  1. Very nice! What are you going to do with the second one? Personally I'd sit on it for a few decades and sell it off when it's worth an absurd amount.
  2. Just capitalized on the tower deal from S@H with the FFH sets. After taxes and vip discounts, I snagged the Molten Man and Hydro Man sets for $90 CAD ($67 usd) with the Avengers Tower still included. Not a huge discount but it's enough that I can't really complain, especially considering that I was going to buy the two sets regardless.
  3. This would probably be the best of both worlds, especially since the MCU's character designs are getting increasingly comicy. Something like a better-scaled Rhino mech similar to the look from the Ultimate comics, with Spider-Man, Hawkeye and Kate Bishop would make for a pretty sweet $20 set imho.
  4. Welp, guess I'm going to mastermind to feel out yet another Wizard of Oz minifig to gut for parts.
  5. Those look pretty great, what arms did you use for each?
  6. Honestly I'd be more interested in getting more comic sets than Disney+ tie-ins. Disney owns the full rights to the X-Men now, maybe we can get some more sets based off them.
  7. I'm gonna just copy this from my post in the purist superheroes thread: I can't speak for how the suit's gonna look in the films, but that should be pretty comic-accurate if you're into that.
  8. For anybody that's still interested, you can make a pretty close comic-accurate version of Ronin using the torso and legs from The Ninjago pod Cole with black hands, one of the suggested heads from above and the reddish brown spiked hair. The torso is almost identical to the comic version of Ronin, with the only major difference being that small Sensei emblem that only took me like an hour to erase if you feel like going non-purist.
  9. I'm actually considering getting a second one to just sit on sealed when they come back in stock at my local Mastermind. Seriously guys, if you don't have the set yet, get your hands on it, even if you don't care for it.
  10. So now that I've got a minifig scaled Igor build, I've started working on a slot in the hall of armors for him. Here's what I got so far (note the heads are there to make sure I had the correct height to fit him). Thoughts would be well appreciated.
  11. Here you go! It's not 100% accurate, especially around the arms but I'm not sure what could be done to improve it while maintaining some poseability. The last image I included has it sat next to a hulk and my probably-slimmer-than-it-should-be hulkbuster moc, to illustrate a sense of scale. It's about the same height as the Hulk when you look at them head on, I just don't have the counter space and lighting to get a better shot than what's there.
  12. Tommy Andreasen posted a bunch of early sketches for what the last season would have looked like on his twitter some time ago. They give a pretty good idea of what we would have gotten and it seems like it would have continued the trend if seasons 3 and 4 by taking itself a bit more seriously. The show was at its best when it was more serious like Ninjago is, and it always felt like the serious stuff was clashing with the constant humor. Like, when I was watching through the series, I was constantly confused as to why Merlok and Clay were the only characters that seemed to take anything remotely seriously. Even in the 3rd season when things started getting really interesting, half of the knights didn't really act like people when important things happened. It was probably best that they moved more towards a less silly direction, just a shame it happened too late.
  13. Ok, after many hours of tinkering I've managed to put together an Igor that's in the correct scale. It's about the size of a hulk bigfig and while it's not perfect (due to lack of parts in the right colors) I'm pretty happy with it. If anybody wants, I can post pictures tomorrow.
  14. I'm in the process of figuring out how to do it myself. I'll post pictures when I end up with something in minifig scale that I'm happy with.
  15. This is probably one of the better reworks I've seen using just the pieces that came in the set. It's still a bit too tall when compared with my minifig scale hulkbuster, so it'll have to be reduced in size a bit, but this is still my favorite so far.
  16. Dang, that's a shame. Guess I'll be looking into picking up that Batman set for cheap at some point.
  17. When was it confirmed that we aren't getting a set?
  18. So I took some time to mess around with the quinjet, and ended up adding a hinge to the big panel at the end of it so that the whole interior can open up now. Without Hawkeyes shitmobile in the back, I'd estimate that the interior can hold around 7 sitting figures, and probably close to double that if you're fine with them all standing up. I'll post pictures if anybody's interested.
  19. Well, I'm home from the shop with the three Endgame sets that I care about (War Machine Buster, Quinjet, Hall of Armors). I'll edit this post as I complete the sets to keep all my thoughts in a single reply. So far: War Machine Buster: The build was fun, the figures suck, and the arms took 3 seconds to mod so that there's a mixel joint to in the wrist for more articulation. Size-wise it's way out of scale compared to a Hulk bigfig, so I'll likely scale it down once I've seen the movie and have a good idea of what details I need to maintain. Something to note is that the set comes with a ton of gunmetal gray ingots, which are going to be super useful for mocs. Hall of Armors: Honestly this set is a pleasant surprise. I thought it would be small but it feels a lot bigger than the piece count implies. Igor is way out of scale, and while I've managed to clean him up a big he's still way too big, so I'm looking forward to seeing how people manage to scale him down. Something cool is that the set actually has all but 4 of the parts (1 x 2 grille slopes) required to get a full 8 armor cases, assuming you gut some of the small table things that hold stuff like Tony's hair. If this set goes on sale in my area, I'll probably pick up a second one to get a full circle of armor cases. Overall this a really nice display piece and I'd highly recommend it especially if you've got a Tony Stark figure and some other armor variants.
  20. Looking at the set some more, it's just dawned on me that the huge green mech set looks pretty close to some of the villain concept art from Nexo Knights. Not sure if it was brought over or anything, its probably just a neat coincidence.
  21. So I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the ice castle. On one hand I'm disappointed that it looks pretty small, and honestly I was hoping to get a larger structure to display. On the other hand that ice dragon is sweet and I want it to display as well.
  22. Wonderful. Like don't get me wrong some of the guys in that community take this stuff way too seriously, but still it's just annoying. Guess my block list is gonna keep getting bigger. Seems about perfect. Every image I can find of Thor with his cape from infinity war has a black inner cape, although that might just be shadows. Either way I think it'll look pretty good.
  23. Looking at the new sets, I think they're a bit of a mixed bag. The Batcave looks like a really sweet display piece (although I'm guessing the price is going to be a bit higher than I'd like). I don't really care for the Batwing or Batmobile sets, they just seem a bit blocky and uninteresting even though they are really nice nostalgiabate. The Mr. Freeze set seems pretty decent, but I've already got other versions of most of those figures so I'll probably pass on it. The 4+ sets are both whatever. I might pick up the Arkham one for the green castle pieces but otherwise they're pretty clearly not aimed at me. Overall not a bad wave. It's definitely more interesting than the last one in terms of builds, but still nothing really grabs me.
  24. So I know it's been discussed a bit here already, but I'm finding more and more that the hashtag on instagram for leaks is starting to become a cesspool of non-lego related posts. I made an Instagram account just to browse that hashtag and its at the point now that I'm having to block 2 - 3 new people every day just to sift out all the garbage. What's the deal with this new influx of trash in that community? Is this a regular thing that happens whenever a new wave of Marvel sets is coming or is this more of a "morons have discovered the hashtag and are now abusing it" thing?
  25. I don't know where you're located, but the guys at my local Mastermind here in Canada have confirmed that they're allowed to put the sets out on shelves as of the 31st.
