LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
THELEGOBATMAN replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yeah, the set looks great. Exactly what I expected from it. Surprised we've never got a playset based on literally the first scene of the whole franchise until now. -

I like the buildable T. Rex from the diorama so much more than the moulded one. -

Why does everyone want big moulded pieces? Like I honestly don't get it. It's LEGO, everything should be brickbuilt. If you want a big moulded dragon go buy a Hasbro or any other toy that's out there. -

Really glad to see Sora finally got a new hair mould (weird that it's included in the March wave, but not the January one tho). Riyu doesn't look good tho, at least from this angle. -

They talk about him a few times, and Nya is visibly sad that he's lost. He makes a small appearance, but doesn't interact with any of the other Ninja. The annoying thing is that every single Ninja except for him has joined the team. Even Cole, who they were setting up as a single-episode appearance, came back and rejoined the team. It's just weird seeing all the other Ninja together without Jay, and I have no idea why the creators have made that decision. Either include all the original Ninja, or only some of them. Excluding a single one feels weird. -

We are, but I wonder when he'll have a bigger role in the series. I'd be fine if they stopped using some of the Ninja for a while, and only came back to them in certain seasons, but it's kinda ridiculous that everyone is together wearing matching suits, and then there's Jay. -
Well... at least it's not three Mobiles with Man and Jonkler... I guess all sets are dependent on which versions of minifigures are included. The mech was expected, but it could be nice if they include a desirable Batman variant. Same goes for the Batcave — if we get new variants for those characters (particularly BTAS ones), it could be a great set. The Batpod with a buildable Batman... uhh, okay? I don't really care. The Batmobile sounds like easily the best set. It's based on BTAS, so minifigures will definitely be great — unless they use the BTAS Batmobile with random variants of characters, which would be outrageous. It's severly overpriced tho...

Imagine if the 200€ 18+ Marvel D2C is Hulk's hands. I'd die out of laughter. -

This theme isn't going anywhere anytime soon I guess. -
Never thought I'd be so happy to hear we're getting a new Batcave. This wave, for a Batman theme, sounds pretty solid. At least it's not three Batmobiles with Batman and Joker. The Batcave is the one I'm definitely anticipating the most. The number of pieces for the price is surprisingly good, and it's also fairly cheap, I think the cheapest Batcave yet. Hope we get more villains than Joker, Harley and Freeze tho. Poison Ivy and Bane would be really welcome imo (provided they obviously won't include any new ones, like Mad Hatter).

LEGO Ninjago 2024 Rumours and Discussion
THELEGOBATMAN replied to THELEGOBATMAN's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I'm fine with their suits being different, but I don't like the fact that they are completely different, and that they stayed the same after the first season. For example — if OG Ninja get armoured suits for mechs, Sora and Arin should have armour (even if only minor) on their outfits too (so no hoodie Arin with a weird golden mask). If OG Ninja get tournament suits with face masks and no sleeves, Sora and Arin should also have those (but their actual design can be completely different and not follow the OG Ninja template). And so on. I want them to follow the basic principle with which the specific suits are designed, but not the actual suit template. It was done well in Season 1 — they had the same shoulder piece, but with customised hoods and completely different suit design. -

Yeah, it's been a while since we've gotten a new shoulder pad piece. Right now they've limited themselves to the ZX one and the SotFS one. I wish they've tried something new in terms of those. Maybe swap it to the other shoulder, make it slightly thicker, smaller and more rectangular? -

Yeah, that makes sense. (Not that much in the context of the set I guess, unless they wear them for other activities than climbing, but it's good that all Ninja will appear in those suits.) I wonder if Sora and Arin will get new suits this year. Their original outfits will quickly get old, so I really hope they will start getting robes similar to the ones of the other Ninja. -

Huh, that's interesting. Wonder how the suits will be distributed throughout the year. We have three types of suits this year — mech, climber and tournament (plus Arin and Sora's random suits). Mech suits are probably meant only for the January wave. Climber suits will probably stay exclusive to only a handful of sets — 4+ Kai's Source Dragon, Kai's Climbing Mech, and it was mentioned that Cole has it in Arin's Buggy. Maybe the Dragonstone Temple, since the Ninja would have to climb it? Tournament suits will probably be the only suits in the June wave, and make an earlier appearance in some March sets, like the Shadow Dojo. -

Yeah, my hopes are based purely on the fact that for some reason they chose to include a S1 Ninja right after a S2 minifigure. I don't think it has ever happened in a Ninjago magazine, so they might as well give us all the other Ninja. -

Really inetresting how we're getting two buildable Simbas on the same day. Since I don't care much for a 130€ one, I'm really glad we're getting a 20€ alternative. -

That's weird, switching to an older season right after including a minifigure from a new one. Well, I hope the next ones are Nya and Cole, just for the sake of completing the S1 Ninja (and also because those are the only ones I don't have, which is annoying ). -
You clearly didn't understand me. This theme currently is LEGO Batman. Not LEGO DC – LEGO Batman. Compared to what we've gotten in the past (like TLBM sets), the sets we're getting now and repetitive and lacklustre. What I meant by the other half of my comment is that the theme would become fresh and interesting again if they expanded to DC characters who aren't Batman and Joker. They will never make better Batman sets than TLBM ones, so using various DC characters will solve that problem, as they won't have to be better than those sets, because they will be different enough. Okay, but like... you listed six Batmobiles, two Batwings and a Batcave. Those are literally the only things we're getting out of this theme. Not only did LEGO DC suddenly become LEGO Batman, but they are using only two vehicles and five characters from the vast lore of this character.
-
You'd be surprised. It's hard being a fan of a character that reached it's LEGO-peak in 2017 and will never reach it again. TLBM was something truly incredible, and compared to what it gave us, right now we're getting barely any scraps. If LEGO chose to expand to DC as a whole, that would be something different. The fact that we haven't gotten Superman, the most iconic superhero ever, in a set for over six years speaks for itself.

Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

It has nothing to do with it being the biggest movie or the year, or not being a FOX movie anymore. It's an R-rated movie. LEGO won't touch it. The end. -
LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
THELEGOBATMAN replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I always wait a bit to get reduced prices (at start they are 20% off, but after while they go to 40–50%). It's mostly that I don't want a set like this tho. If not for Cal Kestis, I wouldn't even consider for a second buying a Star Wars set like this. If it was fairly cheap, sure. But it's a big set I'm not in need of. I'd rather get a big Ninjago set, or just leave the money for other sets I'm planning on buying.
