LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
THELEGOBATMAN replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
As much as I have wanted to get a LEGO Cal Kestis minifigure, this set is probably going to cost 160–200€, so unfortunately there's no way I'm getting it with so many amazing sets coming from other themes I prefer. -

I still have no idea which Winter sets I'm getting. Really need to see the March ones, as it'll either be: Egalt, Jay's Mech and Riyu OR Dragonstone Temple OR Shadow Dojo (plus a Dragon Strike gimmick, depends which one tho on the set(s) I choose). -

Updates for March sets: In addition to Arin and a Wolf Mask Warrior, the Baby Riyu set also comes with Sora. Arin's Buggy includes Cinder instead of Jordana. Dragonstone Temple doesn't include Garmadon, but we get Euphrasia (new Master of Wind) and Lord Ras. -

Interesting to see that we're suddenly getting two Simba sets in June — 43243 with 222 pieces, and 43247 with 1445 pieces. The first one is not a BrickHead, since it would have a different set number. -

Both themes are getting a big D2C this year, so could be either way. -

Really glad to see another Ninjago D2C based on a specific season. Ninjago City expansions are fantastic, but it's a good idea to give us something completely different from time to time. Looks like this year will be fantastic for bigger location builds — Shadow Dojo, Dragonstone Temple, Tournament Arena Battle, and Tournament Temple City. Interested to learn what that Tournament is — three Summer sets reference it. -

Because apparently it includes only two minifigures, and the interior is basically non-existent. Imagine getting Jabba's Sail Barge without... Jabba? We don't know the details, but it doesn't sound particularly optimistic. -

That would be extremely disappointing. How would cubes even be appealing to anyone? -

I could see adult Groot using those, but Ultron? Absolutely not. They don't make the minifigure bigger, only higher. Sokovia Ultron wasn't much bigger than a human, and he definitely was not slim. -

I see all those set names and... I feel nothing. I think I completely lost interest in this theme. Most of the sets look great, and the design team does a really good job, but there's only so much you can do with a theme based on eight movies that came out years ago. -

The name of the set is really weird. Probably most of it was lost in translation, but I wonder what type of set it will be. Hope it includes minifigures tho. -
76270 (15€), 76271 (300€), 76272 (40€), 76273 (70€), and 76274 (60€). 76271 is the Gotham City Skyline D2C. It's based on Batman: The Animated Series. We know very little about the rest of the wave. A Batmobile based on BTAS is rumoured. 76272 is rumoured to be a 4+ Batwing. Truth be told, we don't know if anything besides the D2C is based on The Animated Series.

They are, but I think they meant the franchise as a whole, not the particular movies releasing this year. -

If they are making a Thor: Ragnarok set, I really hope they'll make a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 one to finally give us an Ego minifigure. -

I hope that the D2C is fully based on Dragons Rising — either the Crossroads or the Monastery. We just got a new Ninjago City expansion last year, so I don't think we're getting another one this soon. -

LEGO has been really great at keeping leaks at bay the past two years. If they decide not to reveal the sets, it could even be a whole month before we see them. Dream scenario? We get his lightsaber with a longer hilt, two blue bars, and BD-1. Realistic scenario? Regular blue lighstaber and maybe BD-1. -

Honestly, this wave sounds fantastic. So much potential! Great to see a LEGO Age of Ultron renaissance. The Battle Pack doesn't sound exciting imo, but the final battle set could be absolutely incredible if done well. Milano is a huge win, if it will be as detailed as the 2021 Benatar then we are in for a treat. Avengers battle also sounds great. Good to see more sets from the original movie. Potted Groot sounds cute and actually interesting unlike most buildable stuff. Surtur set is a dream. Ragnarok is still one of the best MCU movies, and I was really counting on a new set from it. I hope it's based on the final battle and not the opening tho, much more potential minifig-wise. -

They did a really weird thing with waves this year. They are so unevenly spread. Winter gets 16 sets (11 sets in January and 5 sets in March), while Summer gets only 6 (all sets in June). Wonder why they did that. Perhaps the fact that all three waves are rumoured to be based on a single season doesn't help and they can only do so much with it. -

Obviously I'm not talking about the minifigure as a whole, because it's fantastic. I mean strictly the waist cape, which the printing barely resembles. -

I can't understand why LEGO stopped using cloth for waists. A lot of minifigures desperately need them. Since they don't do a lot of dual-moulding, having a waist cape printed only on the front will always look absolutely awful. -

Okay, just to be clear — greekbricks_ is not a reliable source. He just reposts leaks from other people, and has no sources of his own. As people have pointed out, he did post fake leaks before. The only thing we know about the Cal Kestis set is the fact that it's an 80€ Death Star playset. That's it. Could it be a conference room without a single named officer? Yeah, but we'll have to wait for someone reliable to confirm it.
