  1. i did haha, I remember talking about it to one of my brothers back in 2018 being very excited for all the House Ghosts. Also it's really funny how many of those figures we got this year with Privet Drive and Myrtle, the twins and Harry's parents in the CMF.
  2. If you look at the back of the minifigure checklist sheet where the instructions for constructing the minifigures are there's a picture of one of the twins with a normal smile so they definitely have a normal face option too. Personally I really like their outfits, they're very useful for christmas scenes from the third, fourth or fifth films
  3. Personally I think it would be very limiting for the designers to only take elements of Diagon Alley which are only seen in 1/2 films when the alley appears in five! Personally I expect the set to be mostly focused on stuff from Philosopher's Stone - Prisoner of Azkaban with a lot of book references, and then the Weasley's Wizard Wheezes to be the only inclusion from the later films. Saying that though, Borgin and Burkes could have the sneaking up to the roof element from Half-Blood Prince and I wouldn't be really surprised if there's two versions of the trio included like in the Death Star so you can recreate older and younger scenes.
  4. I don't suppose that picture is on Instagram yet, is it? Also if the designers of the CMF and sets were collaberating like they were in 2018 is there a possibility that pieces introduced in here could also feature in Diagon Alley? Because the leaked Harry minifigure also references Chamber of Secrets I think the book shop with Lockhart could be quite likely, in which case the new Monster Book of Monsters piece would really fit in. At least its another way to get those printed robes, the figures with those robe prints have been some of my favourite figures of the revival! I much prefer another Hogwarts minifigure to those with civilian clothes but each to their own
  5. Oh my god oh my god oh my god! My first thought is that there are a lot of civilian minifigures in this series. Eight (nine if you include Luna) are just in normal Muggle clothing which is a bit of a shame. I love the Fred and George minifigures, their winter hats are very distinctive, but I can easily do without the rest. Also I cannot believe Griphook comes with a properly accurate Sword of Gryffindor! It's amazing how we have specialised pieces now for the Sorting Hat, Fawkes, the Sword and the Pensieve - Dumbledore's Office is going to be well-filled. The only downside I can see of this is that a goblin figure is probably going to be the most sought-after of all the figures and I want to get multiples of him! I really hope we get a clear idea of distribution early on for an idea of which figures are going to be the hardest to find - I feel like there's definitely going to be only 3 each of Fred and George. Also thank god we got the student pack this year or I'd be really moaning about the lack of Hogwarts Students in this CMF! The first one was so amazing for Hogwarts-themed figures that this one definitely seems like a step down - though I guess that means it'll be attractive for City collectors which can only help sales.
  6. I was really young when I started getting Harry Potter sets too! For my sixth birthday I got the 2004 Hagrid's Hut and original Horntail set, then I got a few of the smaller POA sets too (no more Goblet of Fire sets as I found the Graveyard and Mermaid sets too scary!). I was still collecting Harry Potter all the way up to the 2010 revival through Ebay, meaning I ended up with a lot of the older Philosopher Stone and Chamber of Secrets sets. I think collecting Harry Potter from such a young age is part of the reason I've been getting so many of the new sets - ever since 2018 it still feels too good to be true compared to the two periods of my life where there were no more sets being made!
  7. I definitely think some iconic Harry Potter aspects such as Quidditch and the Hogwarts Express could definitely be re-released with different films. The 2010 Hogwarts Express was based around a weird mishmash between the Chamber of Secret's and Half-Blood Prince (thank god for this reboot actually making an effort to differentiate between the years ). Maybe Lego can rerelease the Hogwarts Express in a few years based on Chamber of Secrets so they can include another Ford Anglia! I also wouldn't say no to a damaged Ford Anglia eventually being repackaged as the later damaged version with another Aragog if the theme lasts to the mid 2020s (if we're all still alive by then)
  8. That looks so good! I hadn't actually thought of a build for the troll being like that but it would definitely work! The head could be printed like the X Men Sentinel and the body could be a bit more slender with Mixel ball joints too. What a brilliant build. A Philosopher's Stone set with the exterior of the right hand side of Hogwarts with the Bell Towers opposite from the Great Hall could be a great place for a full-on First Year magical creatures and challenges set, with a Brick-Built Troll, Fluffy, Devil's Snare, Chess and the Confrontation with Quirrel. To pad out the figures it could even include a green space with Oliver Wood for Harry's first Quidditch training. The reason I thought of this part of Hogwarts too is that it's really long in between the towers, which could fit the Corridor leading to Fluffy with the challenges underneath. Also it would fit right behind the gatehouse section of the castle included in The Astronomy Tower.
  9. Does anyone with experience of the Minifigure accessory packs from other themes know how long we can expect the Hogwarts Students Pack to stay in stock for? I’m only planning on getting two or three copies and I don’t really want to spend the shipping price on just that. I was thinking of getting the Room of Requirement set at the same time because it’s so cheap anyway but ideally I’d wait until August/September when more sets are out - the minifigure series will be out by then and if there’s still a level of social distancing I’ll probsbly just buy 10ish bags directly from Lego and cross my fingers I don’t get doubles of characters like Harry and Luna. but my biggest fear is missing my chance to get Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin minifigures so cheaply so it’d be a reassurance to know if the set is likely to still be in stock in 3 months time.
  10. Couldn’t we potentially get Pygmy puffs through Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes if they’re not a new mould but a printed piece like the Mandrakes? Im still holding out hope for a new Werewolf Lupin and Padfoot! A CMF figure would be perfect because of the level of detail but maybe Lego think a werewolf minifigure wouldn’t be recognisable enough? Maybe an eventual shrieking shack could have a transformation like The Rise of Voldemort for both Lupin and Wormtail? Also I’d love a printed Time-Turner stud so other characters could use it
  11. Ha that’s brilliant, I’m exactly the same! The only reason I justified buying the Astronomy Tower was as a reward for finishing my degree (tho I’ll have to wait a while for my grades )
  12. The Grawp’s back looks fine, after seeing the comments I was expecting unfitting colours or something but it’s just anti-studs. Obviously not good for displaying from the back but I wouldn’t hesitate to show him off from the side also Kingnono has finally posted on Instagram saying absolutely nothing of substance, just that hes “still on track”. I’ve already commented asking about the advant calendar but don’t think he deserves any more attention from this forum
  13. Yeah hopefully with Fantastic Beasts keeping the franchise relevant (it is what led to us getting sets in the first place) and the continued popularity of the theme it's got a few more years in the tank yet. It makes me really glad there's only 1 wave a year so they can space it out and keep it going for longer!
  14. The thing is the Advent Calendar last year contained characters which all fit into Hogwarts, which OOTP characters like Sirius would not. Also judging by the front of the box all the accessories seem to be Yule Ball related too, it's not like the Star Wars calendars where there's loads of stuff from all the different films.
  15. Wow a Yule Ball Advent Calendar is definitely unexpected! I haven't got the Clocktower yet and though I'm planning to at some point none of the figures from that set really interest me apart from Madame Maxine so this will probably be a pass from me. What I am intrigued by though is seeing which characters are included. The Triwizard Champions will probably stay exclusive but I think Ron, Harry, Hermione and the Patil twins are very likely. But if both Parvati and Padma are included maybe Krum will be too so all three of the trio have a dance partner? Alternatively I think Yule Ball versions of Dumbledore, Neville and Ginny are also possible.
  16. Those Amazon titles are hilarious, very snappy! On a serious note those inflated prices are really weird, what a specific glitch.
  17. Yeah that's fair enough, especially for Parasaurolophus as its got such a different body shape anyway. I think maybe Lego could use it for the Allosaurus though. What got me thinking about that piece was its similarity to the mockups of lego mid-size dinos a user on these forums did a few years back
  18. Isn't that just the body Lego have used for the Indoraptor and Baryonyx? Ignoring the spikes I think that would work.
  19. I think we'll get two minifigures for Harry (one from PS and one from HBP) and then just the HPB variants of Ron and Hermione. Unless Lego wants to recreate the scene from COS at Flourish and Blotts I'd say they wouldn't include the other Chamber of Secrets versions of the characters.
  20. I’ve just been looking through the speed build of the Astronomy Tower and the print on the Mandrakes is actually different to the one in the CMF series! They’re the same piece and both have arms printed on but the one in the set has a wide open screaming mouth whereas judging by the pic of the one with sprout it’s mouth is much thinner in a line. Which means we’ll have 3 unique Mandrake looks! I can’t attatch my screenshot from the video here because of the file size but you can see the Mandrakes at around the 1:50 mark (I had to play it at 0.25 of the speed and pause it to see one of the pieces clearly)
  21. Wow, a whole week early as well! Thanks for bringing that up, I'll definitely check it out Edit: found a video on Youtube. The figures look a lot better here than they do in the rendered pictures
  22. Thanks, I’m really excited too! I’ve been obsessively going over the dimensions and connection points of the Astronomy Tower so I can connect it with my other castle parts as soon as I get it
  23. Snape wasn’t just grey, he was glow in the dark too! The only figure like that was Voldemort in the original graveyard set. Must have really confused kids when they got to know the story better and found out Snape was one of the good guys instead of a ghoul! also couldn’t you have used the Death Eater as a manikin in the Room of Requirement part of the castle? I think its even described as a manakin in the 2010 visual dictionary.
  24. I agree, I think there definitely has to be at least two Harry minifigures to fit with all the scenes; a Harry with short legs to fit in with Gringotts, Ollivanders, the Leaky Cauldron and *maybe* Flourish and Blotts (tho apart from Lucius' and Lockhart's possible inclusion I don't think that's as likely to appear) and then a 2020 Harry alongside the other HBP-aged figures for Weasley's Wizard Wheezes and Borgin and Burkes. So a large part of the minifigure selection could emphasise Half-Blood-Price as that's more fitting with this year's wave but the builds could equally represent the films.
  25. That's an interesting list, it's certainly given me some thoughts. One thing that is a bit of a head-scratcher for me is that because the Lego sets are so specific nowadays with the different character age groups and how they are represented as figures I'm not sure how many films they can draw from in one set - although it happened in the CMF I can't imagine getting two versions of Harry in the same set. But then the designers would either have to pick between when the minifigures look the same, such as either choosing the first two films or Half Blood Prince or Deathly Hallows when they will likely pick both for the definitive version of Diagon Alley. So I'm just going to break down the characters by each film to try and wrap my head around this: Philosopher's Stone: Harry Hagrid Tom the Innkeeper Quirrell Goblin Griphook (Philosopher's Stone version) Ollivander Chamber of Secrets Harry Hagrid Ron Hermione Mr Weasley Mrs Weasley Ginny Lucius Draco Lockhart So just going by these two films where all the characters are the same age you could get 15 different characters just there, and with accompanying buildings there could be recreations of the scenes at the Leaky Cauldron, Gringotts, Ollivanders, Borgin and Burkes and Flourish and Blotts (which is definitely not very likely to turn up). Also thinking about it I don't think many Prisoner of Azkaban features would turn up, except maybe some small built-in references in the Leaky Cauldron like maybe a bedroom, a wanted poster and the Monster Book of Monsters. But then based on Half-Blood Prince you've got: Harry Ron Hermione Ginny Fred George Draco Narcissa Malfoy (not very prominently tbf) Fenrir Greyback Masked Death Eaters (for the initiation and Ollivander's abduction) Bagged Ollivander And then Deathly Hallows as well, which is centred mostly on Gringotts. Honestly looking at how the biggest selection of characters and locales is in the 1st, 2nd and 6th films I feel like the events at Flourish and Blotts offer the least amount of playability, so then by putting the characters from the 1st and 6th films together the only crossover is Harry. Maybe we could see two generations of Harry minifigures in the same set. I'm really considering this now because otherwise in omitting him Lego are removing lots of chances to recreate scenes from the films with just the figures from the sets. Also there's a large part of me that thinks Lego won't miss the opportunity to have the figures of the characters from HBP, the same age as the ones in this year's sets, exploring Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. Also just a disclaimer that the selections I've examined are very much based on my biases for what I'm expecting for the set, and not an exhaustive list.
