Ugh...you have a fair point, and I’ll take it into consideration.
-
Oh snap, you’re right ? Well, first of all I wasn’t trying to deceive you all. I really did change my mind, mostly because I need something to help me stay calm during the US Presidential election. So I’ll be building it on November 3/4. Also, just as a Lego set, it’s a marvelous feat of architecture, brimming with beautiful details, so I’m going to try to appreciate it on its own, rather than waiting for inevitable expand sets to be released.

Future Harry Potter Set Ideas/Speculation
RogueTwo replied to 2lazeetomakeaname's topic in LEGO Licensed
I agree that would be possible, but also extremely expensive, and personally I'm burned out on enormous D2C sets. I'd prefer the essential minibuilds of Grimmauld Place as an advent calendar: Six minifigures... 1. Harry Potter 2. Ron Weasley 3. Hermione Granger 4. Kreacher 5. Sirius Black 6. Mundungus Fletcher ...and then minibuilds including tables, beds, and the Black Family Tree with a lot of printed tiles. -
Why are you disappointed? At least it's on the way! Mine is still in warehouse, but to be fair, I ordered it on September 2, so I may have to wait a few more days for it to ship.

LEGO Star Wars 2020 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

Ah, thanks. This set also gives me hope that we will eventually get a massive Yavin IV playset (which I would have greatly preferred to a Cantina, but oh well). Can’t wait to see what 2021 has in store...in terms of Lego, I mean. -

Do people think that this Han Solo will have the dual-molded legs in dark blue? Still hoping for dual-molded 3PO and back-printed R2, as well -
I actually didn’t end up ordering Diagon Alley. As beautiful and awe-inspiring as the set is, I can’t justify $400 in the middle of the year for: -No Gringotts or Borgin and Burke’s -Missing essential characters (and only relatively few unique minifigure parts) -Lots of stickers -Missing other shops that are actually part of the Alley -Way out of scale and detail level with my current Hogwarts setup This all makes me slightly sad, but I will probably still get the Advent Calendar.
-
Ordered two Advent Calendars, one for me and one for my girlfriend (I’m a hopeless romantic, so I’m going to slip little notes behind each of the doors of her calendar. She’ll be very surprised when she opens door number one). I also used my VIP points to get the Bespin Duel a few days ago, and it should be arriving today. Finally, I paid an insane amount of money ($45) for the Han Solo figure from 75222, with the poor justification that it will double in price within a year. That figure really should have come with the UCS Falcon
-
Okay, now that I know the leaked Harry figure is actually included, this is a day one purchase. I'll be bracing my wallet and asking myself for forgiveness.
-
Oh, maybe you’re right. It seems almost too weird to make up, though.
-
Rumors are gaining traction for a $40 Monster Book of Monsters set, possibly a gift with purchase. That just doesn’t make sense to me, because then there would be FOUR(!) Harry Potter GWPs this year: -Hedwig Delivery polybag (not rare or exclusive, guaranteed) -Hagrid and Buckbeak Brickheadz (guaranteed) -Wherever the leaked Year One Harry figure is from -Monster Book of Monsters Something just doesn’t add up, but I’m reluctant to order Diagon Alley until I know the situation better (and any hints about Gringotts and Borgin and Burke’s would also be nice).

Back order is still back order. The set exists, it just most likely hasn’t left the factory, or is in a currently inaccessible warehouse. You will get your set eventually. -
Unpopular Opinions related to Lego Star Wars
RogueTwo replied to TheAbsoluteSt81's topic in LEGO Star Wars
1. Hans Burkhard Schlömer designs really fragile sets with poor connections (and the UCS Slave I is terrible) 2. 75218 X-Wing is infinitely better than either UCS version. 3. Jordan Scott is my favorite UCS designer. 4. I’m going to keep going to Firestar Toys if Lego keeps cheaping out on Star Wars figures 5. I DO NOT want to ever see a Star Wars CMF, because I believe blind-bag purchases go against Lego’s philosophy.- 127 replies

Bespin Duel is sold out on Lego.com. It will be very interesting to see if they make more -

Could be, actually, in multiple ways! Maybe not only will the Bespin Duel get a wide release, but now scalpers can't make a profit selling those rare minifigures anymore. I don't really care, the main thing is that I got Cloud City Luke and the new arm-print Vader without paying exorbitant Bricklink or eBay prices. -

I just ordered one using $30 in VIP points, so the price seems pretty good to me. It'll be really interesting to see just how limited the supplies are... -
Just a few questions, sorry if they have already been asked/answered: Is Lucius's leg print new? And is young Ginny's face a reuse of Susan Bones's? Thanks!
-
The “leaker” who rumored it has come under INTENSE scrutiny for offering at least some blatant lies, but I personally still think a surprise Gringotts set is possible.
-
I'd actually like to see Luke's Red Five helmet as one of those 18+ sets, and it doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility, even though the Starbirds and the visor could be difficult to execute convincingly.

I just want the Bespin Duel, and if I stay up until midnight starting Wednesday night, hopefully I can get a copy... The AT-AT and Advent Calendar are both exceptional, but honestly I will probably pass, as I just have no great desire for them. Oh, and I still need to get Luke's Landspeeder before it retires (even though there will probably be a new one released next year). -
Because, knowing LEGO, we aren't?

Harry Potter’s “Diagon Alley” is coming out next week and still hasn’t gotten an official reveal, so I’d say more Mos Eisley leaks might be close, but it’s hard to say when a press release might happen. -
So where is that Year One Harry minifigure coming from? A gift with purchase? A winter/spring set? Any guesses?
-
For what it’s worth, my Target (Chicago suburbs) had them all today, and I was astonished. They usually don’t have anything early, but the CMF is clearly not street-dated. Apparently they’d just put them out ten minutes before I got there! I felt for all 16 (yes, even in the pandemic...) and got them all correct, with the exception of somehow accidentally picking up a second Myrtle instead of Fred...or was it George? The one with the betting box, anyway.

I found all the stickers from The Burrow fairly easy to apply.
