  1. How the winner proves it is up to them, they can make a 3d model, disassemble on video or with pictures. for a 150pt model this should not be to much work or to hard in exchange for a prize(if available).
  2. nah, everyone is responsible for their own part count and only the winners will have to proof that they actually used X-amount or less.
  3. I think people build MORE than enough cars as it is, the paiges are swarmed with them. I love the fact that people build stuff out their comfortzone in contests, it makes for way more innovating and interesting (for me) builds to follow. The limited parts idea could be fun but why limit it to cars? How about we just make it a "build something epic with X-amount of parts" contest? If people really want to build a car they can, and others don't get limited in their creativity. This should be a drastically shorter contest though. We don't need more than a month to build say a 150 part MOC. And 150pt MOC's won't create very interesting build topics I fear...
  4. Thanks guys! Glad you all like it. Getting praised is awesome ofcourse, but would also like to improve upon myself, both as a lego builder and a video creator. So I'd like to hear some (constructive) criticism on my work as well. What would you have done differently? I made a picture under her skirt (hope it doesn't get flagged as inappropriate content).
  5. That's great to hear!, I'm curious what you come up with! Thank you! It is getting harder and harder to invent these levels of crazy though
  6. This is actually ridiculously useful, I'm going to make myself a set! Thanks for sharing.
  7. Enjoy : It looks like a pure torture device, and it's ment to, but in reality all mechanics are set up to stop, or fold out of the way JUST in time Most of us have seen this experiment: You know it won't actually reach your face, but your body will scream in fear "GET OUT OF THE WAY!" anyway. That's a "fun" scary feeling, but completely different from a haunted mansion scary feeling so This gave me the idea to create a mechanical scare ride. my goal was to use as many different potential mechanical hazards as possible so each station has a different way of almost killing you (if everything goes well...). This thing is HUGE! 105x74x39 CM or 41x29x15 INCH I literally ran out of black pins and liftarms longer that 7L. Believe it or not, I built this thing in 23 days, followed by 6 days of filming and editing. Yes, I had a lot of spare time, and I may have gotten somewhat obsessive about this project... LOL I used 14 motors to power everything and 4 SBricks to control it all. Everything is automated with SBrick sequences to make the cart go round and to stop all contraptions JUST in time. In theory one could program the thing to have multiple carts go around at once, but I don't like programming, and doing so would take A LOT of time. the station first perfectly aligns the cart, and then locks it in with liftarms on either side, when it hits the wedge on the fordable walkway the safety bar pops open. The little gate is simply powered with a 9V micro motor. Some contraptions get pushed out of the way by the conveyor belt, and others (the scissors, choppers and the stabbers) have a wedge lock system. They have tracks with 5L liftarms on them on specific places. If those liftarms reaches a wedge below the tracks they push the wedge down, this makes a pin rise or lower to block an axle from turning. that axle is connected to a motor with a clutch gear so it just slips. This controls when and at what point a contraption stops. I didn't make a complete build plan because that would take forever, but I can imagine someone that has more lego than me could make an epic haunted mansion ride for minifigs with this track system. With that in mind I made a 3D file of the most basic loop that can be expanded by lengthening the conveyor belt and mirroring the entry side of a given segment to make either a left or right turn, the rest is up to the builder. LINK TO 3D FILES If you want to see build pictures LOOK HERE Well, That's about it!
  8. Hey, Sorry, but no I don't. To make instructions of something with this many parts would take forever and there's so few people that either have the parts needed or the resources to get them... Also, it's already been deconstructed and currently transformed into this (almost finished) thing:
  9. Good reviews as usual, very in-depth for what they are. I didn't know about the panels coming in DBG, I feel a bricklink order coming up.
  10. I think of it as a retro thing. Back then studded LEGO was the best and now we have something I personally find better but I'll occasionally revisit the old style. Back then the first mario was the best game and now we have games I personally find better but I'll occasionally revisit the old ones. Back then vinyl records were the best and now we have something I personally find better but I'll occasionally I listen to an old record. There will always be a love for retro because many people are nostalgic, and I think that is the place studded LEGO resides.
  11. Building something new is certainly a challenge, specially in GBC territory, but that's a nice build man!
  12. This could be really usefull for GBC builds! I had 2 other ideas to improve the profile designer I'd love an "add text" option so you can label the buttons and sliders in the profile designer like "cargo train 1 and "passenger train 2". Especially when you're like me and you occasionally have 6 SBricks controlling 22 actions in one profile this would be helpful, because this is chaos: I'd also love a slider bar element with a number of pre-definable motor states. I imagine a slider that you can tell how many predefined states you need, like an option to set anywhere form 2 to 5 (or more) pre-defined motor states. Each dot on the line represents a pre-defined motor state and if you drag the selection dot, wherever you release it, it "snaps" to the closest dot on the line and switches over to that motor state. That way you can get for instance a 5 states dial to have: state 1: 100% turning clockwise state 2: 50% turning clockwise state 3: motor off state 4: 50% turning counter clockwise state 5 100% turning counter clockwise Some applications require me to "jump" from 50% to 100% motor speed. with a normal slider I can't skip all the speeds between 100% and 50% motor speed and it's nearly impossible to reliably slide it to that exact 50% point. Anyway, just ideas...
  13. Ha! Nice to see it here Did I give you the idea?
  14. here ya go. Its basically a freefloating 36T dubbel bevel gear with 2 3L liftarm's attached to the off-center holes that is in turn connected to an axle that can move back and forth. When the axle comes back it also pushes the reload flappy thingy back. Hope it helps!
  15. The vehicle it's based upon is most definitely a (dubbel) zeppelin, doesnt have warp drive or similar and it comes from a serie that isn't set in the far far future So I'd say fair game.
  16. In it's core its an advanced version of a zeppelin, I see no problem. Nice entry, by the way!
  17. It was a labor alright, so much so that it's also the reason I'm not competing in the contest. I cant wait to start the next one, once a MOC is done and I've played with it for an hour, I lose intrest and at the same time my mind has already been on a new project for a couple of days. Does anyone like the building more than the having of the model? PS: YAY 10.000 subscribers!
  18. I wanted to build a tank for a while now, but not a regular tank... I don't really do regular... Instead I came up with this fully remote controlled unusual war machine, enjoy! Normal drive mode. Fully unfolded howitzer mode. I wanted it to be a jack of all trades so I also built an anti-air gun with a 4 barrel alternating recoil system. The nose I lined with 4 canons that are fired using an SBrick sequence. Both sides have retractable gatling guns because of reasons. Naturally the main gun can rotate and the main canon tilts up. It's driven by 4 XL motors to make it go... still not very fast because the thing heavy and big! It requires 2 operators, one is the driver, the other is the gunner. It's controlled using 5 SBrick's. and a rather elaborate control panel on my tablet. In total it uses 18 motors to drive all the individual functions independently and at the same time. weight : 5.5kg/12.1lbs size drive mode : 53x33x28 cm or 20x13x11 inch size howitzer mode : 79x37x56 cm or 31x15x22 inch This has been quite a fun build, the filming and editing... Well, it took a while longer than usual because I wanted to go the extra mile on the camera work and the story line. I'm glad it's done because I'm already looking forward to the next build! Hope you like it!
  19. The XL sprocket is the only interesting part in the new lineup for me, so I'm not exactly getting spoiled. I had hoped that the inside would have teeth along the edge to make it even easier to gear down but hey, You can't have it all I guess. I still want 8 of them for no apparent good reason! @Jim Thank you for making these reviews. I can only imagine the time and effort it takes to make them. Your work is greatly appreciated!
  20. Might not be a bad idea, the competition has so much activity that other posts disappear out of sight so quickly they might not get the attention they deserve...
  21. I'm glad to see the immortal/mortal system. I might just take this challenge on...
