LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
THELEGOBATMAN replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I don't think it's a that simply because it's not an 18+ set, and a conference room would be the most boring set possible for kids. What play functions would it even have? Debate about destroying planets with your LEGO® Darth Vader and Imperial Officer minifigures! -

Do you guys think that the May Pixar set is based on Inside Out? It would certainly make a lot of sense business-wise, since the sequel is coming out a month after that. -

Wow, Fives is ridiculously well detailed. Fantastic minifigure. -

So according to @Falconfan1414 75394, the 80€ Cal Kestis set includes Darth Vader and an additional 5–6 minifigures. That set is really intriguing. I wonder whether all of them are the crew and it's a fully Imperial set, or if it includes characters like Luke and Kenobi. -

I don't think so. I'll say this — as far as we're concerned, the minifigures for this set (apart from Cal) are unknown. We'll have to wait to hear something from official sources or a reliable leaker. -

These seem too weird to not be real. That rumour was fake. It is a Death Star set with Cal Kestis, but the price and minifigures from that rumour were wrong. 75394 is 80€, as per previous price leaks. -

Okay but funnily enough, both sound fantastic and like a breath of fresh air for this theme. The second one would be a Day One buy for me. -

The Death Star is only 80€, so probably either a playset based on A New Hope shenanigans, or a micrsocale model (but according to the rumours it's a playset). -

Am I the only one to think this is genuinely one of the best Star Wars wave ever? We've never seen a wave as insane and ridiculous as this one for a licensed theme. Just the sheer audacity to try something like this makes me already love it. Don't care about Ahsoka, but it's incredible they threw all the requested minifigures in a 40–50€ set. The Dark Millennium Falcon will definitely be one of the strangest LEGO sets ever made, and I'm here for it. The Sarlacc Pit is severly overpriced, but it suggests that Jabba's Sail Barge is the Fall UCS set. The X-Wing and TIE Fighter set wouldn't be interesting if not for the combining feature. It sounds ridiculous, I love it. Finally a new Sith Infiltrator. Love that ship. Jedi Bob's Starfighter is right there with the Dark Millennium Falcon — a set so weird and out of place that you just have to love it. Day One purchase. And a cherry on top — LEGO CAL KESTIS! Finally, my wishes have been fulfilled. Would've preferred an actual set based on one of the video games, but I'll take what I can get. -

Nope, gotta wait until Season 2 of Dragons Rising. -
Yeah, could be another Jurassic World case (although I'm fairly sure it won't stay as a yearly theme afterwards).
-
Well, guess this might be the end. Contrary to prior rumours, no Avatar sets this year. The set numbers have been replaced by Despicable Me 4 set line. FalconFan said on Instagram that this is probably the end for this theme.

I really hope that all the sets are based on The Animated Series. FourStud (CM4Sci) has made a small line of sets based on that, and this is something withing LEGO's range — Batman, Batvehicle, Joker, and some additions. https://www.instagram.com/p/CpkvPZdOS58/?igsh=MzY1NDJmNzMyNQ== -

I don't think some people understand the issue here. It's not whether they stand with Israel or Palestine — it's about whether they choose a stand at all. Being associated with an ongoing conflict is not something corporations seek. Look how it ended for Spyglass with Scream VII — they fired a single actress after she made a post on Instagram accusing one side of the conflict of genocide, and the whole movie (and possibly franchise) has collapsed for years, if not much more than that. Have you seen the comments about Sabra being in the movie even before the ongoing conflict has started? Just look here, I genuinely can't find a single positive comment: So even if Disney makes a ridiculous decision of leaving her in the movie (which would backfire at them heavily), LEGO won't include her in the set. -

Stitch looks fantastic. Not what I expected (in terms of accessories), but it's extremely well-built. Buildable figures are usually cursed, so it's relieving to see that this one's not, as it's the first one I'm actually interested in. Bummer that it doesn't include Lilo tho. Four LEGO Stitches, and not a single Lilo minifigure. -

Soviet Union has been gone for over thirty years. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is happening right now. That can't be particularly hard to comprehend, can it? One is history, the other is fully relevant. Obviously big corporations like Disney will do anything to not be associated with it. -

Is he tho? We already got a LEGO Red Hulk, but not LEGO The Leader. Still, it's a really cool inclusion imo. I suspect that Disney might fully remove her from the movie. The reshoots for this movie are not a joke. They hired new screenwriters, and pushed it back a considerable amount of time. -

I have to admit that the Hat is really well built. Surprised how similar it is to the survey leak – the only easily noticeable changes are the way the eyebrows and the stand are built. -

Maybe, but he's much sleeker than them. He does not look like a bulky bigifig. Demogorgon legs would've made him much better imo. -

This version of Lizard absolutely does not need to be a bigfig. He's barely any bigger than the other characters. -

Overall, I like this wave for how much variety it has. Mechs, random Spider-Man sets, X-Men, buildable figures, recent MCU, The Infinity Saga. All the sets are good. The quality is more or less the same for each set. There is no clear standout imo. Saying that, each set has at least a single big problem. Venom mech has better value than the War Machine one (thanks to Spider-Man), but it's a worse build. The grey does not look good. War Machine one looks much better, but it's not worth the price. The motorcycle is a really cute 10€ set, but Doc Ock looks really bad. His arms should've been Venomized, and the whole design looks really lacklustre. The race car sucks, but at least Green Goblin looks better than Doc Ock. Still, I don't like the halfway-through design. The buildable figure is really well built, but the head makes Rocket look like an actual wild raccoon figure instead of a Marvel character. Rocket's Warbird is good. Don't really have much to say about it. Two minifigures in a 40€ set isn't good tho. Would've benefited from another Guardian, preferably buildable adult Groot. I've already covered the No Way Home expansion set, and my thoughts haven't changed. Should've been either a fully standalone set, or an actual expansion. The X-Men Jet looks awesome, but the minifigures are poorly done. Not to mention the horrific price they're charging for it.
