  1. On the bright side at least the Ravenclaw figure isn't another Luna . I do get your point but considering how the CMF series was created when they probably weren't looking so far forward in terms of what sets and minifigures were going to be included I'm not surprised there's overlaps. To me it speaks to how lucky we are with such an expansive theme that there can be repeats and figures crossing over on each other like this, but that might be a bit too optimistic!
  2. That would be great, especially for recreating scenes on the Hogwarts Express and the boats over the lake! I was sure such a torso would be included in the Build Your Own Adventure book with the Sorting Hat from last year but they just reused the Gryffindor one. I think it's definitely meant to be Cho as in the films Padma Patil was in Gryffindor and the Lego sets do seem to take much more inspiration for characters from the movies than the books. However, they'll have two (or potentially more when I get multiples of this set) I'll definitely use her face for the Patil twins and create other Ravenclaw figures instead.
  3. Yes yes yes! I'm so glad this set actually turned out to be a thing. All I was really hoping for with this was the jumpers and it comes with the jumpers so I'm now definitely going to go out of my way to get a few copies of this, at least two as soon as it comes out! I'm actually going to have some properly uniformed Hufflepuffs! The more I think about the opportunities of this set the happier it makes me.
  4. That sounds reasonably likely but I can't help but feel that there's too much of a crossover there with the Burrow having two of its exclusive characters in a much smaller set two months later. Personally I think the likeliest selection is Harry, Ron, Hermione, Fred & George and Sirius. I would replace Fred and George for Ginny and Arthur because although they were exclusive to the last D2C as well I doubt their inclusion in a set (with different outfits) will take away much of the appeal of Diagon Alley and they would fit the Grimmauld Place Christmas scene. Yeah the cmf was ridiculously popular here in the UK, I swear I've never seen a series go by so fast. A few months after their release there was no sign of them in any WHSmith and I felt really lucky that I managed to find a box tucked away in the corner of a Waterstones, which still had a Graves minifigure inside! I think I also got my Dumbledore and Trelawney minifigures from that box too
  5. Wow that really shows how well HBP is being represented if most of the other options are variants of already existing minifigures! None of those strike me as all that obvious apart from maybe Draco to go with Crabbe and Goyle because of Kingnono's 'gang' hint but then that wouldn't apply to HBP. Tonks and Lockhart sound like a good guess, especially as Lockhart is such a recognisable character. I can't imagine him just being included in a D2C when lots of fans who won't be able to afford that will want to get him. Also even if there is a Ministry exclusive set coming (potentially somewhere between £55-25 based on the price hint) I imagine Tonks would be quite low down on the list of characters that would be included in that scene. Also if Lockhart was to be included he would be the fourth teacher alongside Dumbledore, Sprout and Pomfrey (kinda) which coincidentally is the same amount of teachers we got in season 1 with Dumbledore, Trelawney, Flitwick and Moody. Also just looking at all those figures it does seem to be incredibly Chamber of Secrets dominated, but then there really weren't many major sets based of that in the first wave.
  6. I hope not, I just bought the Astronomy Tower so won't have the money for the Clocktower for a few months at least. Maybe because there's now going to be few years' worth of Harry Potter on shelves at the same time retailers are ordering less of the larger sets which take up more space? There's two £100 sets in this wave at the same time as well so between those and the Great Hall and Clocktower I guess something has to move. Hopefully based on what we've heard about Lego not discontinuing Harry Potter sets anytime soon it won't be until next year that any major set from 2019 is discontinued. I would think the 2018 sets would be discontinued first, or at least those which are less iconic like the Whomping Willow or Quidditch, leaving the Great Hall and Hogwarts Express and the 2019 stuff.
  7. That's definitely a more accurate breakdown with the magical treasury book, polybag and Brickheadz included, and would mean the (potential) Ministry set is drastically smaller. However it does make what is meant to be the 'Hogwarts Students Brickheadz' set seem even more dubious to me. That the set is titled 'Students' would suggest that there are enough pieces to build at least two figures. But if it's only £20, as it would need to be to fit the extra set in to Kingnono's total price of the wave, then that means it won't have the extra pieces needed to customise the figures like the Go Brick Me set. Unless its double the price I can't see how it would have value as a way for you to make different Hogwarts Students Brickheadz. I think that set is either going to be much more than the usual price of a Brickheadz double pack or, like we've been theorizing, its something else like an accessory pack.
  8. It’s an interesting idea I haven’t heard before but as the Ministry is only in two films I don’t think there’s enough there for three sets. Also I don’t think the courtroom is recognisable enough at all, imagine that as a set compared to the new room of requirement. I’d argue the atrium as it is in the Harry Potter studios and the Department of Mysteries are the only two parts Lego would care to adapt, and that they’d either put them both in the same set or just adapt a part from one film rather than spreading them out.
  9. Is that the same for all boxes? If so that's going to be very useful for getting a few Knights and Vikings once I can leave the house!
  10. What I've been putting together is a mix of both. I've had a lot of fun trying to make the front part accurate to the main look of the castle from the front in the films, with the Great Hall, Gryffindor Tower and an MOC Viaduct with space for the parts of the Astronomy Tower to complete the front look. But I do like having some depth to my castle as well so behind that I've created a green courtyard space and a few other bits of castle I've either made myself or adapted from the 2010 Hogwarts.
  11. Just to further clarify Kingnono is an Instagram account who exclusively has made hints about upcoming Lego Harry Potter characters and sets for the last few weeks (or months?). His posts have been reposted by other trusted Instagram lego leakers and the characters he hinted at which appeared in the Burrow have proven that his information is at the very least mostly accurate
  12. Assuming there would be a figure from each house I definitely think the Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff figures would have the standard jumpers but I'm not sure about the Gryffindor and Slytherin ones. One trend I've noticed in other minifigure packs is that there's at least one figure with unique printing as well so I think there could be a unique torso print for one of the houses - maybe a Slytherin torso printed with a scarf? (a look which is very present in Quidditch matches). However, it is possible that to make all the figures consistent they all just have the same style of jumper without robes or a coat printed over it. Apart from by houses I also think there will be equal representation in gender, with different looks for each figure like the Microfigures from the board game: But I also think just like the students in the CMF there will be more inclusion as well. I expect two or at least one figure to have a black or asian Lego skin-tone present in just the hands and the head piece, like Dean Thomas and Cho Chang from the cmf. Hopefully this will make it easier to customise characters like Angelina Johnson, Blaize Zabini, Lee Jordan and Lavender Brown from the first two films (heh ).
  13. That looks great! Definitely the best configuration of the parts of the castle I’ve seen I rewatched OotP the other day and I saw a boy with long dark hair in the DA who fitted the description of Michael Corner, Ginnys ravenclaw boyfriend in the books but I might be mistaken. Also as the set is called Hogwarts students it could just contain unnamed characters like the Lego game.
  14. I haven’t got the 2018 Great Hall as I already have the 2010 version and when the theme was rebooted I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to commit to buying the large sets. It was last years wave that convinced me to start properly collecting again and although I’m now collecting the larger castle sets thanks to the Astronomy Tower I’ve been trying to blend the different styles of castle together rather than replacing my Great Hall and Gryffindor Tower builds. Though that does mean I’m crossing my fingers for another opportunity to get a Hufflepuff torso, the closest I’ve got is the two Triwizard Cedrics
  15. Oh wow, a student minifigure pack would be a dream come true! Especially with all the Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw torsos which would be needed to expand Dumbledore's Army. I'm going to have to work really hard to restrain my expectations, especially as a I don't have a normal Hufflepuff student torso yet. I am assume that the Marvel one is in one of those transparent plastic wrapping shaped like a minifigure? Just imagining seeing a Harry Potter themed one pop up in a Lego store makes me giddy
  16. I could see all the key locations in the Battle of Hogwarts just thrown in together. They could have a generic tower in the middle, with the wooden bridge on one side, the courtyard on the other side and the Boathouse at the bottom and it could connect to the other side of the Great Hall. Also now we've seen Grawp I'm really hoping for a similar giant build next year too!
  17. That sounds logical to me! I don't think we got any figure leaks for the exclusive sets last year so official pictures for this years set will probably just turn up out of nowhere when we're not expecting it
  18. Is there really many more vehicles Lego can make? All I can think of off the top of my head is Hagrids (/Sirius's) flying motorbike for if they make a small Deathly Hallows set next year. Personally I wouldn't mind an oversized brick-built motorbike so it can fit Hagrid on and have a sidecar for Harry. Throw in a couple of masked Death Eaters on broomsticks and maybe a car for the road part of the chase scene and I reckon that would make a great £12-20 set.
  19. Hufflepuff's common room is mentioned quite a lot in the book because it's next to the House Elf kitchens. It'd be cool if there was a nod to that in a set if they did make the common room, maybe the picture of the pear that you have to tickle to gain entry (I think that's how you the trio found the House Elves in the book).
  20. Oh thanks for pointing that out, I've just looked it up and really like the look of it as a courtyard area . Apart from the front area of Hogwarts I'm quite rusty on the location of other parts of the castle, and the section on the other side of the Viaduct with the Astronomy Tower and Bell Towers is the area I know the least. The anticipation for the Astronomy Tower is killing me, as soon as I get my hands on it I can properly plan the other builds around it!
  21. That's really cool! I don't know how likely it is for more sets to be built in this format considering Lego just seem to want to make a giant chain of modular towers but your layout is really useful for MOCs! I've been customising my own Hogwarts using pieces from the older sets and the design of some of the newer ones and I've recently built the Viaduct to connect the Great Hall with the gate section from the new Astronomy Tower set. I reckon if I've got a lot of pieces left over once I've incorporated the Astronomy Tower I might try and take a stab at the Quad and your layout would be really useful for that
  22. Looking through these there's three I would like if they were to be turned into sets: the Castle in the Forest, Hyrule Castle (if it was significantly scaled-down) and the Indiana Jones Trilogy set - I love the figures for that one! However, all of these might be quite unlikely but it's really hard to tell what could pass based on here. A lot don't stand out to me as they just seem like either things that would be made in the Lego Modular or Space themes already, or the pattern of an established license having a big house. From all those submissions of giant licensed houses only two have passed I think: the Ghostbusters and Sesame Street. Also the Rome city set is absolutely amazing but I can't imagine many people buying that. Also does anyone think the wrecked house set has no marketable appeal whatsoever? Like there's no charm there and it just looks a bit grim.
  23. Maybe the addition of a brick-built beard to go over his face? Judging by the beards on the Brickheadz it would be a bit tricky tho. Also I'm planning to reconfigure the Astronomy Tower so that the gate section faces sideways towards the Great Hall so I can build a bridge in between them. Does it look like the Green House is attached to the other section by technic pins so I could attach it to the other side of the castle? Edit: just seen Deskp's post from a few pages back and it looks like it does. The challenge for me now is that if I put the gate section sideways and the Astronomy Tower to the front I'll have to build a bit of wall to connect them
  24. Good idea! It would be great to see it recoloured for the build a minifigure parts if it doesn’t appear in Harry Potter
  25. Wow looking at all the castle pictures on Promobricks and I love all the interior pictures! The main guy has a really cool bone throne, there's a mini organ and I love the stained glass art, it really adds something to the design. What a great set!
