Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Darth Shadowthrone replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
The descriptions says that the bathroom is designed for the wider building from the Forbidden Corridor to fit on top (both are 16 studs long). Also I definitely think we’re looking at rather preliminary builds not in terms of size and shape but wall texture and different colours - I would bet they are not that monotonous in the finished sets. This especially goes for the Great Hall and Three Broomsticks. I wouldn’t be too hard on yourselves, these pictures are so much harder to find than other leaked waves like the Eternals sets . As it was I was desperately taking screen shots of everything I could see and even then I missed the fluffy set (which I would appreciate being set if anyone’s got a minute ) -

There are definitely a lot of figures that we need new moulds to work and the CMF format is perfect for them! -

I still hope we get at least a couple of sets to tie into Fantastic Beast as well next year, if the film isn't delayed even further . I could see the new setting of Brazil suiting a more adventurous film and (hopefully) some interesting sets crammed full of Fantastic Beasts like the Suitcase! -

I love all of the latest dragons Lego have been making! I didn't like the earliest Ninjago dragons because I thought they were too stylised, then lost all interest in the ones that followed with brick-built heads (which in my opinion only work for the larger dragons where they can have the increased pieces to properly shape the heads). However, starting with the Golden Dragon from 2019 (which is smaller than the 2013 version I think) I've been following these newest dragons with a lot of interest! I'm definitely picking up the Overlord Dragon, which should scale well to the newer Golden Dragon, and I might get the Jungle Dragon depending on how the summer dragons look (and what price they are). I was also very interested in the Skull Sorcerer's Dragon last year but the legs were a bit too blocky for me and the whole thing is of such awe-inspiring size it was quiet intimidating thinking about how I would store/display it -
I doubt that is on the table for one big reason: their long-staying license themes. I honestly feel that as long as Lego have Harry Potter, Star Wars, superheroes and Minecraft then the brand always has that surety to fall on. Lego are very transparent about what themes are so successful which must make them more comfortable to experiment with stuff like Hidden Side, Mario and these Vidiyo sets to try and find the next big theme for them like Ninjago or Friends.

A huge Horntail or Ironbelly would be SICK tho. There’d be no need for a sidebuild like the Jurassic gate so I could see a scaled-up dragon still being under 1000 pieces like the buildable Star Wars characters. The minifigure selection would probably be very uninspired tho Oh no... the Ironbelly but with just the Gringotts roof as a base -

Ooh I hadn't even thought of that, that we could see some sort of longer dragon build similar to Lloyd's mech dragon for the movie or even some kind of dragon/sea-serpent build (that might be going a bit too far!). You definitely have a point though; a water dragon might not necessarily need to even fly. -

The biggest thing I want now that we're going to get Fluffy and the Basilisk/Chamber of Secrets is a Gringotts in scale with the other Diagon Alley buildings (as in even bigger than the already monumental WWW!). And to be honest with Gringotts I don't mind if it's Philosopher's Stone or Deathly Hallows. The PS stone would be easier to fit in the building as soon from the outside and would also explain why there is a PS Griphook in the Advent Calendar - they've reused a lot of figures before as it is. This could be exactly the kind of thing we're being warned about: maybe it's a monkeys paw situation and we roughly get what we've been asking for but not EXACTLY as we asked for it: a non-Deathly Hallows Gringotts, / Chamber of Secrets but thrown in with the Great Hall, / Durmstrang ship but it actually only has two non-exclusive minifigures, / Grimmauld Place but it's a microscale GWP . I know the biggest complaint with a PS Gringotts would be the lack of an Ironbelly dragon and Deathly Hallows goblins (or at least that's what my complaints would be!!) but those elements could always be included in an interior playset later on (a smaller set with a dragon and an interior build stinks of a store-exclusive). That would make sense, I suppose in a way they were killing two birds with one stone! (keeping the colour choices varied AND tying the sets back to the original colour scheme) -

Ok thanks, it's cool to hear that the rocks are dark grey this time around instead of the big dark tan BURPS from the UCS Hogwarts (I was thinking that dark grey would be the predominant colour to fit with the Chamber anyway). And I can't imagine the bathroom or Forbidden Corridor with rocks when the buildings are so much smaller and would be unrecognisable with the typical Hogwarts architecture so I am very much looking forward to see how those two sets (or the connected building they make with one on top of the other) fit next to the Great Hall! -
Jurassic World 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

So this might be either old news or uninteresting to people who already own a baby Blue raptor but there's pictures of a Lego Jurassic World magazine polybag with a small helicopter build, Owen with a brown and blue torso and what looks like the old baby sand-green Blue. Again a lot of people might already have this but as someone who's building up a baby raptor collection and missed out on the original baby Blue polybag this is quite exciting, especially as it contains a minifigure and baby raptor for the cost of £6 here in the UK (I love seeing new Lego magazines in my local Tesco!). Also the magazine has a picture of the blue and orange Allosaurus from the Lego TV series and although it's clearly rendered and from the show I really REALLY hope it becomes a physical dino this year, especially since its shaping up to be a quiet Jurassic World year without the new film. -

Okay, I know this has been said before but it's hilarious seeing this thread on 'hot', thinking there's new information even if it's a single character inclusion or coloured brick or something and then just seeing...this. To try and revert the conversation to the sets we don't actually know about (I've given up hope of Gringotts this year so I'll either avoid crushing disappointment or relieved surprise) I've been thinking about how the Great Hall is a whole floor taller than the last one (in theory) with the stone foundations and how the other two sets could link into that, so here's my big question: what if the anniversary sets are grey on the ground floor and tan traditional Hogwarts colours on their upper floors? This could mean that the Bathroom and Forbidden Corridor could still work next to the Great Hall despite being level with the Chamber of Secrets. This could be a MASSIVE call-back to the original sets (up to 2007). ALL of these earlier Hogwarts sets are grey on the bottom. Also as a disclaimer I've carefully read the set descriptions from Promobricks / Stone Wars and the wider building section of the Forbidden Corridor fits on top of the Girl's Bathroom (with the Forbidden Corridor tower separate, it sounds a bit like how Jabba's Palace went on top of the Rancor cage but much smaller). So maybe if the Girl's Bathroom is level with the Chamber of Secrets on the ground floor that set has a lot of grey parts and then most of the Forbidden Corridor is tan colours? Could any of our trusted leakers divulge what kind of mix of grey and tan colours are going on in these sets please? -

Damn, that set looks like such a waste because none of the minifigures look new. I know they often aren't in 4+ sets but with this being a larger set with 4 figures I'd hope for at least one new villain or a couple of new variants! I don't think the Legacy suits are that hard to get for kids either? Anyway the most exciting part of the set for me is seeing proper wings on the dragon, I hope the Fire and Water Dragons use that style of wings instead of the skeletal design in the summer. I already own the Golden Dragon and am planning on getting the Overlord Dragon to go with it but I'm fed up of skeletal wings by now . Give us proper wings Lego! (by which I mean fabric or moulded aha). -

The old Troll was as really unique mould before there was a set design for bigfigs. I could definitely see a hybrid moulded mountain troll in the scale of Groot or Steppenwolf, or brickbuilt at the same size as the giant slender-man from last years Hidden Side fire truck. Imagine if there’s a retail exclusive anniversary set we don’t know about yet containing either Quirrel and the Mirror of Erised / or the Mountain Troll in a generic corridor (maybe linked to the boathouse considering that would finally work with a raised Great Hall) -

Wow I just wanted to say I absolutely love that tiger-striped raptor design, I haven't liked some of the raptor designs we've gotten with Blue and that even bluer one from last year but if that tiger-striped raptor came in a set I would have to get it! -

Yeah I had got the impression that the smaller roof piece from the early days of Harry Potter was long out of production (I always thought of it as the Quirrell roof piece as when I was a child I ended up getting two copies of that set from the secondary market!). And its good to know the larger roof pieces are still in production, my concern was that Lego would instead include the cone-shaped roof piece they used on the 2018 Great Hall and the Astronomy Tower. That being said, I actually found it quite easy to swap out the Astronomy Tower's roof for a green one so I'm sure I can always do the same again I love your minifigure art! Do you have a flickr or Instagram account I can follow? -
I actually really enjoy feeling for the figures I want, it took some of the excitement away when the Harry Potter CMF series 2 came out and my local Lego shop just gave me the ones I wanted (apart from 2 they made a mistake on, given they had felt them themselves). Also I can't see us being able to buy single, well-detailed figures if they are just released in transparent bags or something, that seems like something that would not be as profitable for Lego, even if their profit is based on people buying more than they wanted trying to get certain figures!

Ooh this is really interesting! I wonder if only the Great Hall is built on rock as the other two smaller Hogwarts sets probably won’t have a high enough piece count (and are based off higher-up bits of the castle anyway). In which case integrating a taller Great Hall built on rock into my existing castle should be an interesting challenge! Also it’s no wonder the Great Hall is apparently ‘less detailed’ if a chunk of the piece count is devoted to a big rock formation (maybe some BURPs will be used like in UCS Hogwarts). That’s essentially a whole other floor included that wasn’t in the 2018 version! Finally does anyone know how many roof pieces are still in production at the moment? I’ve got a soft spot from the big textured green ones from 2010 so imagining a big green staircase tower roof which is as flat as the Astronomy Tower roof makes it feel like a step down -

What I’ve done for mine so far is having a mix of grey and green roofs, with the castle being mostly green and then some grey roofs for towers. That being said, most of my castle is based on the 2010 incarnation to which I’ve only had to add the Astronomy Tower thus far. I could definitely see myself breaking up my 2010 Great Hall for parts in favour of the upcoming 2021 version. It seems to me like those are scars are her cheek, likely intended to be a claw mark from some magical creature. It’s an interesting character choice and would certainly make for a cool figure if Lego really want to scrape the bottom of the barrel (just try reusing a face for her Lego) -

Oh god I just had an idea: 4+ Harry Potter sets! Harry Potter is popular with kids from a young age and although most of the sets thus far have been aimed at older children maybe with junior-ised sets Lego think they can appeal to a wider child audience. - 4+ Hogwarts Castle for £70 with giant printed castle elements - 4+ Hagrids Hut with only two walls - 4+ either Hogwarts Express or Ford Anglia -

That's my state of mind too: I think it's better use of our energy to turn the current outlook for the August wave into a bit of joke than to complain about either leakers or Lego's decision making when we're not in possession of all the facts. Of course, that doesn't mean I'll be right at the front of the queue to complain when it turns out all the summer sets are 2018 remakes Ahahaha that's brilliant! Conversely it could be a micro-scale Azkaban in line with UCS Hogwarts and an army of grey Azkaban prisoner nanofigures and plain black cloaked nanofigures for the Dementors -

The Niffler is a great and very plausible idea, especially considering how many similar buildable cute characters have been made in Star Wars, but I think it would be quite weird to see a Fantastic Beasts creature slap-bang in the middle of an otherwise HP wave. I would say its an almost certainty for next year though, when the 3rd Fantastic Beasts film comes out - honestly I could see a buildable set like that being the only system Fantastic Beasts we get, with maybe a new Newt minifigure to tie into the next film (as much as I would hope otherwise I did hear that the 2018 Fantastic Beasts sets didn't sell well ) And with the current frame of mind in this forum I'm starting to be afraid that even your two reasonably-sized Deathly Hallows sets will be more Deathly Hallows stuff than we end up getting this year -

I'm going to have a go at channeling my inner darkness and create a set list I (and probably most of the people in this forum) wouldn't want or expect: Hagrid's Hut, either Philosopher's Stone or Chamber of Secrets variant. Building designed to fit in with the Anniversary Green-Roofed Hogwarts sets. Philosopher's Stone version would have Hagrid, the Trio and the Draco from Diagon Alley. Chamber of Secrets version would have Aragog. NO Fang Snape's Potion Classroom designed to fit with the Anniversary Hogwarts sets. A Quidditch Lesson with Harry, Neville, Draco, Hooch and a bit of castle to reenact the Remembrall scene Giant Hogwarts Express set with Hogsmede station to fit in with the other Hogsmede set. Has the exact same characters as the 2018 but with the trio having mid-legs and no Trolley Witch. Either a buildable Norbert, Fawkes or Nagini to fit with the buildable Hedwig. I would just like to say I wouldn't mind a Philosopher's Stone Forbidden Forest set, especially if it came cloaked Voldemort, Firenze or a Unicorn but I'm imagining the worst case scenario which in this case is a Hagrid's Hut with only a couple of new variants and no new characters -

Luckily this year does seem to be a bit different: there's only one set we know of so far with normal variants of the Harry, Ron and Hermione - the Forbidden Corridor set. I'm also really glad Ron and Hermione don't come in the new Great Hall set too - instead we get two new students in Justin Finch-Fletchly and Colin Creevey! I'm also of the opinion that the Girls' Bathroom contains another two new students if you can fully make Crabbe and Goyle! I'm also really surprised it doesn't seem like there's normal versions of Ron and Hermione in the Hogsmede set. Of course with the amazing minifigure selection in the anniversary sets we're probably doomed to getting the full trio in 3/4 of the August wave sets -

Oh noooo! I never thought I could be persuaded to buy another Great Hall since I’m still pretty happy with my (modded) 2010 one but this pretty much decides it for me. I love animals with moulded heads and I love the basilisk so I can’t not get this set now! the inclusion of minifigures like vector with the new hat and nearly headless nick certainly make it more palatable too also can anyone think of a reason why the Basilisk needs a moulded tail though, I don’t see why that is necessary
