Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Darth Shadowthrone replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
That could be quite a fun set: the tent, a tree, some kind of build to represent the lake, the doe patronus and then 4/5 figures: Harry, Ron, Hermione, Greyback and the main Snatcher with the eye liner. There could even be some sort of shadow exploding element for when the Locket gets destroyed. Personally if there is a small DH set I'm holding out for a Hagrid's motorbike build with 2 masked Death Eaters on brooms, even though I've got no idea what a good sidebuild could be for a set like that -
I really like the Werewolf but I really hope there's some way of still identifying collectable minifigures if they are in boxes, even if there's just a set pattern to look for (I remember hearing that there were apparently 3 complete sets in a box for Series 21). If there's seriously no way of identifying particular minifigures then I'll probably only buy series I wouldn't mind getting any figure of, which would probably limit by CMF spending to just licensed series like Harry Potter, Disney and Marvel.

Fluffy is definitely the part of the wave in most looking forward to! also I definitely think there’ll be a golden dumbledore figure included somewhere, even if this smaller wave sounds very self-contained so far -

I really hope the Basilisk has a moulded head this time! I’ve really liked Lego brick-built creatures in recent years like the Ninjago dragons and the fantastic beasts from the suitcase but in my opinion the ones with moulded heads are preferable to brick-built heads -

Thanks for the head's up, I had a google for the UK and saw that it's half-price at a few places in the UK too (Argos and Selfridges from what I could see) -
Reading Light of the Jedi and I second everything said above, the vehicle designs seem really cool so far! I definitely think the series is off to a strong start in terms of fan reception and I wouldn't be surprised if Lucasfilm quickly put out some form of visual media like Forces of Destiny or the other Youtube shorts to tie-in with the books as some sort of teaser. I think short videos like that would definitely help advertise the Children's / YA books too like Into the Dark and that would at least give Lego a more solid blueprint to base ship designs on. And honestly the Jedi designs are so cool and marketable already that I think if Lego can make sets based on a Star Wars theme park attraction then a popular new era of stories shouldn't be out of the question. As long as we finally get a Yarael Poof figure

LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

I actually really hope the Knights of Ren helmets are re-used once the TROS sets start going out of stock as it would be silly for Lego to not recoup the costs of the new moulds and include the Knights in another set. They did the same for with the Praetorians in a battlepack so it seems obvious that a Knight of Ren battlepack would make similar financial sense. One thing I expect we could see eventually if there is a lull in new Star War content is a big themed wave focusing on all the Sequel Trilogy films with slightly-updated character designs and repackaging of any sets that sold well the first time, like their 'greatest hits' they occasionally do with the other trilogies -

I've thought about how Griphook could fit too but I expect Lego will do for him exactly what they did for Dobby and just give him a new face-print, with a serious face and an alternate face with an even bigger grin than the CMF variant. Also you raise a good point about introducing new moulds in CMF series, I expect they will put the new Goblin hair mould to good use. One thing I am looking forward to is seeing some recolours of Griphooks piece for other goblins, with the same ears but white, black or orange hair if we ending up getting 3-4 goblins included (which shouldn't be outside the realms of possibility!) -

I definitely think because Lego have seemed to save Gringotts for this year that was a deliberate choice to tie it into a Deathly Hallows wave. Also because the visual of the dragon on top of the main building is very iconic thanks to the Harry Potter parks I am pretty sure there will be just one set, with maybe the vaults hidden from the outside on the ground floor and the atrium on the first floor. -
Castle definitely needs more sets, I remember being desperate for it when Nexo Knights was still a mystery and that was years ago! I'm definitely prepared to strategically vote in the second round for whichever Castle theme seems to be doing the best

Just seen the Ideas Contest! I voted for Wolfpack, Forestmen and the Dragon Knights

I bet the box art of the set is going to have the Stormtroopers inside the ITT to show its a troop transport while Greef Karga is outside shooting at the vehicle with his tiny pistols -

If this CMF is actually based on the MCU (which I think I would actually prefer having thought about it) hopefully that could mean we could finally get Homecoming's home-made Spider-Man suit. Also if there was a choice which Endgame Thor would you guys prefer: Fat Thor or the final battle Thor with the braided beard? -

Oh wow, I just realised that the Mandalorian Throne Room set will be the first Clone Wars playset! It's an annoying pattern I picked up years ago but I never thought they would make a set based on a building or landscape instead of a vehicle! -

I quite liked the idea of a Durmstrang ship set combined with the Second Task, you could get loads of interesting figures that way -

That set looks quite neat, I'll probably get it just to have the main Mando to fit with the Battle Pack. Does anyone know what piece Baby Yoda fits inside? -

Those £100+ Sets are really intriguing! If this is true Lego must be very sure of the adult audience for the theme, which is unsurprising given the series is twenty years old now! I can’t help but feel like it’s too soon for Hogsmede considering we just got Diagon Alley though a Prisoner of Azkaban set with another Whomping Willow, the Shrieking Shack, Honeydukes and the Theee Broomsticks would be amazing In order of likelihood I think the larger sets could be: 1: a Diagon Alley expansion 2: a big Battle of Hogwarts set 3: a UCS miniature Hogwarts expansion with the Clock and Astronomy Towers 4 Hogsmede 5 Just a giant Gringotts Set (no other DA buildings) 6 Durmstrang ship -

It seems to me based on the leaked catalogue that the jungle dragon has a moulded head instead of a brick-built head. Anyone know if that is how it’s going to be? also if the jungle dragon has a moulded head does that also mean it’s likely the Legacy Overlords Dragon’s head is moulded rather than brick-built? -

There's been some great pictures on Instagram of the different segments in isolation and it's amazing how they all look so good just on their own! Each of the 4 bits really does have its own distinctive architecture and colour scheme that does mean they can be displayed separately imo -

Washing Lego is definitely relevant to Harry Potter for me, I really need to wash some of my dusty 2010 Harry Potter sets! This site has some good advice https://thatbricklife.com/how-to-clean-and-sanitize-lego/ -

Thanks, that's a really good indicator! In terms of scale I've been having a bit of a play around with my own pieces to try and improvise some more shops and one building I'd like to try and make is a small Leaky Cauldron about the size of the smaller shops like Ollivander's and Scribbulus. My idea is that eventually I'd have the Diagon Alley shops in a normal line with the Leaky Cauldron facing sideways at one end with the Knight Bus. But I'll have to see if I've even got enough pieces to make building that looks as good as the official shops! -

Has anyone got both the Diagon Alley set and Knight Bus together? I was looking at the bus earlier and wondered how it would compare in scale next to the shops. -

Looking at the Disney books I think they will be the same pieces but I was actually expecting the books to be really bright colours for each house: bright blue, red, yellow, green. Maybe there will be a grey plate over it for where the classroom builds are so there isn't too much suspension of disbelief needed -

I don't really see these as a proper 'next wave' as they seem more like a bonus line of sets in addition to the proper main wave in the summer where we'll get Deathly Hallows sets and Gringotts. As we've never got winter sets in this revival theme it makes sense to me that Lego would do something different instead of overinflating the theme with two full waves of sets from the films. More gimmicky sets like these will pad out the theme and add to its longevity. Personally although some classroom pieces and features sound really useful for filling up my Hogwarts there's only thing really exciting to me about this and that's FLITWICK!! I'd given up hope on getting his original look from Philosopher's Stone so I'll at least get that classroom set to fully recreate the 'swish and flick' scene. -

Wow that's a lot smaller than I was expecting but it makes sense. I wonder if the house will be downs-caled a bit original design or if there will just be less rooms
