always try to stress to people that it is the little things that matter most; I found your work lights to be intriguing and may use the design myself in the future. The only thing really lacking in a build like this is the ability for the story to really go anywhere because it is confined to this single open Helipad. Otherwise, very well done. SWEET BUILD! The terrain and location of the landing pad is great! We have the running stream, the layered shore line, and the snow, some of which is still on the pad. Then there are the supplies and troops and flood light on the landing pad. Then, we have the helo, which is a good build but looks so plain. Almost as of you threw it together at the last minute. And maybe you didn't, but with all those other details in the build and then the bland helo, I just think it could use some more detail. Shadows and lighting were your enemy when it came to presentation. If you cannot get outside, that's understandable. Try to remove lampshades and use Full spectrum bulbs as that will give you the best lighting possible indoors. Terrifice terrain though!!! I really liked the scenery -but Heli needs a lot of improvement... An impressive entry with many great details. The landscapping shows what you can do with a variety of plates, curves, and other random parts, and the landing pad is excellent, especially the details such as the floodlight. The helicopter is decent, but a little blocky. It would benefit greatly from some additional details and a more aerodynamic shape. Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!
  2. You’ve been awarded (2) points. Judges’ comments… I like the concept of this build, it's something that hasn't really been done before. Build wise you might have considered making the post a little bit smaller to beef up on the detail. It comes off as a bit bigger than it needs to be. Also, pictures could use a little better lighting and environment. Overall, a solid effort. Good idea with the bunker, but shrink it down...focus on the details a bit more than the sheer size of the bunker. It can be done. Terrain is tricky, do the basic, then walk away, come back later and do another level. Then walk away and return one more time to add another level. This way, it will appear much more random. For photos, try to remain consistent with your lighting. Some pics are less yellow than others, that may be because of a flash going off. I always recommend going outside or using full spectrum daylight bulbs. They eliminate that nasty yellow hue. Remember, we are here to become better builders and I think this is a good returning build for you. Feel free to use other people's techniques. Trying them here is a great way to practice! Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!
  3. You’ve been awarded (2) points. Judges’ comments… I am unsure how original this build actually is. Is that the sub that you featured already? If not, we can barely see it to judge. If it is, the only thing you actually built here is texturing a base plate to look like water, which looked okay. There really isn't much of a build here. The minifigs look good though. Seen that sub before. Not too much building going on for the raft. The figures look detailed, but everything is an overhead view and I would like to see them at normal level. The detail of the baseplate really helped with the contrast between white and black with the photos, so great job there, but this is not even a real effort from you. You're better than this, it looks as if it is a last minute attempt to grab some free points and that's not what we are here for, are we? The figs are nice, as is the water, but that's all I can award points for. The zodiac motor is the only improvement to that (though it is nice), and I'm 99% certain the sub is the same from your other builds. If you want to use the sub, perhaps try doing builds of an interior that we haven't seen before. Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!
  4. You’ve been awarded (2) points. Judges’ comments… Not a bad build. I would have preferred a little bit better lighting overall but I understand you were going for the night effect so that is hard to do. I would have scored you higher, but this felt reminiscent of prior builds. This was WAY too much like your reveal of the submarine. Differences were there were more troops and supplies. The ground is all 8 x 16 tiles, the roof is all 8 x 16 tiles...felt like a cheap way to grab extra points, and you've proven that you can build MUCH more than this. The night shots though were grand, really enjoyed all of those and the angles. Once again, this feels like a movie I have seen... I thought the first picture reminded me of a movie, and I wasn't wrong. I like what you did with the night photography and limited lighting. This build and story leave me anxiously waiting for the sequel. Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!
  5. You’ve been awarded (3) points. Judges’ comments… Very nicely done. Everything from the rock face to the snow covered trees contains a nice amount of detail spread across the build. For the future, it might make sense to space things a little wider apart or leave an open side of the build to allow for better pictures, but that's about it. Nice Job. Appeared crammed, but it is a forest, but good idea to leave a pocket to take photos. Shadows that were cast were good for the effect, not sure if this was planned or not. I feel like I have seen this movie... Another good build. I like the hidden building in the forest part, but the first scene with the photoshopped mountain looks off. Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!
  6. You’ve been awarded (3) points. Judges’ comments… The general feel of this is nice. I like your attention to detail in prepping the stock room, it looked very plausible. The command center looked good too but a little cluttered (the comic book scheme didn't help with that either). Overall a very nice job. Thank you. Supplies were well stocked so as for your attention to detail, well done. The walls were simply panels. Computers were the stand out along with the map but you have done this before. Looking at this compared to your other builds, this looks like a quick grab at some points and to tell a story. Story is great to have, but it shouldn't take precedence over why we are here, and that is to improve our building skills. overhead light should remove all of those shadows in corners as well. Great job capturing the atmosphere. The overall build isn't too complex, but plenty of nice details and custom stickers/paper displays help to make up for it. Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!
  7. You’ve been awarded (2) points. Judges’ comments… Nice build, but not a lot to it. Could have expanded your build area a little bit. The detailing in the brick was nicely done. Look forward to seeing more of your work Basic, but good. Originality, similar to a few you have already completed, so you might want to add a bit of variety to your side builds from now on. Build quality was good. Detailed walls and floor. You took your shots outside AND were good at keeping the closeups which pretty much eliminated the need for a backdrop. Great job ob this aspect. The premise is to become a better builder in this game and you are getting better. Way to go! This build is just too basic compared to your other builds. The build is well presented and has a nice story, but the build needs more to stand out. Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!
  8. You’ve been awarded (2) points. Judges’ comments… I love the way you layered the snow along the roadway, very nicely done. The vehicle is the only other thing we can really judge, as the building itself is a set, but we didn't get too good of a look at it. Great job with the MRAP Cougar lookin' thing. Over armored to protect whomever will be traveling inside. Snow along the side of the road was a nice aesthetic as well! Maybe leave out the backdrop building next time as I feel it may have harmed your score more than helped it. The snowy road is fine, but nothing too impressive given your skills. No good shots of the MRAP, making it hard to judge. Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!
  9. You’ve been awarded (3) points. Judges’ comments… Another great example that you don't always need to build big to have something nice. The snow mobile itself is very nice but the way you leveled it off with the tracks in the snow is top notch. Great job. Simple build, quick vignette. Good creativity on e LEGO snowmobile...trying to think if I have ever seen an official non technic one. Good job! Nice, simple vig. The vehicle is good, but the background in the first picture is off. Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!
  10. You’ve been awarded (4) points. Judges’ comments… Nicely done! I really liked this build. It is solid proof that you don't have to build big to really make someone appreciate a build. Your detail work is phenomenal and I particularly like the fire escape. Also, the fact that you built this with taking pictures in mind shows excellent planning. Keep it up! Heavily detailed buildings, lil empty on background, but creating the logo/emblem for the rebels was great. This was a genius usage of bricks and will help to encourage other builders. I really like what you did with the build and the story. Both are very original, well done, and leave me wanting to see/read more. One complaint is that the back of the alley is unfinished. A simple wall or fence would help provide a good background for the alley. Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!
  11. You’ve been awarded (2) points. Judges’ comments… Very Original Idea. Unfortunately this build is lacking in the fact that it is more of a story than a build and not much here for us to see. Your creativity needs to carry over from your story telling to your building. From what we can see here, you did a nice job its just not enough to really give it a great score. A good idea and a nice story, but the build is rather simplistic. Even if it's rarely shown in actual broadcasts, details such as cameras, lights, and similar studio equipment could be good additions. Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!
  12. You’ve been awarded (4) points. Judges’ comments… Without question, this is a top notch build. Everything from the cliffs to the camo netting, and penguin nest is well planned and executed. Very original idea. This is what people should strive for. Very nicely done! Great Sidebuild. Weathered, terrain, and the build of the small encampment. This is a very nice build. You did a nice job creating the transition from cliffside to the top, and details such as the penguin's nest (do they actualy nest like that?) are excellent and help break-up an otherwise simple rockface. Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!
  13. The title of this campaign is "Through the mountains" and in the description it states "The terrain is snowy and mountainous. " Do you really require more specific than that? Be creative so we don't have to limit everyone else.
  14. Campaign 5 Through the Mountains Map Name: Studica Grid: E8 Time: 2330 Hours It has long been rumored that the COAC and RON were breaking international law and moving troops and supplies through Xenor to try and gain an upper hand on one another. The recent tumultuous activity in the Brick of Nations has stirred up a bit of trouble for all nations. Since the latest revelation of the CoST base inside Xenor being bombed by the Xenor air force, RON forces have begun amassing along the North Eastern border of Xenor in preparation for an Assault. Meanwhile a pair of COAC jets were dispatched on a reconnaissance flight over Xenor after the Filace intelligence agent was executed in hopes of spotting more RON Forces. The two jets were picked off by the Xenor Harrier force. Both pilots safely ejected in Xenor territory and are currently on the run. Efforts are now underway by COAC forces to push into Xenor to try and rescue their pilots and restore some balance of order as diplomacy has long since failed. Campaign Guidelines RON forces are to be shown either A. Coming to the aid of the bombed base they had inside Xenor or B. Attacking Xenor forces. COAC foraces are to be shown either A. Searching for the lost pilots or B. Attacking Xenor Forces. RON and COAC forces can be shown bumping into each other or bumping into Xenor forces while completing the rescue parts of the mission. Though not required, players who collaborate can improve their score. The terrain is snowy and mountainous. All builds must be posted as a new topic in the “Great Brick War” subforum, the title prefixed by, "(GBW- CP5)" followed by the Country you’re representing, and then your MOC’s Title. Example "(GBW- CP5) Filace - Broke Back Mountain") Neither side should show their forces definitively destroying the opposition. Showing successes is okay, but not total domination. The winners of the campaign will be decided based on the points awarded from judging. This means if your team doesn't score well, it's possible for your forces to be beaten back. MINIMUM SIZE BUILD IS 32 X 32 All LDD Builds must be labeled- Example: (GBW- CP5) Country - Title of build (LDD) All builds must be new MOC’s and not prior builds. Photo Editing is to be kept to a minimum with only real edits of lighting and color correction. No special effects. Players may crop one picture of their MOC onto a background picture to help with their landscape if they’d like. Pictures cannot be bigger than 800x600 Players may post a link to an offsite host such as Flickr where Higher Resolution pics are located. Be cool and share your photos in the GBW Flickr Group! Please refer to the General Rules Topic for limitations based on your Point Level. Upon completion, players must also post a link to their build in the AAR Thread as well letting the judges know that it is eligible for scoring. Campaign Duration 12/29/17 - 1/29/18 All builds will not be finalized until the closing date for the campaign. Players can edit their posts up until that point. As long as it is 1/29/18 somewhere in the world, you can submit. Use this as a deadline https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/usa/baker-island The Outcome Whichever side wins will gain access to routes of movement negotiated with the Xenor government for future operations. All players who participate will be awarded the points they earn for each build. 15. Just a general update: Scores have been posted for side builds that were pending. We are still waiting for our guest panel of judges to produce a winner for the Recruiting Campaign Prize Package. It shouldn't be too much longer, sorry for the delay. Lastly, Campaign 5 will be landing later today, hope everyone is looking forward to it!
  16. You’ve been awarded (3) points. Judges’ comments… Very nicely done. The tank is very well thought out and executed. I like how compact it is but am also curious if it can hold people in the hatches. solid work. I really liked the tank views/pics. I thought the office shots were a little dark. But great shots of the tank. You went into depth and explained some of your rationale for the decisions you made in the building process. Good job. Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!
  17. You’ve been awarded (3) points. Judges’ comments… I thought the drone was very nicely done. The color palette was very interesting. Would have liked to have seen a little more surrounding detail but overall nicely done. Good build on the drone, not just the standard grey but you used a camo pattern. I thought the runway base was a good addition, although it looks to be in an unmarked location, this runway. Great collaboration between both you and Paintballman. It was just a side build but you guys did very well. Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!
  18. You’ve been awarded (3) points. Judges’ comments… Very nicely done. The structure is solid and fits the description quite well. I like the smaller locking door located below, is the little details that matter. Nice collaboration. Your idea was solid, a deserted island stronghold located in the middle os the sea. Your pictures were clear, along with the photoshop pics of the drone and sub. The collaboration between yourself and Sigpro was very well done as this was only a sidebuild, but impressive. The building looked a lil ragtag, not sure if that's what you were going for, but it worked. Be Sure to Update Your AARs. Thanks for playing!
  19. I don't believe anyone said Plantasean forces were moving....
  20. Johann Bricknuss- Xenor Ambassador to the BON Mr. Jimenez and the COAC claim they want peace. We informed the world we were investigating your claims and that was not good enough for you. So you and the filthy drug mongrels from Plantasea launch on Operation on our territory to rescue your ally's spy. Let's also throw out the fact that you have used a chemical weapon agent on us (which this panel has failed to condemn). And then you say you offer collaboration. You are a joke. By now I'm sure you have discovered that the man you rescued was nothing more than a decoy Filace refugee we picked up to protect our interests and it couldn't have played out better. The actual Filace Spy will be put on trial for espionage and will likely be put to death. A similar fate to the rest of your troops on our territory. We are done talking.
  21. Johann Bricknuss- Xenor Ambassador to the BON "Let us dissect what has transpired over the past 24 Hours here" An Open declaration that you have troops on our territory- whether they be Tyera's specifically or RON troops in general is irrelevant. What country in their right mind makes a claim that they have troops on another country's soil, states they are withdrawing, and then declares war???? You must be out of your minds. Make no mistake, now you have admitted that this issue is your own doing. We are currently investigating the claims you have made here. It would be nice to appreciate your candor and believe what you are saying, but we do not nor can we. Our security is our primary concern. If what you are saying is true, the COAC should have contacted us prior instead of taking matters into their own hands. Madame Secretary, I do not even know why you've chosen to speak given that your allies in Tyera have blown holes in your entire case. At this point you simply look foolish and to make matters worse, you photoshop our evidence and quote a fake news weather report to support your claims. This is lunacy, southern Studica is the coldest on our continent and this was documented as being in the mountain ranges; where there is always snow on the ground. Your credibility rating is worse than CNN. We stand by our prior statements. Your statements speak volume to our accuracy.
  22. Johann Bricknuss- Xenor Ambassador to the BON "My fair lady Ambassador Wilson, you are gravely mistaken. If blurry photos are not enough, would you prefer we live broadcast the destruction of the enemy base located within our borders and then document the remains of the fallen? You're political rhetoric does not scare nor hold any weight with our country. If removing an attacking force from your sovereign borders is a "foolish act", then I beg the question of why we even have nations? If these were not such trying times, I would laugh at your poor statement and move on but unfortunately, I am not privy to such luxury right now. We declare we have been invaded and will act to defend ourselves and a nearby country declares war on us solely for the purpose of supporting their Ally who has committed an illegal act of war......before that country has even declared war....and then you have the tenacity to proclaim we are the war mongers....? The Irony in your statement blows holes through your credibility like Swiss Cheese. Our nation has been invaded and by declaring our intentions to defend ourselves and restore order for our people, we are somehow at fault? If this council acts negatively against our country, we will have lost all faith in this council and will be forced to remove ourselves from it. We say this to the infringing countries, choose your next steps very very carefully.
  23. Johann Bricknuss- Xenor Ambassador to the BON "Ladies and Gentlemen of the Brick of Nations and the World, you know who I am. I have been recovering from injuries sustained while on my way to this organization some time ago. My government is currently working with the BON to investigate the attack on my delegation. Yes, an attack, you're hearing me correctly. I watched an explosion occur on the bridge that morning and several of my colleagues who thought they were being rescued wound up being executed before my eyes. I managed to escape and evade these pursuers until I was extracted. My arrival here today was made under complete secrecy for my security. My goal now is the same as it was on that morning I was attacked; only now, we have more evidence to support our claims. I present to the Council: Exhibit A This Evidence was in our possession prior. This is an Operative from Filace who was caught performing reconnaissance and plotting on our lands. As I had noted prior, we have several incursions we are aware of, but we now have physical proof of COAC troops on our soil. To the country of Filace we say this, If you would like your spy back, withdraw from our territory immediately and we can open a conversation. The COAC is not the only guilty perpetrator here though. RON forces have been long rumored to be operating on our lands as well. Given my time in recovery, our forces were able to discover a small supply outpost in the Eastern Mountain Region run by the Commonwealth of Southern Territories. Please allow me to Present Exhibit B taken by one of our night surveillance drones: To the COST we say this, your base has been identified and targeted for Air Strike. If your forces do anything other than withdraw from the Region, they will be decimated by our Air Force. War has been declared against our nation by the COAC and the RON by invading our sovereign lands. Any acts of violence we commit from here on are in our own defense. You have all been warned.
  24. Johann Bricknuss- Xenor Ambassador to the BON "Let this serve as notice to the world; we are a sovereign nation with borders. We do not wish to take part in this petty world meddling and destruction going on. Understand, we will not allow our borders to be breached any further. We have caught several RON and COAC culprits moving on our lands to try and maneuver against one another. We do not wish to engage in any of the hostilities going on but we will defend our nation if we must. This is a final warning to all nations; respect our borders or incur the consequences. "
  25. And with that Campaign 4 is scored and has come to a close. Both sides scored an Average Overall Score of 7 making this campaign a stalemate! Great Job Across the Board. Everyone did a fantastic job on their builds. Keep your eyes out for Campaign 5.
