  1. @2GodBDGloryCan you stack 2 in opposing directions and center the interface in line with the center of the driving ring to eliminate the backlash? I don’t have that part to test it.
  2. These usually find their way into other regular retail sets within a year. I can’t think of any FLL exclusive part/color combos except for the orange Technic bushing.
  3. The outer sides of the half beams are recessed inward, which isn’t seen in that CAD model. It should be significantly lighter.
  4. That counterweight is confusing — if it’s solid plastic, it must not be regular ABS because that would shrink and warp in the mold. Guess we will have to wait. If it is solid plastic, it is a shame they did not add pin holes.
  5. These new frames are reminding me of Znap… I hope those counterweight parts are actually interesting instead of decoration.
  6. I don’t think the giant model part usage has any relation to the Osprey. I’m certain millions more of those parts were made for the Osprey and they couldn’t use nearly that many in this model. LEGO makes special part-color combinations for all of their large models.
  7. A lot of non-production parts are present in the giant Peugeot 9x8 — I wonder if any will show up in the secondhand market eventually.
  8. It seems the hope for getting axles and bushes in more useful colors is centered on themes outside of Technic. The two recent recolors of the half bush have been in non-Technic themes.
  9. Someone told me to use silicone oil in pneumatics to make them work smoother, but I never had success with it because they kept sticking. If you want an oil that is essentially the same, ISO 68 hydraulic oil is a close match (I use it as lathe way oil as well). Maybe a lighter-weight hydraulic oil would be the way to go.
  10. Those lime panes suggest to me we’re getting a lime-colored Technic set in the next year or so. Also, that new plane cockpit looks excellent.
  11. That new part reminds me of the weird semi-compatible Znap parts from 1998. I have been trying to incorporate them in a Technic model recently.
  12. Does anyone see any green 11L beams in this set? They are super hard to get and I hope they will be remade soon.
  13. Agreed, I think they should have chosen a different set to recolor, maybe the Jeep from earlier.
  14. Yeah, the other photo shows the 3x19 frame. The black looks like this part: https://rebrickable.com/parts/79194/plate-round-1-x-1-with-hollow-stud-and-bar-on-underside-long-space/#part_usage
  15. Green 3x19 frames, new claw parts, new A frame parts, looks like a cool set!
  16. I know for sure that 9398 came with a V2 receiver because my new one as well as a used one both had them. The 42030 I have seen did not have any V2 receivers (I do not own one). Maybe LEGO was offloading stock and put one in your set.
  17. If you don't mid a small gap between the panel and the visor, you could use 2x part 36840 and attach the studs to the panel holes.
  18. The real car has a color similar to sand green and the color looks more correct in the bottom left portion of the image with the box front. Excited for this one!
  19. Placed my order mid January and got my shipping notice 7 days ago. I don’t remember how long it takes to get to USA but I think it took 2 weeks after shipping last time.
  20. I finally got around to fixing my 32181 shock absorber with a broken cap. I designed and 3D printed it, and I wanted to share the file in case anyone else also has a broken part. https://www.printables.com/model/400829-replacement-cap-for-lego-32181-damped-shock-absorb
  21. These actually appear to be a new, larger hoop piece!
  22. I don’t think anyone can say what color is strongest and what color is weakest — it seems many batches are using plastic from a different supplier. I got a UV flashlight recently and I notice some same color parts fluoresce while others don’t, even if they were made in the same year. Yellow is one of these colors. This also works well to differentiate the yellow engine piston parts and mismatching red connectors. I will check the yellow gear rack with the light.
  23. Can anyone confirm they are made of ABS? If so, you can use solvent-based glue to chemically weld then together.
  24. Thanks so much for the heads up! I was finally able to stock up on the small pneumatic cylinders (5 USD each!) and some other parts from 42145.
  25. Surprisingly I have found in more than one instance wanting a 2x5 L-shape liftarm. That would be useful for me.
