  1. Wow. Those are fantastic. Some great piece usage all over the place. If this is your first try... I can't wait till you try this again
  2. hahah. Loved it! Great work. ... NWU! nice Weiner usage
  3. I wish there was an oscar for best use of Army Men accessories... cause you'd win :) Very inventive way and great brick-built animal. Though don't Mantises have antenna ?
  4. haha I actually laughed when I saw this. Funny and cute :) Outside looks all in the up and up, but the store holds something far more sinister.
  5. Welcome to EB! Can wait to see what you've built.
  6. And so it was that the four Great Guilds of Historica reinforced the bonds between them with masterful diplomacy. Pleased with the newly-established era of unity, the High King Draconius has decided to tour the realm of Historica, so that he may survey all the newly-built embassies and note-worthy sights first-hand, and reward all those whose efforts had helped insure the peace. From the Capital Stronghold of Cedrica, the High King, his entourage and armed guard shall make their way to each of the four realms of Historica. Thus the King has sent messengers to every Guild, decreeing they must prepare their land for his arrival. “It is a time of peace and prosperity” the King has announced; and all in Historica will be well advised to remember it. With this new peace, the High King has decided to focus the the realm in more historical pursuits - gathering a great champion from each realm to look for an infamous Historian who may hold the answer to the Mystery of Historica's fabled hidden shrine... Stay tuned for more... ---------------------- You can still build both an Embassy and a Watch tower if you want! Though they wouldn't count towards the challenges, but would be counted as free builds. I do. It'll be soon. We want to announce to results before kicking off the new round

  11. Ah thank you Geof, for relaying my message. Apologies for lack of response - as there were some pressing matters in the realm. But with that done on to real business... Velethuil While I have seen more formidable outposts, the Rakath mountains are a dangerous place to put a embassy - it saddens me that the Embassy could not hold against evil forces... Tower Master Erudhalion , Your new embassay is not as tall as your last one but far more more complicated than the previous time. The star is really cool and the 'cake layer' is nice. haha the mirco figs are awesome. Another worthy entry! Damaximus I see you are putting those BURPs to good use Overall I like the concept - but I think you got a bit ambitious with your bricks - just cause you're allowed to build on a bigger space - doesn't mean you need to use it all - I think the MOC would have been slightly better if you made it smaller - there seems to be a bit of open space. And I think the Giant Eye view is a nicer picture to lead. (the birds eye view has a POTC box in it ) The arm wrestling is definitely my favorite part! Dugal my good man! What a a very Mitgardian building. I think you really captured their feel while still putting southern touch to it! The de-icing is great. Very impressive given your locked up bricks And good advice too. Master Cartographer Tex, your original sketches were fantastic - but this is truly great to see in brick form. Though now you make me want to try the LDD route... oppose to just buying lots of brick and just build free form. Though you seem to need larger sheets, or stop building so high While the exterior is nice, especially the warf, I really love the interiors. You say the building isn't overly complicated - but the nice use of colour blocking makes up for a lot of that - you don't need to use advanced techniques when you have some great colour blocking. Also loved the Guild coloured 1x1 rounds Mikel , the house of Kalores is most welcome here. We need strong, dedicated men like yourself, in such places as Barqa. Your story rings true with me - as a lot of Kaliphlin were also result of the weak banding together into a much stronger and formidable force. I hope that I can meet this Leon sometime, he sounds like a good mind and would be good to have a mead or six with. Please, continue to share with us your story - thought it may help to have links to the previous post (you can grab the link from the post number on the right side) - that way if someone new coming in can read your story in the entirety. That is a wonderful start of Barqa! It would make sense that major port would have a strong fort to back it up. I love the repeating pattern in the walls and ramparts. Simple but utterly effective! Don't forget the guild banners this time! Abū Alī my good friend, it is good to hear from you! I was starting to get worried, just the other day I was telling my sister, Kathyrin, that we may have send out a search party to look for you! Wow that is a fantastic Embassy, alas it was past the deadline... though it may still count (with penalty) - I'm not sure but I'll find out. It's truely is an awesome build - I glad you took your time to finish it properly than to rush - as the results are quite amazing. The wall rock work, the round wall. -- Great work everyone on the embassies. Take a rest. The next challenge is coming soon... but first there will be an short interlude while the scores are being tallied...
  12. It's not the grandest of embassies, but it really is a nice build/great presentation. Perhaps when you get your BL orders you can expand and show us what had previously envisioned. Though you realize you've now set the bar - you have to do cool backgrounds for all your MOCs :P
  13. You can always join without building! Only think you have to do is create a sigfig and a backstory - and then join the conversation. Even without building you can contribute to the Guild by helping out with story ideas, moc ideas, moc feedback etc etc. As for your second question... it's a bit more complicated... This all started as the "History Stimulus Package" To save you pages of reading - basically people were coming up with ideas on how to do something interesting in the historical forum. It started out as 'Lets do a community build' then 'Let's create MOCs and put it on the map.' Others suggested grouping into the LEGO factions. I think the real break through was when Siren's of Titans suggested to put everyone into Guilds - irrespective of their traditional LEGO lines. This went on for maybe a few weeks before Guild Leaders were picked - and a started crafting up the world and how to approach it from a building perspective as well as running it as a community effort. That might seem like a long time to plan it all out - it wasn't - we were sort of flying by our pants - and it sorta shows, but behind the scenes we are still working (we even have con calls now! ) and I think we have a really good plans for the next few months of where the world is going towards... So for future Guilds of <forum> - I think the lesson is plan things out first! Welcome aboard! Keep in mind that each guild has varied environments - yes south is primarily desert - but we do have grassy lands, mountains and seas etc - that way everyone can build anything - and not necessarily bound to just one style - though most people like the challenge of sticking with the realms stereotypical landscape. Patience young padiwan! Challenge III shall be revealed soon. In the mean time, feel free to do some free building and score some points.
  14. Very nice. The ship and the base work very well together. Very unique build. Not surprising coming from you though
  15. Well congratulations on your first MOC! That second picture is nice - I like how you use a flashlight(?) to capture it. Neat effect! It would have been cool to see the whole ship like that I like the two asymmetric engines - too often they're the same engine/mirrors - so it's nice to see. My biggest criticism on this is that _usually_ pod racers either have a uniform look to them, or both engines are uniform - you seem to have three very difference pieces. And while it could work - yours isn't working for me. Like if you have a big blocky engine, I'd expect the other engine to be blocky too. Keep up the good work!
  16. Neat. These would look great in a moc. Maybe some spacemen visiting some alien nest of these Though you should see if you can make the wings more posable? Like attaching a clip so you can make it flap a bit more for more articulation?
  17. There are a bunch of tutorials that show how you can post pictures: Useful tutorials! Have you considered making a bunch of these and using them as autonomous drones? I think it would be great to see a bunch of these flying around! (also great choice in colour )
  18. It's a good start. But the dino looks so lonely by itself Maybe add a few more animals? It would be nice to add some texture in the ground - just to add a bit of elevation?
  19. The U and the N are kinda neat - but maybe you should use a separate colour for them so that it really stand out? or maybe more of the trans orange(?) ? Your second set of seats are definitely cleaner than the first - though it's starting to be a bit bland - maybe add some of those curved slopes back in for that retro dinner type look?
  20. Go for it! the dark ones can use one as yourself!
  21. Haha. Yeah it looks a bit more purple. Looks GREAT ... but purple ;) The shape and flow of this fighter is really nice. Nice work with that hinge plate /w the three cheese wedges. The colour variants are nice as well. Good job.
  22. VRRRRRRROOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM VROOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM VRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM........... That looks like a very racable car
  23. Stunning. absolutely stunning.
  24. To whom it may concern, Lord Dextrus Flagg is currently attending to some important WORK. I, Geof - His administrative minister, was beckoned to come address you all and express the Lord's sincerest admiration at these fine Embassies. A job well done and a deserved acknowledgement of praise to you all. His lordship shall return post WORK and address you individually as per his usual manner.
  25. Looking good! I'd love to see your brick built one side by side and see the comparisons as you start building this up. Are you planning a ship too? that looks like a possible landing bay with a control tower
