All Gringotts needs is one or two printed pieces for the exterior, and I think that's quite possible but by no means a certainty. Borgin and Burkes is almost certainly not included, which makes me sad, but that would be a far more acceptable exclusion than Gringotts.
-
Um...what? I feel like that's a reference that I'm not getting. Unless it's just a pun on "pick." Either way, it's all good, haha. I thought it said "Galleon" as well.

A few weeks ago there was a special chance for VIPs to ask questions to LEGO designers to celebrate a "magical new set" that we all knew was Diagon Alley. Presumably they've had plenty of time to pick questions and answer them.
-
I'm still hoping for a big reveal event either tomorrow or early next week, and VIP early access next weekend. Yeah, I know, I know, the definition of insanity is "doing the same thing and expecting different results," but to paraphrase Batman, this sticker leak is the news we deserve, not the news we need right now.

I think Gringotts will be a $100 Dragon Escape set next year... No Borgin and Burkes would also be a disappointment... I don't care at all about WWW, but I'm very happy for those who have waited a decade for it. However, my overall impression (to some stickers, lol) is overwhelmingly positive! This set is going to put the UCS Hogwarts to shame!

Brickshop.eu has the CMF listed for August 7, but they only list the individual blind bags, which doesn't do me much good. Any idea whether they usually offer full boxes at a later point?
-
I mean, sure, whatever you want. I guess I don't actually display them behind glass or anything, I just add them to my Hogwarts setup, but if you just have the figures and not the sets, I think you should display them however it makes you the happiest. It's definitely interesting to see how others display their LEGO, but at the end of the day, it's up to you.
-
I just place them in logical places within my sets, and I keep the display stands in a plastic bag. For figures like Azkaban Bellatrix, who don’t belong anywhere, I’ll probably just keep them on their stands on a shelf nearby.

I really hope you’re right. I know it’s pathetic that I don’t want to wait 15 extra days to spend $400, but I was kind of counting on an early VIP release.
-
We could technically still get early access for Diagon Alley if they reveal it as late as the end of next week, but my hope is dwindling fast. And I love your thunderstorm analogy!
-
The funny thing is, a UCS Tom Riddle’s diary, in the style of the the fairy tale pop up book Ideas set (with buildable flashback vignettes inside) would actually be pretty cool.
-
Hmmm...that’s interesting. My instinct says real, but I’m going to say it’s fake, just based on the number of times I’ve been wrong this year.
-
As long as DA is released in September, I really don’t care about leaks anymore. The CMF reveal pretty much has to be this week or next, though.
-
So is there still a chance for a VIP early release of Diagon Alley if it gets revealed this week? Or is that out the window now?
-
Just a heads-up: the Insta seller can’t ship to the US because of COVID. It’s obviously my country’s fault, not his, but it’s a bit of a downer anyway. So, my fellow “Yanks,” don’t try to get the figures that way.
-
Damn, that is actually a ridiculously low number, especially considering that we may well be getting Tom, Lucius, Lockhart, Narcissa, and Borgin in the Diagon Alley set!
-
I really want this theme to go on for as long as it’s good (which I estimate to be five years total at least), but I’m not a fan of Collectible Minifigures, and I hope HP gets one series more (at most) I will still buy them, obviously, because they are amazing, but the blind-buy pouches just feel like a decidedly un-LEGO philosophy to me. It always has, since Series 1 of unlicensed minifigs. Also, I’m really glad WWW is (allegedly) not included. More pitchforks for me, I’m sure, and I’d love to see it as a stand-alone set in a year or two, but my dream set was a “Dickensian” Diagon Alley based on years 1 and 2, and it looks like I might get my wish. ?

I'm still committing the cardinal sin of optimism and hoping for a Diagon Alley leak and/or reveal early next week.
-
I'm going to get a full set somewhere, at some point. You're right, it's kind of shameful to just bombard the poor guy.
-
I just messaged the Insta person about possibly trying to order a set of 16. It's "only" a markup of approximately $45, and who knows how difficult (or safe) it will be to get them come September. EDIT: I think the selections made for this series all but confirm a Series 3, unless the theme somehow fizzles out before then, which I don't see happening.

Well, I’ll be damned... maybe they really wanted to avoid the association with JK Rowling’s birthday? The Lego Group works in mysterious ways.
-
I agree, but that’s pretty much the story of every official Lego reveal.
-
You're so mean! I'm joking, obviously, but come on, my only crime is optimism!
-
I mean, I didn't think about it like that, but that's a completely valid and valuable perspective, thank you.

Thanks.
