[SR - OKT] Bring on the beer, dude !
Thomas Waagenaar replied to Professor Thaum's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Lovely building! I'm surprised they even take the barrels by boat rather than floating them down! I suppose it does help to prevent them smashing on the rocks though... :P -
[RESOLVED] Whoever changed the font for this sub-forum

Readability it isn't an issue, although if it's bold it does become harder to read! It's more that it just feels awkward! -

I am inclined to agree. I dislike this new font mostly on my phone. It feels awkward. The normal text etc seems fine to me, but the "bold" text in titles just doesn't sit right with me... 😅 -

Woah, looks nice! It really is the foliage that does it for me! Big fan of such lush vegetation! -

To add to what Bregir typed, If you want, there's also a "Discord" server for Lego Pirates, that has a BOBS section. Where people can answer your questions and help you as well! This is the link: https://discord.gg/AKPnSrUB

Woah, that's an amazing looking composition! Lovely buildings (Do I spot some of the modulars in there too?), and cute ship!

Looking excellent as always! -
Ah, Haunted Hallowdijk, nothing good ever came from there. The area was first settled a couple of hundred years ago, but that settlement eventually collapsed into the mud. Things picked up again when Herschel De Bruer came and established himself. Some say he wanted to escape the persecution of the city for worshipping Hades. But if that was the case, why come all the way out to the marshes of the isthmus? Maybe the land was just cheap? And maybe that's because the sellers knew it were cursed. It was a shock to everyone in the hamlet when De Bruer himself was found dead outside his own tavern. This time it was clear foul play were afoot! Well, the village elders got together and decided something had to be done. Any one of them could be next! So they sent someone off to the city to get the guard in. If only they'd acted sooner, more lives might've been saved...

Lovely façade! I really like that it's on an "off angle"! -

Looks good! Interesting tree techniques and nice wall textures and colouring! -
Looks good! Lovely sails! Simple hard-paper? Yet it looks really neat and fitting!

What a cute little boat! Lovely hull technique!

What you can do, is to just go to the website from Discord ( https://discord.com/ ) Log-in there, and at the bottom of your "server list" (the circles on the left), there should be a large green + icon, if you click on that, just add the server code ( AKPnSrUB ) and it should add you to the server too! This way, you don't use the invite link directly, as a server code is essentially just the last letters/numbers after the direct discord invite. But instead you're going via discord itself, meaning you don't need to a "direct invite link". Either way, if that doesn't work, you'll probably want to try a different browser. ^^

[SR-FB Sep 622] Dr Thaum's finest special
Thomas Waagenaar replied to Professor Thaum's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Looking lovely! It being diagonal adds another nice layer, and the loose studs help sell the ground-bedding better than normal placed bricks would! -

Impressive looking ship! However do you have some bigger pictures? Or a link to the Flickr album? All the fine details have gone lost in the tiny pictures :( -

It seems very quiet from the leadership side... Sadly... (Although I'd like to be proven wrong) -
I have to admit, I just LOVE how much better it looks in bricks compared to digital! The colours are coming to their true right this way! And the added little details with the ropes etc! Looking forward to seeing her done!

To add to this, I personally am a big fan of "crossposting with a story". For example in the normal Pirates forum you would just post the build as-is. Simple overview pictures and description etc. But in the BOBS forum you could add a story to it, minifigure placement, details specific to your BOBS story and sigfig etc etc! And then just put a link in the other topic to the other one so people can click both from the other! ^^

Woah, this looks amazing! I love the subtle grid-offset and the colours are really good too! And then there's the foliage that is the cherry on top! And do I spot a little Chameleon there too?

The Monty Python reference is what ultimately got me! 😂 I love it!
