  1. Livestream went really well today, got the entire chassis rebuilt (with quite a few improvements, too). The front axle is mostly the same, with kingpin inclination, caster angle, Ackerman steering, and anti-dive geometry (you're welcome Aleš). Rear axle uses 100% Lego leafsprings this time, and thanks to a redesign of the steering motor mount, both drive motors fit under the good.
  2. Sorry guys, forgot to check my calendar, turns out I have plans for tomorrow morning! The livestream is still going to happen, just 3 hours later. Here's the link again for anyone who needs it.
  3. I made a hexapod with the same leg geometry (Klann Linkage) a few years ago: More pictures and an LDD file are available here if you're interested.
  4. Progress! I'm at 188 parts right now, still a little room to improve. So far, I'm really happy with how this thing looks, and it's very nice to play with.
  5. Hit the link, everything will be on that page. If you want to watch from YouTube, you can also click .Again, everything goes live this Saturday at 9AM Pacific Time.
  6. And here we go. I set up the Google+ Hangouts page for the rebuild of the Mustang!
  7. That's exactly what I'm doing: Building multiple models and choosing the best one, and entering that. I did the same thing for the Triple Build Contest Everything I model in LDD is only for a parts count, I'm building everything with physical parts alongside the digital version. Steering works very smoothly, nothing to worry about ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Progress: Took me about 5 tries, but I finally got an arm design that I'm somewhat happy with. The main boom will be moved via a worm gear system, and the other sections of the arm will be moved by hand. Parts count is around 90
  8. Alright guys, time to bring this project back! The 4 year anniversary of my Facebook page is a month away, and what better way to celebrate than with a finished Mustang, right? This Saturday at 9:00 AM Pacific Time I will be livestreaming the rebuild of the Mustang. Hopefully I'll get Google Hangouts On Air figured out, and I'll post a link here. Stay tuned!
  9. I'm not really sure how you'd get a telescoping arm to be so small...
  10. That crane arm looks awesome! Good work overall
  11. My updated working place: I now have desk space wall to wall (about 5 meters), and half of it is for LEGO only. There's also some storage off-screen for my electronics, pneumatic tubing, SYSTEM parts, and wheels/tires.
  12. Last night I started work on my second MINI Challenge model...a wheeled excavator. Here's the chassis design, only 55 parts and it has 4 wheel steering. Now to work on the hardest part: a good-looking digging arm.
  13. Wow! Amazing bodywork, keep it up!
  14. To be honest, i'm not quite happy with the model idea either, but all my other ideas were way too complex (walking scorpion, multiaxis robot arm, etc.). Maybe I'll try a few other models, since this isn't final. Anyways, the steering works like so: The orange parts are the body mounts, purple parts are gearing, and green parts are the hubs. It was actually inspired by Polaris ATV's
  15. Just finished editing the final picture! And here's the obligatory parts picture: That's 200, right?
  16. I used 49423. I don't have any rigid hose that I haven't already cut (oops )
  17. I'm back! Had a building session for 3 hours yesterday, and the result is a 200 piece ATV! Features: - Rear independent suspension - Front pendular suspension - HOG steering - Opening rear gate Let me know what you guys think!
  18. I'm using Autodesk Inventor for both part modeling and stress analysis.
  19. Damn, that looks super nice :) I might return to the Mustang sometime soon, maybe even for BrickCon 2014
  20. I've kinda given up on this project, although I did make building instructions of the front axle. Unfortunately, those files got deleted (dad forgot to ask before formatting the camera's memory card), so for now, this project is on long-term hold. I did, however, redesign my leaf springs:
