  1. Been watching this project come together from the start, glad to see it turned out this great! Awesome job man, have fun in college
  2. I've been working on the 6x6, mainly strengthening the rear chassis (nothing too interesting). However, I want your opinion: what should the rear end be? Here are a few of my choices: 1) The original idea, a tow truck rescue arm 2) A tilting tow bed, also extendable. 3) Military missile launcher 4) Standard rear cargo bed Which one do you like best? (Or is there a better one that I left off the list?)
  3. Finally got a working gearbox! Now it's time for the fun mechanisms Yes, you are correct
  4. No, because the 12t gears move horizontally. If I used just one 12t gear, the transmission would disengage in one of the gears.
  5. Never mind, here's a picture of the gearbox, with the skipping gears circled.
  6. I'll model the gearbox in LDD and put up some screenshots from there, it will be clearer.
  7. Good news: I'm back to working on the 6x6. Bad news: the new gearbox is still clicking.
  8. Figured I'd answer some questions. The hood linkage is used in the bonnet. You mean the Black Cat? Yes, these are the wheels without the half stud protrusion. EDIT: They are actually different. Black Cat has 32004a wheels, this car has 86652 wheels. I don't really need three separate topics, it just ended up like so. I'm already thinking of ways to improve my topic format, so this horrible crime won't happen again.
  9. Presumably to fit the suspension piece in the tire
  10. Wow! Awesome model, love how you got suspension and R/C in such a small model, plus amazing looks!
  11. First thread was a WIP topic that died (I abandoned the project). Second is the WIP topic for the car you see here, and the third is the final presentation.
  12. It's finally done! UPDATE: The LDD file is out for free! Get it here. Features: - R/C drive and steering with working steering wheel - Front dual a-arm suspension with advanced geometry and sway bar - Rear leaf spring suspension with sway bar - Detailed interior with adjustable seats and opening console box - Opening hood, doors, and trunk Video: More info can be found in this blog post, and more photos can be seen here.
  13. It's the simplest way to add negative caster to the front axle.
  14. Finished, here's a teaser pic while I work on the blog etc. Feel free to download the full-size version (1920x1080) here.
  15. Update! Good news: I have a chassis. Bad news: I also have grinding gears. Does your Mini AMG need a big brother?
  16. The Mustang is basically done, just trying to decide whether I want to keep these rear "fins" or not...
  17. Already answered this question above
  18. There are no differentials at all on this truck. 1st and 3rd axle are both steered, though
  19. I was gonna use the CV joints if there's a lot of stress on the driveshaft (from the 4-link geometry). I just tried it with UV joints and it works alright :P
  20. Axles have portal hubs and will be suspended on a 4-link system. Gear ratio is 5:1.
