Daddy_Stardust replied to Kozikyo86's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Again, absolutely fantastic. Looks like a really well-done retail model... when's it in stores?- 13 replies

[MOC] Imperial Star Destroyer Tyrant
Daddy_Stardust replied to Raskolnikov's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Absolutely jaw-dropping. Possibly the greatest MOC I've ever seen. Incredible work! -
Really well done, the thing I like most is it looks like a retail set (albeit slightly SNOTier) and a perfect accompaniment to my lightly modded Solo TIE Fighter set (which using only a few extra tiles and curves I had already made completely smooth like yours).

Are custom requests only something that very important people can do then, or are they available to the public?

[MOC] another Millennium Falcon - 2023 update
Daddy_Stardust replied to stifos's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Beautifully done, that's gorgeous. Daft question though - where's that shiny C-3PO from? It's not the chrome gold one because the design is the 2012 print - is it a custom?- 70 replies

[MOD] Imperial Landing Craft 75221
Daddy_Stardust replied to Daddy_Stardust's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thank you so much, I'm off from work this week so will try and work out an inventory of pieces for you. I was just winging it as I went along so a lot of it was just trial and error, so never made any record of parts as I was working on it. -
Holy crap Robianco, those are amazing, when will they be released? You're so cruel always teasing us like this!!! Damnit Firestar need to release more pilot faces now, with the two new Lego rebel pilots helmets released this year (Dak and Bucket), along with this new FS custom, I'm back to repeating faces!!!
-
New updates over at Firestar... get your wallets ready! Phasma's arms: First Order arms: Phase 1 Clone arms: Griff Halloran's arms: Major Vonreg's arms: Finn's helmet:

Beautiful, the latter obviously being cadet Han from the deleted scenes in Solo I assume? Have you got a Mon Mothma you can try the Leia skirt piece on so I can see how well it blends?
-
It's this one (had to go research because I never pay attention when I buy heads haha); https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3626cpb0556&name=Minifigure,%20Head%20Dual%20Sided%20PotC%20Elizabeth%20Light%20Brown%20Eyebrows,%20Dimple,%20Smile%20/%20Scared%20Pattern%20-%20Hollow%20Stud&category=%5BMinifigure,%20Head%5D#T=C&C=90

I went with this, currently using a reversed kama waist cape for her flowing robes but plan to replace the legs with the new Leia skirt piece once readily available: Unless something new has come out that I've missed, they're the hiker legs from CMF series 16 with the print erased.

LEGO Star Wars 2019 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

Oh wow I hadn’t noticed that! Guess that’s another helmet to get for my collection!!! That’s not enough to get me to buy the speeder but looking forward to Bricklinking that. Thats two new oldschool OT rebel pilot helmets being released in this wave... so much for the new dual moulded one that came with last years X-Wing! -

Well I’m actually slightly more impressed by the unveiling of these remaining sets. A few thoughts... 1. Glad the Scout Trooper comes with such a small set, makes him nice and affordable (and hopefully very bricklinkable!), and the mini speeder looks perfect for stowing in one of our Conveyex carriages. 2. If those imperial logo tiles from the battle sets are printed, I could find some solid use for them I think. 3. Vonregs TIE isn’t as garish as I was expecting, would prefer classic colours but doesn’t look too bad. Cockpits a bit blocky though, needs modding. 4. Vonregs TIE comes with a new oldschool rebel pilot helmet. ? will give the droid Chopper legs and a new head. 5. Black Ace has more detail to the front plates than I was expecting them to give it. Still needs some modding but am happy to see it’s not ugly raw plates everywhere. The print to the pilot is a bit simple and Rebels-like but the helmet can go on a proper custom TIE pilot. Overall think I may get both TIEs and maybe a scout battle pack until the trooper figure becomes widely available... when the prices come down (as usual). Always happy with new prints of classic OT helmets! -
Absolutely stunning, excellent work. Hello TLG? Hint hint, look above and get to work!

That looks excellent barneius, definitely need to start upgrading the exterior of mine a bit more too now. I posted the following in the other AT-Hauler mod thread, but figured I'd post it here too just in case. I've only made really minor changes to the set, for as utilitarian as the ship is, I think it's one of the most complete and detailed representations Lego has done in recent years. Compared to the amount of work I put into the originally-awful Imperial Landing Craft, I was delighted to find myself so happy with what came out of the box on this one. Anyway, I filled out the cockpit with computers and greebling, which I'm actually really happy with and just tinkered with the outside a little. It's tight and cozy and the Imperial Cargo Pilot can't technically see through the glass, but I figure there's no way in reality you'd be able to haul anything with that ship without it all being based on computer scanners and screens anyway... plus I found a perfect use for a vintage inverted printed AT-ST computer screen on the ceiling (owned this piece for years and never found a functional use for it until now), looks perfect for lining up the ship to haul AT's! [ I changed the doors on the container to white and with the stickers think it looks so much nicer, but that's just a little aesthetic thing. The other thing I did was actually configure it to hold an AT-ST with the simplest of techniques... the very technic bar the container is lifted on and 6 standard pins. It connects to the back of the hauler with just an additional bracket and then three pins into the back of the AT-ST. I concede it's probably not robust enough to swoosh around the whole house at any kind of speed and you can feel gravity is having a bit of a fight with it, but as a really simple little playset feature to drop the AT-ST into battle from my son's Imperial base, it works perfect to deploy from one side of the room to the other. Considering I hardly made any changes other than a bracket and 6 pins, I'm actually impressed at how perfectly and easily it all lines up. Forgive the bad photography, it was hard to do this with one hand!

That looks absolutely fantastic, really great work and your tutorial is especially wonderful! Anyway, I filled out the cockpit (still a single-seater) with computers and greebling, which I'm actually really happy with and just tinkered with the outside a little. [ I've kept mine with the stock carrying mechanism because we're keeping its playset features intact to work with the Conveyer carriages (the Conveyex itself has been my big mod project which hopefully I'll unveil soon) but really love what you've done. Only thing I changed was the doors on the container to white and with the stickers think it looks so much nicer, but that's just a little aesthetic thing. Thank you for the link, though I will actually say in retrospect, the front mod I went with is arguable actually less overt with the gaps than that part allows. When viewed from the rear I learned its gaps are actually far larger than my "pod clamps" cover so didn't pursue this route. But thank you though, do appreciate it! I never took updated photos of the landing gear from below, but if the words of warning from others are to be taken, be sure to use skeleton arms instead of droid arms for strength. Haha, it's a simple case of just checking every day! As I've said in other threads though, I do live in the Channel Islands, so we don't get charged VAT, so that always results in an extra "discount", but there's not much that we do get here; there's only two toy shops, a local one and a really poor Entertainer - we get no exclusives, no offers, we can't even buy from Lego.com (no points, no shop at home, no Bricks & Pieces) - they refuse to ship here, but if there's an Amazon offer, there's at least that little bit extra to enjoy. Makes up for 95% of everything else we never get to see or enjoy! -
Wow that's excellent though, well done!!!! Your build utterly deserved to have won so very glad to hear it did! Really hope Firestar will release more pilot helmets in the future, Rogue One gave them so many options to choose from, yet the original run of three helmets they made are still unavailable after all these months, hope it's not a one-and-done thing. I don't want to sound like a helmet-tart or anything, but they print it, I'll probably buy it haha!

Was the competition for the Christmas rebel pilot helmet by any chance haha? I personally never bothered entering it, I love my old school helmets, but have to admit, when they go novelty, it doesn't have much appeal to me. Had it been for, say, an all new Rogue One helmet, I'd have been on it like a car bonnet though!!! Ah that explains it, we didn't have/don't have (is it fully gone?) Toys R Us where I am in the Channel Islands so it was not something I'd have been able to have ever looked into (hence why I still haven't followed if all Toys R Us are gone). It's a great version of the A-Wing, with a lovely character selection, but had to rip that awful new landing gear out and make one akin to the version in the Rebels A-Wing Vs Darth Vader's TIE Fighter set whilst i was building it. Why they changed it from perfect to bizarre for this set I cannot understand, god I hated its original asymmetrical, side-facing sloping landing gear! Sticking C-3P0 in that new Juniors A-Wing was such a mistake, it should have been another tech (I thought it was from the original blurred leaks). I was a school kid in the mid 80s, all my birthday party-bags each year from around 85-88 were Star Wars figures, and usually they were something crap like C-3PO, an ewok (perhaps even from the cartoon show!) or a Jawa. Kids wanted stormtroopers or Boba Felt, not dull toys who were prissy robotic butlers, teddy bears or hooded used car salesmen, and I'll stand by my belief that kids would likely feel the same today. Stick a rebel technician or fleet trooper in there (I know he's in the X-Wing, but you get what I mean), not someone who has no play value whatsoever. Kids get someone with some actual value ("your ship is ready for launch sir!") and adults get a cheap version of a character Lego undoubtedly didn't make their money back on having such a limited run of. But what do I know, I was only the target audience during the first era, and now a dad during the second era...!

Dude I have it pretty bad for old school OT rebel helmets and I felt guilty as hell for giving in and spending £13.00 on the full mini figure of green helmet Wedge after trying to get the helmet individually and being sent the original grey one instead... it's your money, but wow, is he really worth it? It's a little plastic head and a little plastic helmet, the body is stock and can be Bricklinked for minuscule amounts. We just shouldn't let these people get away with taking financial advantage of the situation that the Lego group so graciously helped people out with thinking they were disappointed customers. It's your call, it's your money, but hate to see people profiting from a system that's meant to help loyal customers, not profit those who are taking advantage of it. Just saddens me to know you took the plunge and someone's laughing his way to the bank because of it!

Beautifully done! Absolutely love it! But why's the poor lady in the red helmet got her arm on back to front? Know the feeling, I've only got three myself and they were an expensive investment, wish we had more but can't justify it. Along with the Imperial Crewmen who also use this headset head, I personally mixed their heads up with General Veers, General Cracken and the open-mouth variant just to give them some nice facial variety. What was the limited release details of the A-Wing anyway? I never saw it released here in the UK at all and it was never on Amazon.co.uk, until last summer when suddenly they had a brief massive Lego sale and strangely had it in stock for one day at £26.99, so snatched it up!

Happy to have inspired That looks fantastic!!! Makes me wish I'd extended mine now, but think I've done enough haha, it's already SOOO heavy! Only change I've made to mine since the last photos are having evicted the regular stormtroopers and replaced them with Inferno Squad (Iden has her helmet at last!) and replaced the inverted-tile wall computers in the pods with AT-M6 targeting screens instead of rathtar security monitors. Modding the Conveyex has been my latest big project! -

Ahhh so they are, was a more flattering angle than usual. I didn't notice these were actually on Brickset in big versions, I was looking on the instagram leaks page and couldn't increase their size from small thumbnails! -

Great money-saving news for me with the new leaks! Slave 1 - gorgeous, buying it!!! Snowspeeder - no interest, looks exactly the same; no new canopy, no new helmets, but will make the 4+ double sided new Luke face more readily available so I can have all but one of my OT pilots with completely unique faces... and if I gave in and used the 2012 face, they'd all be unique, but still holding out for another unique more stylised modern print. Imperial Dropship - don't like the shadow trooper, don't need the rinky dinky ship and don't really need anymore stormies. But they are the 2014 variant, so if it goes cheap, may use it as a battle pack if we need more troopers for anything. AT-RT - already got the blue one and this looks nearly identical, which I made black and grey and made it Imperial anyway. No interest in this, we don't collect prequel stuff. Podracer - no interest 20th Anniversary Figures - again, no interest So although it's disappointing in one respect, my wallet rejoices and looking forward to Slave 1 immensely! Obviously until unveiled the jury's still out on the two new TIE fighters from Resistance... don't really want an interceptor in bright red, and although the Black Ace is sleek on screen, given the low price and piece count, I'm thoroughly expecting the front wings to be flimsy, unfinished-looking, ugly, studded plates. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong though. If proven right, I'll just ignore it and Bricklink the helmet for an imaginary elite pilot in our TIE squadron. Most looking forward to the new figures from these action sets anyway, doubt we'll buy the sets unless they buildings have some good usage to them, but the Scout Troopers alone will be worth seeking out in multiples!
