I hope there's a good variety of character minifigs. It'd suck if most characters were brick built. I mean it makes sense for some of the robots/enemies, but I want Knuckles, Tails, Amy etc as minifigs. I hope the rolling ball just houses a normal scale minifigure so the minifigures can function as normal without it. Maybe it'll be similar to the Jurassic World Gyrospheres? Anybody think maybe it's codenamed Lemon because Super Sonic is yellow? Wonder if we'll get Super Sonic represented early on since they already have the mould?

Probably CoComelon or Peppa Pig then. Unless Lego got the Paw Patrol licence.. Dunno, is there a new Trolls or Minions movie/series coming?

Yeah, I wonder how much they'll lean into the International aspect of the new world building. I'm expecting characters celebrating Kwanzaa/Hanukkah/Holi/Eid/Quinceañera/etc or at least demonstrating different cultures. I wonder if Lego will ever give us a minidoll in a hijab, though I can imagine that'd be controversial with the arguments surrounding gender equality? Also, after Stephanie (who was Barbie pretty much), I love that they haven't gone with the cookie cutter blonde, straight haired, blue eyed Caucasian girl this time around with Nova and Olly. Even Matilde seems to have teal eyes. I wonder if Leo will be our sort of audience self insert character, he's the one who seems to be conceptualised as having to adjust to life in Heartlake the most and get to know everyone with all the insecurities that come with that. It's great that the male characters are as fleshed out as the girls this time around and aren't regulated to love interest/dad/background employee.

it would be a big gamble for Lego, but I'd love all new characters in the main Ninjago theme, they could keep the old Ninja for the Core subtheme and make a permanent decision based on how each theme performs financially

They are now thanks to their movie in 2022. Might make it more likely we'd get them in their Rescue Rangers attire at some point, though Chip would need a new head mould so probably not.

These all sound interesting. Hopefully the Skate park will merge well with the 2023 Friends one. An apartment building could be great if executed well and people will probably buy more than one and turn it into a modular. I'm interested to see what the Urban Centre will consist of. Hopefully the Demolition Site will have a wrecking ball vehicle and a dump truck since we've had so many bulldozer/loader/tractor things over the last couple of years. We just had a family house with an electric car in the last year or two, so hopefully this new one will be different. Some of those sets sound like they have potential to give us some good animals

I just assumed Autumn would be the American one. Though now you mention it, she could have been brought up in Africa by Mia and the family just moved back to HLC? The whole International School setup reminds me of Mattel's Generation Girl doll line from last century; There was a Caucasian American actress girl, an African American up and coming fashion model, a British musician, an Australian skater girl, a Latin American athlete, a half German half Italian artist, a Japanese gamer and some DJ guy (I think he was American) all attending International High in New York (I think). They all worked together on the school magazine Generation Beat and had inspirational adventures about being yourself and helping others etc. The 2023 Lego Friends gives me big nostalgia for that franchise, though I expect Lego's offering to feel more intelligent, complete and well rounded by comparison.

Oh yeah, just checked the 2023 Hideout set on Lego.com and there's no instructions yet. Boo! . I'm getting super curious for season 4 of the MK show.. I have so many questions! If time travel is involved, will we be seeing Mei's ancestor in the summer wave in his horse or Dragon form? What is Mo if he was a kitten in the Ming Dynasty? A demon? He's not like any of Sandy's other cats who all mysteriously disappeared after the pilot episode. In season 3 Tang said he'd met Pigsy's parents, who are anthro pigs in the photographs in Pigsy's restaurant; yet in the novel, Zhu Bajie was put in the womb of a normal pig . Maybe season 4 will answer the questions of who Sandy, Tang and Pigsy really are? Are they the original pilgrims with false memories? , descendents of the original pilgrims? or reincarnated versions of the pilgrims? Why could MK lift the staff before meeting Sun Wukong? Is he descended from The Monkey King's children from the unofficial sequel novel? Is he a hair clone with false memories? What's going on with these people? We need answers dagnabbit!

Mattel did it with their Monster High Create-A-Monster and their Inner Monster sub themes. I don't know how many kids were into it, but adult collectors went wild for them, paying extremely inflated prices on the secondary market

The sets are up on Lego's website, so the instruction PDFs with the parts listed should be downloadable. Anybody know when the Monkey King Marketplace polybag will be available? Don't want to buy all the MK stuff I want in January for these promos if the polybag is coming soon but only available with MK purchases like the last one?

Yeah, Liann seems to enjoy the comic book art style as she's also the "arty" one of the new group like Emma used to be. She also loves skateboarding. Olly is into fashion design and is good at doing it on a budget as his family doesn't have much money. He's chasing fame, like Andrea, with his YT channel. Yeah, Leo has Stephanie's love of sports and cooking. I wonder if the two will interact? We still don't know what the teased plans for Stephanie are yet. Aliya and Zac seem to be the overachievers of the group who will probably learn a life lesson about not stressing out over pushing themselves too hard in the comics/show. I love the little detail in set 41740 where Aliya needs Paisley's reassurance over her F graded school paper. Paisley's mother was a recording artist before she died, it'd be cool if her mother turned out to be Livi, the pop star character from a few years ago in the theme as a nod to Friends history. I wonder if many of the main 8 will be from different countries since they're attending an International School? If so, I hope different accents will be well represented in the show. The more I learn about this reboot, the more I realise how much thought, care and research Lego have put in to really round out these characters and to create plenty of varied storytelling elements for children. It doesn't feel like a Lego theme, it feels like a Fashion Doll franchise like Monster High or Rainbow High, but done very well. Wouldn't it be weird if Hasbro eventually brought out Lego Friends Dolls, like how Lego brought out Hasbro's Optimus Prime? Anybody know when/how the new Lego Friends Liann Polybag will be available? Don't want to buy the many Friends sets I want for the Blacktron thing if the Friends Polybag is coming soon, but only with Friends purchases

Hope they're as good as the 2023 Lego Friends Skate Park and the many Lego Friends Ice Cream Parlours. Also hope the German Shepherd/Alsatian puppy shows up again in one of them so it's not just exclusive to the Police set

Lego partnered with Hasbro to make the Optimus Prime set. Hasbro should have made fashion dolls based on the 5 main girls from Lego Friends, or even the 8 new Friends for 2023.

While I do like prints in sets where I don't mind the prints (like Vidiyo Beatbits), I like having the option to not apply the stickers most of the time; like with The Goat Boat set, you can leave the Asgard Tours stickers off and use the build as a Viking ship, if those parts were printed it could only be a modern tourist ride. Though I suppose you can remove prints with a pencil eraser, but it'd be a ballache

Do we even know if Dreamzzz is the final name? Monkie Kid or Avatar or something was "Leaf" during the development then the theme name changed on release. I don't know if Leaf was copyrighted like Dreamzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz though?

For anyone in the UK still sleeping on this awesome retired Lego set, it's £35 in ASDA right now. That's £20 cheaper than the RRP and it has the extra sticker sheet to turn it into an ASDA store.

Yeah, we're apparently getting a special around February time to kick off the series. I wonder if they'll stick with this animation style, or if we'll get something similar to Girls On A Mission eventually? I think there's been at least 3 different animated styles over the 11 years of G1 Friends. Also, who's that on Autumn's lap? It's not her dog Daisy.. It looks a bit like Aliya's dog Aira maybe, though the colour is wrong?
